Tesla extension & accessories!

My new model Y arrives in 2 days & so stoked! My parking spot is more than 24 feet from my place so I either need to pay an electrician quite a bit to help me put a charger closer to my spot or use a high end extension cord. Does anyone have recommendations?

Also want to put all weather mats in the car. Should I get those through Tesla?

Do you rent? Talk to landlord.

If you own the place do the right thing and do it properly with a code compliant hard wired EVSE close to parking. Much more convenient and safer than 25ft of extension cable.

If that extension cord where people/gardener may walk or operate and mowing or trimming equipment you may get issues.

Get quotes, and likely you can save if you dig the trench and sink the pole.

A proper extension cable may cost more than the wires and conduit together. Much of this will be labor cost

I can set it up where the extension cord wouldn’t even touch the ground.

3D MAXpider Kagu mats are expensive but worth it. Perfect fit, good lip and easy to remove and replace for cleaning.

I just got a Tesla on Friday and am paying to have the charger hardwired to the house professionally. With parts and labor it’ll be under $1000 which I believe is reasonable for peace of mind and ease of charging.

It’s costing me about $2500 to get mine setup. I am having someone dig up about a 30 foot trench in my driveway so I can mount the wall charger next to my parking spot. It’ll be worth it in the long run

That link looks like only good for 120v and 15 amps. That is the range of like 3ish mph of charging. Is that good enough OP?

If not, then yeah, may be headed down a little pricier fix.
