A calm and quiet Siamese kitten. Any other meezers like this?

They're all different, really. They have some common traits, but some are calmer than others, or less talkative. How long have you had her?

I will also say that I have found females not to be quiiiiiiiite as wild as the males, but others milage may vary on that.

The more you talk to her the more she will start to talk back. Depending on how many in her litter can factor into personalities. Maybe she had two other siblings who were louder and crazier and she just molded to be opposite. Depending on how long she's been with you can factor in as well. She could be shy and slowly warming up. I've had a cat like this....honestly I don't think the breeder played with her or did much. I went out and got a few toys played with her...not very long after it seemed like a light switch went off and she became a loony one. I must have turned her hunting instincts.. Sapphire is adorable and has a great name!

My baby miso is a little vocal only when you say hi or come around him he'll greet you but he's not very talkative, he's also playful but not super hyper just curious ! Don't think there's anything wrong, just different personalities.

Give it a while lol. Mine was the same until about 2yrs old.

Our Siamese rescue came to us timid and a bit traumatized so she was pretty quiet the first few months. She was about three years old then.

At first we never heard her meow except when “hunting” during her play time.

Five years later she has conversations with all of us and usually only speaks when she is addressed directly. Such a funny, polite little lady ❤️

If you can muster up a credible “meow” sound, meow at her. I used to meow at our Siamese; he meowed back. If she doesn’t meow back when you’re looking her in the eye, maybe you need remedial meow lessons. Or maybe she’s not much of a conversationalist.

If she doesn’t meow when you stand behind her and meow, maybe she’s hard of hearing.

My almost 3 yo boy is our physically biggest meezer out of all 4 (all males), and he still has the tiniest mews. I sometimes mix his mews up with our 9 mo kitten's mews. However, my 15 yo (who is our smallest-even our kitten has outgrown him) can be crazy loud when he wants attention. He's got the "typical" meezer meow down. Our middle man is pretty quiet except for when he "catches" a toy and looks for us to present it to. And our 9 mo can be loud when he wants to be, but is generally on the quiet side.

She is observing, judging and planning out her methods for the best times to wake you up with cuddles and cries for treats 😹

Awe, she’s sweet! I had a female Siamese once named Sapphire. I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. Some cats are just less vocal than others.

Our sweet Meezer, Gabriel, is very self-actualized. He's perfectly happy with his own company and will let you know when he is ready to share his preciousness.

I have 3 oriental shorthair. All from same mom/dad but 2 separate litters.

My first 2 are so talkative. They yell at me for treats multiple times a day. They always want to be near me and are the loudest, most chatty cats I've ever seen.

My youngest is 1. He was a singleton (no siblings). His papers say chocolate point oriental but basically, he is siamese. He almost never speaks. He cried 3x on the way to the vet recently for a checkup. So I know he has a voice. He just doesn't like to use it.

He is definitely not calm, though. He runs around, drags toys around the place, rearranges the pictures on my walls (literally has torn several down), and does acrobatics when we play birdie (fishing pole toy).

I've had over half a dozen color points of various flavors in my lifetime, and they have ranged from LOUD to quiet and demure. Some of them talk all the time, some only talk when they're demanding something, one poor guy only became super vocal when he was very, very old and probably stricken with kitty dementia. Even within a breed, cats have their own personalities.

They tend to grow into their personalities.

Some are quiet, some take a little time to warm up to the situation/environment.

My rescue was about 8 years old when we found him and was quiet and skittish for about a year or two.

Now he's very chatty and affectionate, occaisionally demanding.

Mine was the other way around, kinda vocal as a kitten but when after a year, no meows, you could barely hear her purr lol, low volume.

My girl was the same…for the first few months. As she recovered (got her sick from the shelter) and got comfy with me the volume went up lol. I talk to her a lot and am responsive to her meows because I love vocal cats and wanted to encourage it. That seemed to bring her out of her shell!

I had a very timid chocolate lynx point female who was pretty quiet and low noise, but she had play periods, and she bitched me out if I'd been gone too long. I enjoyed both. Heavy duty purring and kneading at bedtime and always slept on my belly. Sometimes she'd jump down in the middle of the night, run into the closet and scream. Then come back, climb aboard, and go back to sleep.

I have a much more bold and active brown faced blue eyed cat now and she warbles, mews like a kitten, is much more intrusive, but not lots of talking. Seems like they vary, like any cat.

We have a Lynx Point girly called Regina. She is very soft spoken, and communicated primarily by her body language and pokes with her paw.

At the end of the day, every kitty is different.

How long have you had her? I have two Siamese sisters that started off quiet but after few months they got comfortable and yell all the time lol

Recently adopted brother and sister kittens; the girl is significantly calmer, the boy can be a fierce little beast

They’re both pretty cuddly, he’s more forthcoming and wakes us up by jumping up onto the bed and couch and such, he’s also much more vocal, and louder when meowing.

He’s much more aggressive when they play, she’s getting pretty aggressive but he’s a li’l tiger

Mine runs me ragged energy-wise, but is very quiet outside of mealtimes! So it really does just depend on the cat. I got him a kitten so he’d give me and my old lady a break 😂

A have a seal point meezer that just quietly sits in my lap. Very mellow even as a kitten.

Mine is quiet and lazy, er...calm. It threw me for a loop at first but as I've grown to know him better I've come to really appreciate it, and I can see his individuality and quirkiness more easily the longer I know him. :)

My sweet girl is pretty chill and has been since she was a kitten. She has moments when she plays and acts silly but overall she just loves to eat and sleep. She is very vocal, especially when there’s food involved.

This is a bit beside your question, but I suggest not feeding her when you wake up. I think it is a way to train them to wake you up in the morning. On the other hand, you might be free feeding so that is not an issue. She is a 😍

The degree of wild/playful really changes cat to cat, and can change from kitten to adult. My girl is very playful, but mostly only when she sees a toy, or something like string, that's a toy to her. She's VERY vocal, but is almost always soft and gentle with her meows. To my understanding, the biggest, most well known siamese traits are the chattiness (whether it's smoked 6 packs a day for 65 years yelling or the gentle, soft, smooth "please pet me" meows) and the high attention needs. I love super affectionate cats, and I ADORE vocal cats, so to me, it was a no trainer.

As she's a kitten, give her plenty of time to establish her personality. Kittens usually sleep a lot, and frequently play a lot. They have a lot of energy, whatever they use it for, and need tons of sleep and tons of food. They have such high calorie needs that they need to have specific kitten food.

It's a new cat so it's been to the vet for a checkup right? If the vet gave it 2 thumbs up then you're good.

lol. No. My Meezer is noisy and cranky and playful! But every cat has its own personality, just like people, so it sounds like your cat just has a calm, sweet personality!

The stereotype is often true but it is not 100%. My mom's siamese had a tiny squeak for a meow. Of the 5 siamese I have had they all had loud meows but varied in how much they spoke. 3 talked your ear off, and sometimes even seemed to talk just to talk. My last girl talked when she had something to say, I want food, I want attention, but otherwise didn't talk. My other girl didn't talk a lot, but when she did it was loud. My current boy talks about everything, I want something, I am mildly dissatisfied with the current situation, I like the sound of my loud meows, I think I will meow now, not sure why but why not. Also the siamese energy varies. 3 of my 5 were crazy energetic, with the other two being more normal cat like in that department, sleeping a lot as adults.

I have 2 cats from the same litter. Brother and sister. One is tux/siamese mix and one is a true blue siamese. My tux trills and is waayyy more vocal then my meezer. She is vocal but only when she wants some attention or food. So its just cat personalities. Meezers are literally the best & I dont think i would get any other kind of cat.

All kittens need another kitten and without it they get loud and urgent for attention.

Since since often people buy these animals purebred or slightly purebred they're expensive and they only get one and that's a huge mistake.

Got 2 male meezers and one is super quiet as well. Could possibly be she's depressed though? Or else she's just a calm kitty it happens.

Your baby looks like a cross (Siamese Mix) although some Siamese mixes can be vocal (Mine WAS) but he's more quiet now. He's 13 now.
