What is one personal comfort you couldn’t live without?
Random QuestionHot water
I second this
I third this, cannot live without hot water.
Nothing takes the place of a nice hot bath
This is the best answer actually
My alone time.
Well... I live alone so it's everyday for me, now I couldn't think to find a partner because I value my me time so much.
Same here. We should get married. Oh wait…never mind.
I literally LOLed hahaha
I'm married, we've just had to become comfortable telling each other when we need alone time (which usually is every evening after work/dinner). It's helped coming to a mutual understanding that we love each other, we just enjoy a special kind of bliss from being totally alone. We plan most of our activities for our days off, which include a chore day.
This is so beautiful!!
That's so nice. I need alone time but my husband doesn't. After work I swear I'm going to lay in bed alone and hang out but then I want to see him so I don't. But then I eventually get cranky if I don't get the down time.
I live alone too. I feel this in my soul. <3

Same here. I am increasingly happy I chose not to have kids when my friends tell me they can't even poop alone. Yesterday I got a big iced coffee and took myself to the park and read half a book. It was glorious!
I'm an aunt of many many kids, and I love them so much. But I'd rather be the fun aunt and when i get exhausted, I would just go back home to my safe space! Lol.
Yesterday, I treated myself to my favorite Japanese curry and just walked around too. ☺️
I'm 50, and I live alone. I've never had any kids. It's the single biggest regret in my life. Some days, it eats me up inside. I'm a fifth wheel to my brothers family, and thankfully, I get included in most of their family activities, even family holidays. Mine wasn't a conscious decision. Just a series of unfortunate events with a couple of long-term girlfriends. I gave up trying after that. I've got friends that also didn't have kids, and they love it. They're on holidays all the time and stuff like that.
Hopefully, you'll be happy with your decision as you move through life.
I'm sorry for the regrets. So far, I, (30s/F) am enjoying my life. I never imagine having a husband, moreso having kids in this world we have right now.
But who knows things might change in the future, but right now I'm very content.
I had kids in my mid 30s and I think it was perfect. Plenty of time to party / travel before, and I have no idea what I would be doing now without them.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. We can be alone together.
When you just wish that you'll just have an "on-call partner" who would understand how much you need majority of the time alone.
Not sure if you get me but this is what I feel most of the time.
I’ve lived with my girlfriend for 10 years and I mostly run my business from home and love it when she goes to work / goes to her theatre rehearsals a couple of times a week. Honestly though if we ever split up I would never live with anyone else again. Separate front doors and space is the way to go for me.
Same. When I tell people this I often hear "oh but a good partner would give you space and respect your need for some alone time" but I don't want "some" alone time lol I want all of it.
Same. My introversion is a crucial part of my personality
I did live alone and due to circumstances my adult son had to move back. I hate it!! I love him but miss everything that comes with living alone.
Yesssss I love this, there is nothing like it. I even look forward to going home after a really amazing vacation so I can hermit for a bit
A toilet. I couldn’t imagine having to drop a turd anywhere else.
This is so relatable
You do what you have to when you find yourself touching cloth and nowhere near a toilet
Lol, oh god
Okay when I first saw this post I thought “nothing, there’s nothing I’m not all that attached to, I could probably skate by without a lot of things”
But honestly, yeah, taking a dump anywhere else just wouldn’t feel right, and it’s wierd, cuz I could probably go without some arguably much more important things, like hot water
This is what my initial response was at first too but the idea of having to poo in the open or some shrubs where a racoon with rabies could bite me in the anus as I’m pushing makes me freak out.
I, of course, thought of the worst and most dramatic situations because what else is my brain gonna do besides find ways to give me heart palpitations? 😅
I never knew I needed this visual until I read this comment, and now my day is complete knowing that there are raccoons out there in society longing to nibble on butts. Thank you kind lady.
When I was a kid I was on one of my yearly forced camping trips with my father in the middle of the forest. He did not believe me when I said there was something moving at the bottom of the old fashioned wooden outhouse I was being made to use. He got mad at me and told me to just get in and do my business. I was just about to poop and he starts yelling at me to come out now because there was something down there. I quickly come outside and from the pits of hell out waddles a freaking porcupine from a hole underneath. That was the day I almost pooped on a porcupine. As an adult I refuse to camp with my scouting obsessed husband and kids, F that noise.
✨Brilliant story!✨👍👍
Thank you for your story. This solidifies my point.
I can imagine it, don’t be too far away from a toilet if you have any stomach issues
Clean underwear
My dog - especially when she rests her head on my knee and falls asleep
That's not a comfort : That's a family member!
Coffee
While some people hoard toilet paper, I hoard coffee. My biggest fear in case of apocalypse is no coffee.
My bidet
Life changing
THIS. I was literally having a discussion about this some days ago and the whole room agreed that we could never live without it because we all wash ourselves multiple times per day, especially in summer or during menstruation, reaching also 6/7 washes
I live in the USA where these things are basically non-existent to the public eye. I suggested getting one to my ex and she looked at me so weird and was like "um I don't want water spraying on my butthole, that's so weird lol" like REALLY, is it as weird as scrubbing a dry paper on your anus and smearing fecal matter all over your undercarriage?
well, there must be somebody who finds it weird, but where i live, it's totally normal. also, that is not the proper use of a bidet: you should face the tap/faucet. Not everybody knows or does this because it's a bit uncomfortable as you have to remove your pants and underwear or at least, remove them from a leg, but i assure you the feeling is way better. I face the tap when i want to relax and expose my butt to the tap when I'm in a rush. (English isn't my 1st language, execuse me if grammar isn't right at times)

Me, a Floridian.
I actually hate AC :D. Open window and fresh breeze is the best.
I always run hot. I hate being hot. I love air conditioning so much
Im the exact opposite. I love being hot. The summer sun and low humidity gives me so much energy 🤩 In fact I moved to the hottest town in my country 4 years ago, just to get more sun. I learned to love winter because it brings summer 😃
Good for you that there's little humidity in the air where u live but for me I'm literally BOILING whenever I go outside during the summer lol
I love being hot too! Not that it happens very often where I live (UK) it really does rain all the time
Its crazy how different everyone is! Humidity and heat makes me sluggish and miserable. I do love the warmth of the sun Im not saying I like to be frigid. But a low 70s day with full sun, a breeze, and no humidity os perfect for me. Except on the beach, the heat can go a little higher because I love swimming! I like your perspective on winter! I live in New England so the winters can be long (although beautiful sometimes) but spring, early summer, late summer, and fall are glorious.
It’s the opposite here, summer brings the humidity. It is aweful
Oof, too much humidity sucks regardless of temperature. We have to do our grocery shopping in the coastal town though, so going there in summer is just yuck.
I don’t even live near the coast and humidity was 89% this morning
It’s went down a lot to 56%, but this morning was murder

It's not something that I can't live without but I haven't lived without it either. Sleeping with feet touching the wall. Cold wall. I rub my feet on the way too to feel the cold. Weird thing perhaps but it's so satisfying. Can't sleep otherwise.
