Do "people" come to take you away when you are on your deathbed?

A few months (if not weeks) before she passed away, my granny (mom's mom) kept staring at the upper corner of her bedroom and also next to the wardrobe and kept saying that she sees "people." She wouldn't specify their number but she spoke in a plural type of way.

Given that she was old and sick, we didn't take her seriously and thought it had something to do with her brain experiencing old age.

Here's what's strange though, the mother of my uncle's wife, I also call her my granny, also experienced the same thing. She would sometimes scream that she sees people wanting to take her away in her bedroom. We still didn't think there were people around because she would point at the wall and we couldn't see anyone.

She could clearly recognize us but kept insisting that there are more people there with us.

So my question is, are there actually people who come to "take you away" when you are on your deathbed or is it just old age plus sickness which results in hallucinations?

My mother died of cancer in 1973 when I was 18. Daddy told me to stay that night because he knew she wasn't going to last much longer. She had been in a type of unconscious state. She hadn't eaten or drank, made no eye contact, but her eyes were open and she had an oxygen tent over her that she kept pulling at. She had been like that for at least a couple weeks.
Daddy woke me up about 7 AM and told me that Mama was about to pass. We were standing beside her bed. Daddy was on the right side of me. As I said she had made no facial expressions or spoken to anyone for weeks. Right before she passed she turned and looked at Daddy and smiled like she saw heaven or saw or someone familiar. It's been so long ago I can't remember if she looked at me and then looked at Daddy. I'm hoping that was the case. She was one of the most godly women I've ever known in my life. She was 52 years old and I still haven't met anyone as good as she was. People that are atheists should work in a hospital and witness people on their deathbed. I think they would have a change of heart. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences.

Oddly enough, I am atheist. I do not believe a god runs the show, but I absolutely believe peoples spirits live on.

I apologize if my comment offended you. I had a supernatural experience that confirmed my beliefs. I was already a Christian when it happened. My son passed away unexpectedly with a seizure disorder at 19. It was and will be the most tragic and unbearable time of my life. When I was about to walk into the church for his funeral I looked around and saw all the people there and for a split second I was so overwhelmed. I suddenly felt The sensation of a blanket of warm oil draped over me from my head to my feet. I had a peace like I'd never had in my life. My only concern was making sure my daughter was okay and made it through the funeral. No one will ever convince me that wasn't the hand of God or his angels helping me get through that day. I really don't know how anyone can get through losing a child without having a close relationship with the Lord. Who do you turn to for support? When everyone's home and it's just you awake at 3 am, God is still there with you.

Not at all! We don't have to believe in the same things and peace comes from different forms. Im happy for you
