Best snacks and actual food at both parks???

Hey y'all,

me and my girlfriend are heading tomorrow to the parks for three days and we wanted to know what are some recommendations any of you have for food. Also for drinks too, she almost had a heatstroke last time we went so I want to know some of the better places to keep her, and I suppose myself, hydrated.

From previous trips we had who hash which was great, the fish and chips with tartar sauce from three broomsticks was good too, the steampunk chocolate place in front of the parks is nice as well, and we tried Mythos but honestly it was not what we expected (enjoyed the appetizers more than the actual entrees).

I assume you know the freestyle machines have free ice and water. You can just use your own cup or water bottle. We brought collapsible bottles and used the machines. It was great, and then they just rolled up back in my bag. We also drank a lot of frozen butterbeer.

For food, I really liked the three Broomsticks and leaky cauldron, but I think it varies on taste and what you order. The taco truck near Simpsons was okay. The minions place was actually pretty good. We liked it better than the today show Cafe place.

Honestly, we ate a lot during breaks in the hotel. We got creative with a small fridge and groceries from an Amazon fresh delivery.

Anything in particular you would recommend from the minion place? I assume it's the minion cafe thing at the front of Universal right?

Second Louie's Pizza. Get yourself a refillable cup and you will be good for soft drinks and powerade for hydration.
I also really like the pasties in Diagon Alley (the beer place near the stage) and Hogsmeade (the snack cart near Olivanders)- the beef are my favourite. Crepes from the Central Park Crepe place are amazing.

Anything from Louie's or the Central Park Crepe you would recommend?

We had the a pumpkin pasties in Honeyduke's when we went last, it was really good. I'll try out the beef one this weekend, thanks for the tip.

Louie's pizza is a good quick bite but I haven't tried anything else from there. The crepe place changes their menu and I think right now they have a strawberry Nutella option. But be warned they can be slow, service-wise! But tasty. At mardi gras time they had a bananas foster crepe that was chefs kiss

Couple options for hydration. My option (I’m cheap), is to stop at any of the snack stands and ask for cups of ice water. They will all give you a free cup of ice water. Any stand I walk by that doesn’t have a line or only has one or two people in line is a stop for water.

If I see a Coke Freestyle machine or water fountain before the next attraction I’m headed for, I’ll refill the cup with water, or sometimes just with ice. I’ll often feel better after sucking on the ice cubes than drinking the water (maybe that’s just in my head).

I really considered the green eggs and ham last time but chose the who hash because of the color. I'll see if I can try it out this time maybe split it with one of my friends who are going with my gf and me. Wimpy sounds good too, will try it as well. Thanks for the tip

I love the chicken from thunder falls with the corn, empanadas near Kong, pizza at Louie’s, onion rings at Mel’s

You triggered my girlfriend's memory of the empanada stand, she said it was great too. Will definitely try the onion rings at Mel's since we want to go and fully experience the Simpson's area before it is remade to whatever it is they are replacing it with. Thanks for the help

They are at a booth not sure which one but I get them for breakfast a lot when there lol they are sooo good and flaky highly recommend the cart also sells churro bites and pretzels o think

Pumpkin Juice was a positive surprise to me.

I quite enjoy Three Broomsticks, and Leaky Cauldron is pretty good too. Thunder Falls Terrace was good last I checked as well.

Little tip: if you ask for a water cup anywhere that serves drinks that aren’t bottled and isn’t a butterbeer cart, they will give it to you for no charge.

Pumpkin juice was amazing, we got some souvenir cup that we refilled a lot, but I wanted to drink more water this trip to avoid the possible heat stroke. Thunder falls looks like a common rec so I'll check it out when we go

I really like Finnegan’s at US. Nothing fancy but consistent. Good drinks and it’s cool in there. If you like fish and chips, they have some. Three broomsticks can be good or extremely greasy. The potato and onion appetizer is great.

Potato cart outside Diagon is great and often overlooked.

Other favorites are Confisco's, Hog's Head, Finnegan's.

Breadbox outside in Citywalk is another hidden gem

I ate the veggie black bean burger and fries at krustys in Simpsons land. They have a bunch of simpsons themed food spots there, flaming moes, the seafood place where homer eats all you can eat. we also had fish and chips which were pretty good. Simpsons land has a lot of food options.

My favorite snack by far is Green Eggs and Ham. It's so delicious and fun! No indoor seating, though. But there is a Coke Freestyle machine for free ice water in Seuss Landing.

I haven't eaten a lot at the parks (we've only been twice), but my family has enjoyed BreadBox and Toothsome's in CityWalk, along with the Taco truck in the Simpsons area and the Crepe place.

For drinks, we mostly stuck with water and frozen Butterbeer. I don't like butterscotch, but dang that stuff was good! Staying hydrated is definitely important...my daughters friend nearly passed out from the heat. We dove into an air conditioned shop to let her sit and cool off for a bit. Freaked me out!

There’s a free water hydration station at the Jurassic Pavillion next to the burger registers as well as in studios at the open bar spot next to the cop car on the left side of the bar

For hydration, get a Coke Freestyle souvenir cup that includes "free" refills for the day. You can fill it yourself at any of the machines scattered throughout the park. That makes it easy to stay hydrated. Just keep refilling it between attractions.

From what I'm finding, the cup the first day should be around $17.99 (less if you buy more than one), and that includes drinks for the first day. Then you can re-activate it on future days for drinks for $10.99.

Aside from drinks in park, I always carry water bottles in our bags. Those can also be refilled at most of the freestyle stations or at a water fountain.

Also, from the who hash stand, the other flavors of tots are all really good. Also, seconding the crepe stand. We have also gotten the Spare ribs and chicken platter and the beef pasties from Three Broomsticks and thought both were good. There's also a jacket potato stand outside Diagon Alley that's good for a snack. Butterbeer iced cream is also really good in case you missed it last time. Florean Fortescues has lots of interesting flavors, but I think I've enjoyed the butterbeer soft serve the most.
