Someone in my city swapped this 2007 Civic into a pick-up. Put it for sale for $4000 CAD and sold in less than 1 day lol.
SUDDENLY.....UTEAnd I'm interested in the Accord (I think?) in the foreground.. 🤔
That is either an rsx with a civic front end or a civic with an rsx rear end, also turned into a Ute
It's a Del Sol with an 8th gen Civic front bumper and grill and an '02-'04 Acura RSX rear bumper, tail lights, and trunk lid.
Oh shit you’re right, I just thought it was a del sol and didn’t look into it lmao
It's is a delsol...
Ok so I wasn’t bugging. Now I’m just as confused but with a slight sprinkling of vindicated
I had 2, one with an em1 front end and one with a 96 gsr front end.
Del sol with rsx rear end and civic front is absolutely wild but now looking at the roof better I do see it
Not my style, or what I need, but it absolutely could work for certain small-truck use cases. Its pretty well done. I'd consider this: "huh. That's kinda neat" rather than "shitty".
It’s perfect for me to haul my lawnmower to my in-laws or a half dozen bags of mulch home in. I’d be proud to rock this.
It's perfect for me to haul my in-laws.
“That’s kinda neat” was my initial reaction. It looks well done tbh.
Shut up and take my money
I want to know what's up with the del sol in the background🤣
They’re going to stretch it
Look at the first and last pics, has some weird civic front molded, and the rear is an RSX lol
I didn’t realize it was the same car!
From the looks of it buddy is one hell of a body guy
I’ve seen people put EG civic front ends on Sols before but this is definitely a first with the Acura stuff
These UTE kits are so fucking awesome. People crave a small car with a truck bed and I have the same urge. Good shit.
A Mk4 Golf, or Jetta, with a wvo-converted TDI would make an excellent ute.
That’s a thing.
Just saw one of these at the gambler 500 lol
My idea is for Nissan to bring back the Datsun. Make it a four-wheel drive electric motor or hybrid, battery weight real low. Retro feel. Be super sweet!
I’d buy it for $4,000
Perfect for my farm. My road vehicle only goes to the store and gas station. I need street abilities with no compromise for "off-roading", the ability to haul 10 five gallon gas cans without getting the carpet icky, and great gas milage. Kei Truck or this, and this is 6k cheaper.
Right?! The cheapest (nice) one I can find right now is a '97 Honda Acty and it's $8400US. Acty
That's a cool site, thanks. They really fit this particular niche really well and there are a lot of us who make do. Like, put a gas can in a large plastic bag. Put on floor of good car. Drive very carefully to gas station and back.
But if I could find a chopped honda/toyota for 4k? I'm on it!
I use plastic-lined milk crates. Holds a 5g can nice and snug. (At least my particular brand/shape.)
I like that idea!
The Civline
Try and find a running pickup truck for $4KCDN in Ontario and you will soon understand how this sold in a day.
I'd honestly just buy it because it's neat.
Alberta btw. I'd drive it for the giggle factor alone
I've started making choices based on the giggle factor, I've never been happier.
Life is way too short to take seriously
Shitty definitely not that is extremely well done
I’d love to see more UTEs in the states
I think that's rad as hell
I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
It would be nice to haul gas cans and other items as such.
Lol basically the same cargo hold as today's brodozer mani-vans.
Looks amazing
If it were an SI I’d take it any day lol looks good
If it were an Si, I’d buy it at twice the price.
This looks better than the actual Civic.
Honestly not a bad idea. It's like a mini Ute. I'm sure it's gonna be extremely useful for whoever bought it. You most of the benefits of a truck with all of the benefits of a compact city car. THIS IS WHY WE NEED UTES IN THE US WHY DOESN'T ANYONE LIKE UTES?
because they cant figure out how to pass regulations on mpg and smog while still touting high power engines
Because the manufacturers make more money selling full size trucks.
Civic truck not bad, but that Del Sol Jesus fuck look how they massacred my boy
I like that they left the interior bone stock. It's just a civic, that happens to be a pickup.
This looks great if you take into consideration the conversion post directly above this. 🙄
would 100% buy & love
Ngl that looks super cool and very well executed from what I can see
I can see why; that shit is 🔥
Looks solid
I don’t know if that counts as a shitty car mod. I’d need to inspect the workmanship first. It looks pretty slick from the photos.
Me over here trying to see the RSX Del Sol in the background
EDIT: Nope killed it with the Civic front end. What a shame. RSX front clip probably would’ve been sick
I would have bet that most of the comments here would be about the finger and not the modded car.
I sit corrected.
Looks like a big slip on house shoe or slipper lol
Its a kit
I’m so confused. Is the Civic not a unibody car? How can you cut the back half off like that and not ruin the frame’s integrity?
He has talent I want more pictures of the car in the background....
Del sol in the background?
if that came from the factory i'd be all over it
$4k is a steal nowadays, especially since it was done so well.
Bro I’d drive the hell out of that, another shitty car mods OP user is on crack.
What’s going on with that del sol next to it? RSX rear end and 8th gen civic front end, lmao.
Looks extremely well done. I think the “UTE” body style fits that model civic quite well
Naw that's so sick. Sorry OP
I’d rock this thing! Impressive work!
Damn, I would daily that. I like odd cars though.
Want. 😅
I miss my 8th gen pretty bad. Would love something like this.
UTE kits, huh?
That is so fucking cool.
Most Australian thing I've seen today
I wish we had more utes in the North American markets. We need small vehicles with beds. I'd love one of these things. Preferably another foot or so in the bed, though, at least long enough to fit a whole sheet of plywood. Or my bike without having to take the front wheel off.
I don't mind that, would like to know more about the del sol converted rsx next to it tho
I knew it had to be from quebec lol
My only fear is how it does in a wreck.
To shred you say.
I think it would be best to not get in a wreck.
Yeah I’m very confused as to how you can do this to a unibody car without ruining the structural integrity
It’s the cooler of the 2. Who wouldn’t want a targa top honda pickup? And with the hood bulge I have a feeling there’s some sort of spicy motor in it, possibly with forced induction
Bro that’s a Ridgeline - Honda actually makes the and sells them
Joking aside, the ridgeline is on the accord/oddessy platform. I would love a truck on the civic or fit platform.
I used to love mobbing my parents Odyssey around - took out all the seats to help my brother move, and that thing had some guts without all the weight.
Now I just mob my Fit-150 - it’s moved more good than my actual F150 lol
It's like the Ridgeline mini istg.
Ridgeline has always been a Pilot with a bed... a civic with a bed seems absolutely plausible in this hype for smaller trucks market. Make it look less like my grandma's slippers and I bet this could compete with the maverick
I wish my Fit had an open bed all the time. But then I see things like Bajas, and decide no. Car is no truck
Not bad at all....
Wonder how the register it seeing how it’s not technically a civic anymore
Swapped?
this is good
That is some real Quebecois engineering right there
my translator says that word should sound like "CAB-eh-kwah"
Is that correct?
Yet, the French translator says "KEE-bee-kwah".
Is that the new El Camino?
This is cool as fuck idk what you’re saying
4000 CAD is a decent price for a relatively late model Honda anything, if it runs well.
I’ll take a Civic ute.
Ugly but cool. Like Subaru…….. and me.
I don't hate it
Reasonable price as well.
Bring back small trucks. Fuck are manufacturers thinking selling shitty behemoths.
Im not gonna lie this is actually kinda sick
I dig it. OP is lame.
Slipper wheels
Come with me and let’s slip awayyyyyy lol 💀
I’d rock that.
Cool but wtf is that gray Civic Del Sol RSX thing
I don’t know; I kinda like it. It’s unique in a way that it’s something you never seen before.
Kinda reminds me of an au falcon
Well...It actually doesn't belong on this page. I want to see closer pics.
Honestly, if I didn´t knew what a Civic is and saw that on the street, I would have tought it´s an actual production car. It looks to be really well made.
I actually like this I’m ngl
Looks pretty clean, I bet Brendan Schaub would buy it r/thefighterandthekid
That's excellent.....well worth 4k
So basically it's a Ford Maverick at home.
Put underglow and some speakers on the back
Nah, Smyth hasn’t done anything with Hondas.
If you want a shitty car-truck, they already make the Ridgeline.
Looks well done.
