this is scary but i normally just make ambient music and play piano, and im not a singer lol
It sounds really nice, but I can't hear you over your guitar! Could you post your lyrics in the comments?
yes ofc
Verse 1:
throwing stones into the creek
how could i tell you
that you write poems when you speak
i found my home, brand new
Christmas lights don’t seem scary
holding hands in the backseat
the pumpkin patch could be a memory
Thats lovely man:)
Not a fan. Of your legs.
ouch?
Sorry man. It was a tasteless joke.
I like the vibe of the lyrics. It really evokes that wintery chill time of year along with the open strings ringing in those chords.
Keep going with the theme. I find the hardest part is getting a starting point lyrically and you’ve managed to get that going. Now it’s a matter of brainstorming more lines.
I usually put lyrics in my phone app and often at night when I’m lying in bed I’ll think of new lines to add. I’ll keep it really open at first and then once I get a whole bunch of verses I’ll edit or rearrange the order.
Nice work!
thank you so much, writing cohesive lyrics without it being cheesy, or littered with metaphors is so hard.
Also the leg joke made me cackle btw
Yes, and it’s a skill like any other craft. Like a painter or a sculptor, we get better the more we do it.
I think people wrongly assume that because we speak a language and can write it down that writing words for a song should be relatively simple but of course it is not. Not if we want to get to that special place with our art. We need to reach beyond everyday language and find new and artful ways of expressing the age old trials and emotions of humanity.
could you post the chords? i want to learn this
Tuning is Open Db,
And it goes IV-vi-V for most of this verse,
i can also make a full chord chart
damn dude this is awesomeeeee!!! Keep it up!
Waiting for the change. Find one and make it perfect. Don’t settle because the riff is nice.
I can see this becoming a well produced song once you get this into a DAW, good luck to ya man.
Lovely chord progression and touching lyrics - keep it up!
thank you!
Got yourself a classic indie folk sandwich right there sir.
Excellent very sentimental sounding. I like the chord progression and general indie vibe. Get this in daw I could see this turning into a great production
