Question, about difficulty of this game.

Hi. I bought this game on kick starter with all the upgrades, but till I got all my enthusiasm is gone. Now I have two boxes on the top of my wardrobe, catching dust. I don't really have anyone to spent that much time on learning and later explaining to someone what to do. I've watched few videos,but don't really catch all this rules.

Can someone be honest with me, is someone who never played those kind of games will have any fun or will to learn all this.

Maybe I should to just sell it out if this is still possible.

honestly, just play it once solo to undestand the rules and sequence of the turns and then you will be able to teach it no problem (its a quite easy game once oyu see how it rolls) It is one of my faves for the character progression and card play but the base game (without any expansion) is really lackluster. Expansions make it sing though.

Thank you. I have the whole set with all the expansions. I already unpacked everything once and i separate base from the expansions. I'll give a try than and later will decided what to do.

I found it difficult to get to grips with at first. I felt a number of things in the rulebook could have been clarified better (I do appreciate it has been written without English as their first language). Thankfully, there are some good online tutorials now.

It is worth the effort, I really enjoy the game now, although it is better with others. It takes a long time to get through but does get faster as you learn the game.

The key thing I had confusion with the start was the difference between your action deck, your hand and your discard pile. Understanding how these work was the major thing that got the game going for me.

Thank you, all has been noted down. I was mostly worried about learning process and time spent on it and later realizing, that there is no fun at all. On this videos was like learning new language again. ;)

Any person can understand most of the rules within 2 complete rotations and 1 fight, its not a hard game to understand, its just heavy in time consuming department

I was in a similar situation to you. Hyped the Kickstarter, forgot about it, received it and left it on the shelf for a good couple of years.

Recently I managed to convince two other friends who also never really played games like this and let me tell you it was not an easy game to understand when drinking at the same time, took us about 5hrs to get through one game. We still had loads of fun though. So much fun that we are about to do it all again. Though now we know the rules it will likely improve and be much quicker.

As others have mentioned the rule book is overly complicated which may be down to translation issues. The game is actually relatively simple in its core. If three drunk guys can both learn and play through a whole game, then so can you.

Lesson learned. I'll try on my own, if everyone can understood, maybe I'm not gone be an exemption. Couple years ago I went to chill with some couple and the guy has fallout board game. That's was such a boring thing and we gave up on the begging. ;)

I second the call to play it solo. I was in the same boat. I struggled with the rulebooks and the How To Play videos I found absolutely bored me to tears.

I set everything up, then just sat and learnt how to play solo, just working through everything one step at a time. It was painful at first, and you have to stop yourself from assuming knowledge (there are some awkward rules hidden away), but once you've learnt how to play, it's a very simple game.

Unfortunately, it seems to be one of those games where it's best to learn by being taught by someone else, but if that isn't an option, then you have to take it on the chin.

Thank you. Ok, I'll give a try. The base is already in small box and I'll find some time and set everything up. I think only problem is , I'm overwhelmed with all this figures, simplicity would be probably better for me, but that's not the fun ;).

I watched YouTube tutorials/a playthrough and that helped me. Explained it very well, and I never play board games that are this extensive

Only table game for me was poker ;). I've done loads of compulsive buying that years. I'll give a try again.

The rulebook is not very clear but if you play it a few times, do some googling for more obscure situations and you'll be fine.

The game is a lot of fun!

Thank you, that's sounds good. I didn't even know is it good. I was on sick for a couple of months and I had a lot of ideas. Buying this game and a professional kayak was going of the normal shopping plan.

My view it's ok for the right group who want to get into it and spend the time but it's a bit of a slow game. Maybe selling is a good option

Thank you for a honest opinion. To be honest it was a lot of money ;). I never spent that much on any game.
