I used to argue with people on Twitter so much about The Bear being a top comedy and about the writer knowing exactly what he was doing to hit all the comedy beats structurally, etc.

And then this season we have 500 Faks doing improv (because I refuse to believe that any of their dialogue was written down on paper for other people to read and approve) + John Cena...

It's like Sandler making Uncut Gems 2 but with added fart jokes to make up for the lack of fart jokes in Uncut Gems 1. You just want to sit down with the show runner, look them in the eye and ask them "Dude, why do YOU think this is a comedy?" Just to see where they're at.

It's been days and I'm still confused by the insertion of the Faks. It's pure cowbell.

Abbott Elementary had a very good season, so I'm glad they might get some Best Comedy awards now, but I'm also sad that Bear dropped the ball. Like watching your favorite child fail but hoping your second favorite child takes the baton and runs with it.
