I also just find it so ironic that we have "laws" for warfare anyway. It's like "sure, go ahead and kill the shit out of each other, just make sure you do it humanely" LOL
War has with us for much of recorded human history, since the first known civilization sometime around 5,000-8,000 years ago we've had about 14,000 some wars. This isn't me endorsing it, it's more of an acknowledgement of the human condition on a broader scale. Not everyone is as warhwakish as a right-winger, but there have to be rules for war as laid by people like Sun Tzu.

Over hundreds of cultures, cities, and civilizations have been lost, reborn, and lost again. Although up until probably ww1 and even some exceptions throughout history, war was practiced much differently than it is in the modern world.
A problem is that American politicians have spent many, many decades trying to one up each other to prove who supported Israel more. This has lead to a lot of rules mandating that we give them weapons.
Was it dumb to promise unconditional support? Yes.
Can we go back on these promises now? No. At least, not quickly.

They ain't denying he did it, they're saying that it can't be 100% proven that he did it using stuff they gave him and not weapons Israel manufactured themselves.
