did anyone get a response? just curious
I would be careful with this too. Depending on how many units there are and when leases are up, there might be enough information in that post to identify OP. Or at least get a pretty good guess.
Landlord seems predatory. But he also unfortunately holds power over his tenants, and doesn't appear afraid to do some shady things
Lmao it is way too fucking late to be careful, people were all up and down that thread (and this one) saying they were using the phone number in every possible way. OP even said in the original post that they left the contact info on there on purpose. At that point the LL might even be able to consider legal avenues or eviction if he can prove who it is.
Edit: The idea isn’t that OP posted public information, it’s that he posted it with the intent of harassment, he said he left the contact info up there because the LL was a scumbag, and the obvious subtext is to use that contact info to fuck with the LL. That’s called doxxing.
The OOP did nothing illegal. All of that contact information is publically available on the Property Management companies website. All the information was factual, and there's nothing illegal about saying "this company sucks don't rent from them." OP didn't incite any harassment, there would have to be some explicit call to action.
TRUTH^ it is not illegal to slander someone if what you say is the truth. That makes it in fact, no slander, but in fact, a fact.
I doubt he is still living there. He talked about the landlord keeping the security deposit and claiming $10,000 which were dismissed.
Doxxing private individuals, but if a business has their contact information up, it’s assumed that they want to be contacted.
Giving out information on businesses has never been illegal.
Doxxing is illegal in like three states, California, Illinois and Arizona. The only federal statue around it is if it’s a federal employee and then it falls under conspiracy laws. Nothing OP did was illegal in the state of PA.
Redditors are not smart.
Eviction? Dudes not paying a 100% increase let the eviction happen I could make 6 figures but try and pull a 100% increase and I just became a squatter.
It's not illegal to post a property manager's prices.
I think OP is gonna be totally fine. If he has listed the number its probably the office numbers lets hope its the office number. Lets really hope its his personal lol

Guy called me a few mins after I texted. I didn’t answer because I didn’t want to get “that” involved, just doing my part, but it confirmed for me they got the message.
I just texted him from my burner number (at 1:40 AM). I'll let you know how it goes. I delight in using my spare time to fuck with scammers, so this should be a fun new venture.
Edit: He never responded, he knows we're onto him.
I kept trying to call as well to say shit to him, but obviously the pussy has it go straight to voicemail. So I just used his name, phone and email to sign him up for a bunch of scamming places.
This is what happens when you try to act all greedy and think it's okay.
Someone could throw a picture of a cheap Honda on Craigslist and put “$250” and list this phone number. It would def add to the confusion for the guy!
Not yet
the number instantly went to answering.
what you shouldnt do is send fake inquests, actual emails that would require someone to think, respond, schedule, and do stuff as if it was real work thus wasting time and resources.

That’s a wicked idea
Wicked in the best possible way.
I mean my rent goes up $50 in August. Went up 50 2 years ago. Can’t really knock my landlord
Dang, my apartment is brand new, not even 2 years old yet, and they already raised our rent $317

You can sign someone for cat facts that sends an email either once, twice, thrice, and even frice times day.
Frice 😂
that would be beneficial though? im confused
I did that to my MIL when she was on vacation out of the country. When she turned on her phone back at home, she had about 200 texts and got calls three times a day. She immediately knew it was me.... And she was my landlord.
I would enjoy this because I love cats lol but that could get annoying

Hahahahahahahaha I just checked this out. I'm adding someone right now. Lmao
Diabolical lol
The Mormons will visit "you" if you ask them and give "your" address and phone number.
Also, and I am in no way suggesting that you lie or manufacture a reason, but the IRS is always interested in any suspicious activity that landlords engage in. (Again. Don't waste federal governments time, but any rent requests for cash, any offbeat charges etc should be at least sent to them for review.)
Signed him up for a few crisis pregnancy centers.
Lmao!!
Furrydelphia goes wild ngl
Fur, fur, furrydelphia, fur, fur, furrydelphia
Dee, you bird
You're a legendary monster.
Omg the scientology people won't ever leave him alone.
I used his email to sign him up for beastiality news letters
May I introduce you to Peter Popoff https://peterpopoff.org?
That's so deliciously evil, I love it lol.
Although I feel compelled to ask... what's Furrydelphia? I'm a little afraid to so much as Google it for fear of any repercussions lol.
Just looks like a bog standard furry convention.
Isn't there a popular show by that name, "it's Always Furry in Philly"? It seems like it's Philly's answer to Portlandia.

Are you for hire?
Furrydelphia seems out of place lol. It's like "religion, religion, religion, Animefest"
After reading your comment I pictured you doing this from a phone booth or at the top of building. Just like Crash Override and Acid Burn from the movie Hackers.

You my guy are evil. And I love it
Don’t forget to make a $1 donation with his email to both Trump and Biden just to drive him insane.
I didn't even realize that the phone number was on the letter. I was second handed pissed and went right to google reviews before I got to the end of the letter
Did you find the Google reviews? I couldn’t find it
All the negative ones are locked out of the standard view.
I can’t even find the Google page to leave a review
I googled “3 horizons property management,” and got it. It’s 3 stars, but the only reviews that popped up started a month ago as the most recent, it was a 5. Nothing less than 4 was visible.
Someone should post a 5 star review and leave a negative review
Yea no don't do that. It'll be harder to review bomb and no one really reads 5 star reviews.
Fake reviews are also the easiest thing to get taken down, so there’s really no point
I sent him a picture of my taint.
I fucking love this guy.

I was wondering what you were doing down there
As a woman, I’d never be ok with you doing this unsolicited to anyone. But I’m having a really hard time having an issue with this landlord asshole looking at your asshole. 🤷🏻♀️
I aim to please. Also please know I’d never do this unsolicited to anyone undeserving.

This is fantastic. I bow before your wordplay.
And now I have to go tell this to my brother because he'll piss himself laughing.
By all means, spread the word. That was the saying we always used to describe it.
I also had a friend who grew up calling it a “grundle.” He didn’t have a fun saying, but grundle is pretty fun to say on its own.

This is the first comment I’ve audibly laughed at in years on this website jesus fuck man. Its so stupid too.
Can I get a taint pic? I promise to increase my cat’s rent 500%
Oh man so you sent the landlord specific information about the person who posted it… so now he can go after them legally for “doxxing” him? 😬🫠🤔 who’s side are you on lol
yeah this is what I was also confused on- sending a screenshot of identifiable info for OP’s post could potentially harm them here, not help….
… Congrats to OP for successfully assisting in ruining 2 peoples lives.
We did it Reddit!
Yeah this is a really dumb move, this subreddit is gonna get dude in more trouble.
If even 1/10 of the comments about contacting/sending pics to the landlord are true, then the sub has already gotten OP in serious civil trouble.
This is not going to end well. If the landlord is as scummy as they say, he was just handed ammo for a legal case. He could possibly force an eviction now too
Guy wasn’t renewing anyway. He’s not under NDA. Contact information for the business is public. OP didn’t ask people to harass landlord.
Unlikely anything happens
The landlord still has this guy’s deposit. And now a reason to be vindictive.
Guaranteed nothing happens, these people saying otherwise are morons
I don't think making a public review of a landlord/property management company is illegal, just like any business.
Yup. This is legally protected free speech. Everyone has the right to complain about shitty business practices, especially on social media. Now, if he somehow got the guy's home number that isn't publicly available, and encouraged others to call and harass him at home, then you're getting into illegal territory.
How is this post still up?
At the same time OP should have blocked out the contact information. However, everyone who is texting the landlord is most likely making OPs life worse and could get him in legal trouble.
Ya’ll aren’t as cool or funny as you think you are. Don’t meddle in someone else’s business.
Also people lie. The entire story and letter could have been fabricated for all we know and now some innocent person has to deal with this. The risk just isn't worth it to me.
Why is that in quotes like that’s not what the guy did? Fight a shithead by being a shithead I guess.
All the landlord has to do is go through his sent emails for ones that match the prices in the post
OP was an idiot to post this shit to begin with, let’s be real. What could go wrong?
For real though. Why did you throw my man under the bus like that OP?
And harassment.

Hey dipshit, why’d you post identifiable info from OP???
Get their ass!
Why’d you out OP like this?
Op outed himself.
Why on earth would you send OPs post? Dense move
We did it Reddit! We stopped bad guy!
Is this post kind of doxxing OP to the landlord?
Not even the landlord, just the flying monkey the landlord sent with the bad news. Property managers don’t own the property nor do they set rental rates. That’s why they couldn’t “work with” these folks. They have no authority to. Y’all are over here shooting the messenger that’s all.
I texted the number and told him he should be ashamed of himself, and he called me a few mins later. I didn’t answer because I’m a bitch but it confirmed there was someone on the other end receiving things.
Bravest redditor 🫡
I tried to look them up, this "David" guy privated his website and either did the same or deleted the social media links.
I think it's safe to say that he noticed all of the spam calls and texts and all of the spam to his email.
If you search the domain, you'll see a website... but they took everything down except the 'coming soon' page.
They reap what they sow
Snitch
Is it possible he was just doing his job or does he own the company?
It's a property management company. This guy works for the owner. I don't really feel a ton of sympathy because he could say "we don't do unethical rent hikes as a matter of policy, and if that s problem, find a different PM company."
But still... the guy on the letter didn't raise the rent. This is an example of shooting the messenger.
My landlord calls himself the "Property Manager" also when he thinks I might be unhappy. He says "They need this form." or "They won't let us do that."
He turned out to be a lovely guy and neighbor. But HE is still "They".
I came here to say the same thing. If he’s a property manager working for a management firm, he may not have a ton of control over the initial rent hike, just the negotiations for concessions and reductions after the initial offer. Most of the time the hikes are based on comparative market data and proposed (these days) by revenue AI programs.
That said, all the shit he’s getting will - or should - be trickling up to the area manager, regional manager, VP of operations, even up to the CEO.
The better options than attacking the guy personally and directly would be to leave horrible reviews citing the rate hikes on Google, Apartment Ratings, Apartments.com, and literally any internet listing service possible. That’ll impact their metrics the most.
Also, I checked the management company’s website and it’s basically non-functional. Either it’s brand new, or it’s gone to shit. And if they’re increasing rents by 100% it’s entirely possible the entire company is going to hell already.
Did anybody read the holdover offer in the listed letter? Not only did they double rent, but for a comfy additional $1,900 they’ll let you rent month to month! Am I reading this right? From $1,350 to $4,600 a month to go month to month if you need some extra time to find another place to live?
That isn’t predatory, that’s somehow way worse That is pure evil greed
Sent him a picture of a huge shit I found online.

You what now?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
As long as it was wild..
As much as this is awesome I do worry for the original op. The landlord will def be able to identify this person. The letter says its a two bedroom 950sqft apartment with two occupants who were there for three years. It even includes the original price. Then it includes the price hike. It wont take much to narrow down who this is. If I posted similar info about my apartment I am sure the landlord would be able to figure it out. So I do worry the op just opened themselves up to possible legal jeopardy or potential issues.
This was a dumb move bro. You sent the specific Reddit post. Now he’ll be able to narrow down exactly who outed him
If you Google health insurance quotes and enter his info it'll be 2 weeks of spam calls for him. I've heard of people doing that
Landlords aren’t human beings
Send pics of Mao
Way to make things worst for OP
I understand sending the letter, but why tf would you send the caption lol??
[ Removed by Reddit ]
Weird you’d include his story in the text. Like really weird.
I put his number on grinder saying to send dick pics with a promise of 20 dollars cash app'd for butthole pics.
Why did you send him the screenshots???
Nice, now the property manager will know whose post was responsible for the harassment they’re receiving.
Would’ve been much smarter to leave OP out of your messages.
why would you send them screenshots of the post? what a dumb move
Thank you. I've been scrolling so long to find a comment that made sense. Yes, this landlord sucks, etc. etc. but why tf would you send him that screen shot?? Ugh hive mentality is real. I feel an immense amount of second-hand embarrassment.
Anyone created a python script to call him.
Or submit his info to all the car insurance or extended warranty companies.
I may be wrong, but isn't a property manager a middle man between a renter and a landlord? Are you guys just spamming the messenger?
This is true. So they are harassing someone who probably believes the same thing. The manager doesn't make the rules. He doesn't get one dollar of the rent. He makes a salary just like everyone else. Who probably couldn't pay that amount of rent.
Unfortunately this type of increase has been happening all over the country. It's sad. People who normally live alone are having to have roommates. You can make 6 figures and not be able to afford the expenses required to survive.
I’m a lawyer but not your lawyer. Information of this nature is generally considered public warning/ general interest. A valid argument could be made that this tenant was warning other similarly situated tenants of the standards and practices of this landlord. As long as he didn’t doctor the letter, then it would be nearly impossible to bring a slander case even if the original poster explicitly asked you to share your views on this landlords consumer practices.
I’m sure his attorney could argue otherwise but if the letter is genuine then the OP was just letting people know about his business practices which are neither protected speech or private without an NDA.
I’m not sure but isn’t this the property manager not the landlord he just works as the middle man and therefore wasn’t the one to increase the rent?🤔
In the original post, people looked up the guys name and he was listed as the owner as the property. He just conveniently calls himself the property manager probably to avoid any heat he gets from angry tenants.
How did they figure that out? Because I just looked up the property and it’s been owned by a separate LLC with a different registered address than this property management company since 2022. It’s typical to have your lawyer/accountant/etc be the registered address, but how do they know it’s owned by the property manager if everything points to a separate entity?
I live in one of if not the highest COL city in the U.S. I moved into a new build townhome rental a couple years ago under extremely fortunate circumstances- we happened to see the listing on Zillow seconds after it was put up and grabbed the first slot to go view it. Within an hour, there were over 10 confirmed appointments to view the place. Over 25 by the end of the day. We got there and knew immediately that we wanted it. It was very fairly priced for what it was and we told the landlord then and there that we’d take it. I should also add that there were two other townhomes within the same community that was listed at the same time - they also both got taken by the very first people to view them.
We asked for an 18 month lease but the landlord said they only do 12 - he then verbally committed to not raising our rent the following year if we wanted to renew. We didn’t speak again until it came time to renew. True to his word, he let us know our rent would be the same, fully knowing that he could easily have fetched 15-20% more.
All this is to say - your landlord is a fucking scumbag. I respect my landlord so much for sticking to his word. I will pay for every square inch of damage when I leave, and I will be upfront about any potential damages I may have caused. I will leave a good word about him every chance I get. I will respect any rent increases because I know it will come from an honest place. Im not religious or superstitious but I believe karma is truly a thing - everyone gets what they deserve. I hope your landlord goes broke and lives homeless on the street.
This landlord sounds like he operates a predatory lender scheme sort of. "I rent you an apartment, you get sucked in, can't afford to move because I take all your money, and then hangs you by the neck until you're dead!"
Just another rich asshole taking advantage of a broken system. Somebody is going to shoot one of these greedy bastards out here over this kind of theft! They are going to nut up and say, "well, I have nothing left, nowhere to go, I may as well take him with me because I can't move on!"
Probably already has happened. It will eventually because people are becoming fed up with this garbage. Nothing but ripping people off!
You threw the guy under the bus who shared his landlords info. Shouldn’t have done that
Way to snitch on the other OP for snitching
Damn you didn’t have to put the redditor on blast! Lmao you messed up for that
Why would you send that info to the guy?! Now he's going to know EXACTLY who posted his information online. I really hope the original OP doesn't get sued to hell over this.
Actually this sounds like one of these predatory “market rent” pricing property management corporations. These corporations now exist in many major West coast rental markets. Renters are offered “the market price,” as of the date the rental company REQUIRES you to move in, and then typically the renter is permitted to “lock in” that rate for 6 mos, 9 mos, or 12 mos. Typically these agreements include additional fees for any and all extra services such as water, sewer, and trash removal fees. Some also include charges for garage space, pesticide application, and heat at some properties. Most renters are only permitted a 48-hr window to move in, and failure to move in on or by the dates the rental corporation specifies results in the loss of all deposits and negation of the property lease.
Towards the end of the agreed upon lease term, the rental corporation makes a decision about whether to offer a renewal lease. If the company offers one, they typically offer a new rate, which is again based upon the “market rental value” of local properties on that date. The new lease may be more or less than the old lease, and can vary by as much as $50-$300 per month. The renter is also generally offered an option to renew month-to-month, but doing so, generally results is a wildly exorbitant monthly rate.
The Federal Department of Housing has expressed grave concern about these types of private equity rental corporations! They really remove many renters’ rights and make renting in many major cities completely unaffordable. Sure hoping that’s not what you guys have stumbled upon here, but it sure looks that way to me.
Show ‘em some “brotherly love!” Let ‘em know Philly’s not gonna take this! Yo, Philly bros, you got ‘dis! 👊 -In solidarity
I am glad that the Federal Department of Housing is concerned. I doubt that they will do anything about it.
Uh oh this is gonna blow up!
Gonna get me some popcorm
I may or not may not have sent him a screenshot from the iconic movie known as lemon party
funny how every comment is about the harrassment of some random dude to force him to lower his rental price. towing the legal line here.
There is a city in Germany with a landlord owning 100+ buildings who lets people rent in them for way below market standard because he does not want to pull the cash out of the peoples pockets.
The city and state are now trying to legally force him to raise rent because he is hurting a profitable business for the state. There will always be someone reminding you that we are slave ants.
That'll show 'em. Hmph.
Typical slum lord tactics
This is ridiculous. And shame on us for allowing things like this to happen. Idk how to start a bil (Schoolhouse Rock tried to teach me if I remember correctly lol) l but if I did I would absolutely lobby for a landlording bill. This is becoming "normal".
If the market rate is around 100% above the current rent, why is the renter entitled to having a rent way below the market price? You people have no respect for private property. Maybe go start a commune and wallow in your own shit.
CRY ABOUT IT…
Not sure why people are getting angry at OP. I’m not a lawyer, but I imagine unless the original OP signed an NDA stating they would not share contract information this is nothing different from writing a yelp review with pictures. This wouldn’t be considered “doxxing.” Also based on the text seems like the original OP is already out of the apartment (and missing security deposit I guess), but not like the owner/property manager can do much more now.
Also, I hear there are websites with you can put people’s emails and they will get 1000s of emails spamming their inboxes. (Scammers do this when they get access one of your secure profiles and want to bury purchase confirmations/receipts in your inbox)

Cool, they were getting a cheap place to rent in an expensive city.
New owners don't wanna lose money on their purchase. So they are putting rent to market rate.
What's the problem here? Rents around Philly are expensive. When I lived there around 2017 it was 1950 a month for a small two bedroom. If they were getting 1350 a month for years call it a win you got away cheap and move on
Don’t be mad that your rent was adjusted up to market rate, be happy that you paid only half the going rate for so long.
[ Removed by Reddit ]
So, I know it isn’t necessarily the case, but it’s entirely possible, even likely, that the property manager is not the owner of the property and is just a dude doing his job. He may have nothing to do with what the rate of rent is. Very limited information, but just from that one text, it seems the person sending it is a moron. For all we know the renter is a disgusting human being. The entire complex may be planning a party to celebrate him not being there. 100% rent increase could be the easiest way to get him out.🤷🏼♂️
I can understand messaging the shitty landlord, sure, but why include the details from the original post? Why make it easier for the shitty landlord to try to retaliate against the victim here? You may as well have said “Hey! This guy is writing about you online and is giving your information away!”
Theres just not enough information here. It is still possible the previous owner was a saint and that this guy just raised prices to match the area. If so, literally every single one of you “second hand angry” people would do EXACTLY the same. You guys all like to act like if you owned the building youd only be concerned about the well being of your tenants. In the country where “not MY problem” is the driving mentality at every level of society, all you fuckers like to act like selfless activist liberators. Fucking pathetic hypocrisy. Bunch of entitled rotten to the core Americans playing pretend on “how nice they would be” if THEY were the rich ones. Keep chatting amongst yourselves. Yes youre just victims of an imbalance in power, and if the tides were turned the world would be a utopia.
