What's the point of UPS Mail Innovations?

How cheap is ups mail innovations supposed to be. It's such a useless service so I'm really confused on why people use it. My package from California to NY with USPS shipped on the same day as another package from Ohio, which used UPS MI.

You would think the Ohio one would come much faster, but they're both currently quoted at 5 days, what is the point of skipping USPS just to do ups where they hand off to USPS.

The point of mail innovation is that UPS is going after volume that they wouldn't normally have because the shipper would use just the post office on those packages, you should get on the reddit page of who you ordered from and ask that question

Tons of shippers rip off their customers, pocket the shipping cost, and still use the slowest service.

Amazon does this a ton too, they project commits that differ from UPS’s, and act like it’s late.

We also get all of their missorts because they cannot run their system backwards, so they have to use UPS to fix their own internal mistakes.

It's a very old service and is mostly used by companies who have used it forever, are afraid of change and don't care if their customers get stuff quickly.

Sure post is a service that ships a product via UPS to the end destinations main USPS delivery hub, where the Mailman delivers the final mile. UPS picks up you package, delivers it to your mailman who then delivers to you.

Mail Innovations is pure USPS, but using UPS'S USPS account with them. Mail innovations is just mostly for people who are already UPS regulars who want to ship a USPS package but would rather do it through UPS. Its like paying your utilities bills at your local grocery store, rather than mail or the utility providers website because you think your grocery store is more convenient because your there every other day anyways for groceries.

I just left that job after i been there for 6 months. I have never seen anything so messed up . They hire a group of pep every week to 2 weeks. Very high turn over because of the the workers are treated.

I am so pissed off I ordered parts for my motorcycle from Partzilla. My last 2 orders from them. By the way will be my last orders with them. This stupid _ss mail innovations has to be the biggest POS out there. My last order it just kept showing the next day for delivery. Now my new order shows it was shipped on 6/3/24. It still does not show and information on the tracking number. What kind of garbage service is this. UPS should be ashamed of themselves

Let me guess, you got free shipping on something that was highly discounted? Mail innovations is a highly discounted shipping service. It utilizes UPS trucks and USPS last mile service. I believe that shippers actually sort their packages by ZIP Codes before even giving them to Mail innovations. Transportation cost are not cheap. Companies try to save money anyway they can. I’d be willing to bet there was an option for a faster service that you chose not to pick?

UPS MI generally offers slightly lower rates for lightweight shipments vs shipping with USPS outright. It's really for companies that want to save a few cents per shipment (which turns in a lot of money if they ship a lot of course).

Rates can go further down based on volume, especially as part of a contract which also includes UPS Ground and Air shipments.

UPS tracking is also more detailed and offers more updates, compared to USPS where there may often be no updates at all until it goes out for delivery.
