Canon color on RX100

You can use the camera for what it is and tweak it to your liking. That might not be in auto. Set it to Program mode and tweak till you like it.

I feel your pain, Sony jpegs feel lifeless to me. Unfortunately there's no easy fix for this; you have to use post processing to get the images to the look you want; once you get that right, you can create presets to apply your settings quickly and to all photos you take.

I'm currently experimenting with picture profiles in camera to limit the amount of post processing I need to do. So far I had decent results with these two: - Vivid: -1 contrast, -1 saturation - Standard: +1 contrast, +2 saturation

The second part of the challenge is getting the WB right. I noticed every little change (+1-/-1) gives too much of a tint to my pictures.

As for now looks good, I just didn't have time to test it properly. I'm going soon on holidays so hopefully will be able to say more.

Works with RX100 that has Picture Profiles, I don't know if all of them have it or just later models.

Later Sony models have better colors out of the box, more natural lookin (for my liking).

When shooting on a6000, mostly all of the images I took went trough Lightroom but there is walkaround, you can try Portrait (this one was helpful for me when shooting people, all was warmer and less "contrasty" so taking photos was easier and I had some reference point when editing raw files later on) or Landscape from creative styles, play with saturation, contrast and sharpness.

Try also lock the White Balance to daylight (5500K) then depending or day time your photos will be affected by light and camera won't try to compensate for white balance.

Why not shoot raw and then you don’t have to deal with Sony color management at all? I happen to like Sony color management but it isn’t for everyone. Then you can make whatever adjustments you want later.

I bought this pack a long while ago from EosHD that’s called pro color I think. It had a bunch of settings that you had to go into the picture profiles and adjust, and it got very close to Canon point and shoot colors. I used it on the RX100V I had at the time and I didn’t want to edit much in Lightroom. Now I use the VII and just shoot in raw, it gets me to the look that I want.

I think Canon colours are impossible to emulate.
