Picked up and restored a center console from a 2005 Yukon Denali. The rubberized paint was trashed and the cupholder had separated from the trim. Little bit of time, effort, abs slurry, and graphite plastidip had it looking and working like new again. Swapped in the rear vent ducting and kept the rear vent panel and cup holder from the silverado CC. Just have to cut a duct relief in the center console storage box to have that back in.
Now do the cluster too
Still one of my favorite interiors to be honest. Those seats alone are easily the most comfortable ones any truck manufacturer has ever done.
Awesome job dude.
Has anyone ever dropped in a CC conversion to a LS bench seat model? Like remove the jump seat. I found the whole center console/glove box kit on eBay but it’s freakin expensive. But I wonder if it quite literally is bolt on and ducting. Thanks
Thank you. Avoid those ebay CCs IMO, they are complete rip offs. Junkyards will sell you one for way less, and can be made new again for the cost of some paint stripper and SEM interior spray paint.
The center console itself is a bolt in part, but you'll need the additional plastic bracket that bolts to the dash as well, so try and make sure whatever CC you get has that. It's the one that the CC secures to with 2 10mm(?) silver bolts.
You'll also need to either get the matching dash knee trim on the driver side and glove box trim on the passenger side, or cut your existing trim to fit, because the CC is slightly larger than the cup holder that's there now. Can definitely be done on the cheap.
Aside from that, you'll also have to run your own power lines to the 12v ports, and unless you already had a CC with ducting, you'll be missing the under dash connection for it, so I wouldn't bother.
Let me know if you got other ?'s
This was the number one mod to to back in 99-06 years. Still one of the best. Nice work
