{Truth or Beard} is another favourite of mine. More spicy than Beth O’Leary but not by a huge amount.

{Seduction of a Psychopomp by Elsie Winters} - MF, fantasy. MMC is a reaper who is very sweet. FMC is a fairy princess who has to marry the reaper in order to save her life from a mysterious incurable illness.

{Lady of Rooksgrave Manor by Kathryn Moon} features monster/paranormal MMCs and is very sex positive!

Basically everything by Kathryn Ann Kingsley.

For contemporary {The Bad Guy by Celia Aaron} had fantastic dub-con scenes, the whole book wasn't too heavy for what is considered a "dark romance"

For historical {Hummingbird by Lavyrle Spencer} has some of the best dubcon scenes I've ever read. I believe in the 80s when it was written she was going for more of a "body betrayal" vibe. This book is fantastic. I live for 3rd person narration where you can get inside both of the characters heads to get their thoughts in real time during the scenes.

Have you read any Cassandra Gannon? {Love In the Time of Zombies} has a golden retriever shifter MMC who's secretly devoted to his human admin assistant FMC (she doesn't know) ... and then zombies attack. This is such a fun read!

I just finished {People we meet on vacation} and loved it. The MMC is crazy about FMC. A couple years ago I read {Ugly Love} and that was a little more twisted. I’m now looking for something similar..

{Fangirl Down by Tessa Baily} was a 5 star read for me, but it doesn't match most of your requested tropes.

Maybe {Out on a Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young}. ONS at a party leads to MMC supporting FMC through her pregnancy.

My two top recent reads are also sub favorites:

{Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold by Ellen O’Connell} MF, set in late 1800’s Colorado, very powerful and moving, angsty (because of external circumstances), TW for attempted sexual assault, violence, and anti-Native American racism (MMC’s mother was Cheyenne).

{Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid} MM, contemporary hockey romance, rivals to lovers, taboo relationship (both because MM and because they are on rival teams), super well written.

Sorry they don’t feature your preferred tropes, but they are both great reads.

{Worth Every Step by K.G. MacGregor} (F/F, CR(climbing, expiration date, forced proximity, queer awakening, teacher), 4⭐️) CW: Spoiler - They're climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro together.

{Wild and Wonderful by Anita Kelly} is a lovely MM romance that takes place on the Pacific Crest Trail (and both my libraries have it). Some spice, but not a lot.

{Jock Row by Sara Ney} is a book about very sweet college kids falling in love. The biggest angst is whether or not to take a tropical cruise with his supportive parents.

I just started reading Helen Newbury and think it's exactly what you need. Romantic suspense but the MMC is completely all-in and protective from the first moment of meeting the FMC. All the conflict is external. Try {Deep Woods by Helena Newbury} or {No Hero by Helena Newbury}

{Gone Too Deep by Katie Ruggle} strangers to lovers, forced proximity, sweet gentle mmc, external conflict. (Minor/quick separation due to being from different cities, not breakup, and it's not stressful)

It's got a little bit of magic - she casts a spell and accidentally ends up in a parallel life where she never dated her ex - but it's been single POV and her male bestie is definitely in love with her and has been since they met 4 years ago, and she doesn't have a clue.

Please tell me you have read {Beach Read by Emily Henry} or {The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood} or {Bride by Alie Hazelwood} or {Love. Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood} - because they are all gold standards.

Silent Vows is probably the worst one in the series. You can read these all as standalone they’re all so different.

I absolutely hated Silent Vows and liked the MMC in {Ruthless Salvation by Jill Ramsower} so much more! Better story and sassier FMC IMO.

Enemies to lovers, one of the MC is a bodyguard at a coffee shop ... try {Loverboy by Sarina Bowen} or {Rock Chick Series by Kirsten Ashley}

Before Lorraine Heath wrote English historical romance, she was known for her historical westerns and I loved them. They’re all good but a few of my favorite ones are {m - {Texas Destiny by Lorraine Heath} - {A Rogue in Texas by Lorraine Heath} - {Sweet Lullaby by Lorraine Heath} - {Always to Remember by Lorraine Heath}

Alexis Harrington, Pamela Morsi, and LaVyrle Spencer also wrote some of my favorite historical western romances.

Honestly, all things Beverly Jenkins! Read the descriptions until you find one you like, they're pretty much all wonderful!

I recently read {Caines Reckoning by Sarah McCarty} and was intrigued by this series. Check triggers because times are rough when they find the FMC.

You might like {Bride by Ali Hazelwood}

It’s contemporary romance about a werewolf and vampire. Spicy enemies to lovers, and I’d say slowish burn but with a good amount of sexy tension!

You might like {Feed by Aveda Vice} and {Yours, Insatiably by Aveda Vice}. Feed is a prequel short story (a long short story, if you will) that is pretty much just spice and Yours, Insatiably had more spice pretty much right away. It is F/NB, rivals to lovers, succubus and hawkmoth fae.

Not quite as front loaded with spice, but still spicy, {Stalked by the Kraken by Lillian Lark} is MF, about a kraken and a matchmaker witch whose family runs a bathhouse and collects the magic that sexual encounters releases.

{Good Enough to Eat by Alison Grey and Jae} (F/F, PNR, 4½⭐️)
Overview: Robin is a vampire who's trying to quit drinking blood so she starts attending A.A. meetings; she meets Alana there and they develop a relationship.
Likes: I've read an embarrassing number of vampire books, so my standards are high for the genre; this book had a novel premise and superb execution. I'm definitely going to read other books by both authors. My only complaint is that I wish there was a series of books instead of just a short story {Coitus Interruptus Dentalis}.
Steam: medium, open door, several explicit scenes
Perspective: Robin, Alana
Tropes: addiction, slow-burn

He also kills a lot of people and has been stalking FMC for years and manipulates her into marrying him. You win some you lose some, amirite?
