Is this a joke? (I don’t live in St Louis anymore so can’t tell if you’re being serious.)
Thanks! Didn't know there was one hidden down in Clifton
In Clifton Heights park, it's just one hoop but the paved area is decent size and has painted lines.
There is no longer a hoop at Buder Park FYI
Yeah that list didn’t have tower grove on there either. City doesn’t keep their website updated. Shocker.
There are gorgeous new courts in Tower Grove Park at Bent & Arsenal.
Also a new park at Cherokee and Nebraska with basketball court
I think Fox Park has a court, that's basically the only one that I knew about before the ones went in at Tower Grove.
They do, right next to the baseball field
There's a full court in Tiffany on McRee
That was by design. During the 80’s and 90’s, most of them were removed from public City Parks. Tower Grove and Forrest Park putting them back in represents a win for basketball. Come a few miles down the road to University City. We have a couple of Parks with hoops (Heman and Mooney), as does Richmond Heights, right off Hanley and 40 (Green).
It's a win against ignorance and the worst of NIMBYs.
The NIMBYS are now occupied with pickelball courts.
Yup, people saw a few movies where poor people did naughty things in basketball courts and stupidly decided that the problem was basketball courts.
People say democracy is the best system, but sometimes the populace does and wants stupid things. Like removing basketball courts from neighborhoods to reduce crime.
It's not south of 44, but Chouteau Park has some
YMCA
Not full court, but you can shoot hoops at the new Love Bank Park on Cherokee.
Cherokee Street just got a really nice one
White cliff has a fairly active outdoor basketball court.
Newer courts in Tilles Park (the city park, not the county park)
There's 1 or 2 on Fyler just east of Hampton.
There’s one on fyler or aresnal between Hampton and kingshighway
They are finishing up the ones on Cherokee street
Chouteau park has a court but double rimmed goal
This is typical of outdoor courts tbf (not saying I don’t despise them).
Whitecliff Park… Sunset Hills / Crestwood
Why do the tennis players have to suffer?
The plight of the tennis player is an often overlooked issue. Thank you for spreading awareness.
The plague of pickleball shows no signs of slowing down
You don't, but the thing is you have options everywhere. There's one basketball court in southwest city

It’s hard to even find time on indoor courts. They get closed off for pickleball.
Shrewsbury has open gym most evenings — $5 as a nonresident to enter. That’s where I go when I get my indoor hoops itch.
That's why I fear signing up for a muni community center
Altair apartments tore em down. Used to be the best courts in the city right off forty. Anyone remember? Always had games going there.
Wait, like the ones that were there last summer? They’re gone?
Why aren’t there basketball courts? Racism.
7 decades of systemic racism and the assumption that basketball courts attract young black people which then leads to crime.
And why are there pickleball courts popping up quickly everywhere? Because older white people play that game.
Forest Park has basketball courts planned. Reality is that STL just isn't a big basketball city right now.
STL just isn't a big basketball city right now.
That ain't the reason
Don’t say the real reason I’m too fragile to face it.
It's one of the reasons. If STL was a big basketball city, there would be a lot more basketball courts.
We were and still could be. The Hawks were an STL team. I’m an old head in his early 40s that grew up on the WGN Bulls run and MJ. This city would be great to have an NBA team. Indy, Chi Town, Memphis and Milwaukee around us. I understand the economics but still think this city would kill it. OKC kinda vibes
They were here for 13 years nearly 60 years ago.
Yep. Glad your math checks out too. Still stand by my statement.
I would probably invest a fair amount in tickets if we had a team. It’s always a good time when I go in Memphis.
Exactly! I’d be in the same boat. Been to OKC and it was electric. Our town could double that.
I’m getting season tickets instantly if we ever get a team
That’s bullshit, it’s a racist city but St. Louis loves basketball, some of the best players in the NBA are from here.
bingo
If you're talking about an actual court or half-court I have no clue. Mathilda Park has a couple of hoops above asphalt or concrete.
There’s some at royal gate park in Warson woods and ivory Crockett park in Webster
What are we on year 60 of degradation of public goods rather than viewing them as points of pride for the community with a shared responsibility to keep the commons nice?
AB Green Park is pretty nice
Iirc the uhuru folks were trying to build one
A lot of north side courts have closed as the population has shifted to north county. We know why the once south were closed in the 80s.
Don't break your brain trying to figure this one out. "Open and shut case, Johnson."
Join a gym that has a basketball court. Hobbies aren’t free.
New courts in TGS
The new courts in Forest Park are almost finished.
