"we need doctors, nurses" the response is "it's not what you need, it's what I need" (continuation of the other video)
Time to go
hash-tag Time's Up!
hash-tag GTFO!
The shameless entitlement is so frustrating. This is what P.E.I. and Canada are getting. I am disturbed union and church organizations signed the letter for this group. The arrograncy.. the ring leader straight up admitted it’s not what Canada needs, it’s what he needs. They are here for Canadian benefits and do not care to contribute to society. He wasting healthcare resources going on hungry strike, “fainting” and throwing tantrums. Then calling out “where is humanity”?
totally exploiting PEI's genteel and hospitable and agreeable nature.
Also the ringleader (or one of them) was seen eating at hunters when they started their hunger strike, not only does this guy not want to contribute to anything, hes a lying rat😹
Really? The church? They are far from being christians, why would they ask the church to sign?
They are so desperate to stay.
Wait until you learn about Maxime's group of entitled convoy clowns that think there should never be any public health guidelines that the general public should follow for the greater good.
Just because Bernier is utterly wrong on a lot (if not most) issues, doesn’t mean he’s not correct here.
You know, you can make a non-sequitur comment about anyone. I laugh at Mad Max but his comments here are valid and your comment has zero relevance to the subject.
You could’ve tried to make a point without descending into idiotic hyperbole, but you didn’t.
A broken clock is right here and there. Same with this idiot..
It's time for our own protest.
I am fine with using my tax dollars for this.
Just fucking ridiculous. Time to go home. How did someone on a temporary visa buy property? What the fuck is wrong with Canada…not to mention he probably has a two- three bedroom house renting them out 500$ to students. Why else would he need to work anywhere besides a fucking Tim Hortons. Get him outta here.
2-3 bedroom house renting out a bed for $500/month to 10 different “students”
Yes that’s what I meant, sorry
It is confusing, how are they getting mortgages?
Liberals are in bed with India.
India and china literally helped PP win his leadership race
How? Liberals called out India on the assassination. That ain’t someone in bed.
If anything the liberals are in bed with Khalistan and Extremist Sikhs. Look at Sajjan, Bains, all his MPs are from one state. All the students are mainly from one state. A consulate office is in Chandigarh.
They allow effigy’s of assassinations of Indian PM in Brampton. They allowed the Air India bombing / extremist to be a part of the convoy to India.
Liberals are in bed with Sikhs. Not India.
Ya think? Lmfao
India is an enemy just like China.
Yeah you’re off the deep end a bit pal
Governments comprised pal.
So we live in a world where I watch Maxime and think "he's making a lot of sense to me". These are strange times indeed
People will resort to extremes if we don’t stop and address this problem immediately. Just look at the US.
Out of curiosity, what do the general PEI folk think of these protesters.
They clearly seem be getting the support of a few, which is encouraging them to demonstrate this sense of entitlement and arrogance.
it’s not what you need
Right! Despite the wait time for ER and medical care has been going up. So what do Canadians need? Just stop accessing medical services that they pay for with their taxes?
We need a counter protest so badly
arrogance!
We definitely don't need little Maxime grifting on PEI and canadahousing2 crossposting
I mean to be fair the PPC had anti mass immigration billboards up in 2019, he’s been against this for years
And I think we definitely don’t need uncontrolled immigration during the worst housing and healthcare crisis this province and country has ever faced and this video doesn’t want me to go and vote for PPC but it’s a sad state that the country is in that people had to rely on parties like PPC to voice out their concern’s. If you try to ignore the majority of the people and label them racists when will eventually elect a racist and will become extreme just look to the south and what’s happening in EU.
Sounds like a little snowflake doesn't like hearing any criticism of grifting Maxime
You actually were not criticizing him, what you did was call to the sub and the mods that people should post content you don’t like into the sub. I’m no PPC supporter but yeah you are actually just being a standard issue redditor here.
If you have actual criticism of what the man is saying in this specific clip I would love to hear it, or did you just decide your eyes cannot be subjected to the bad evil man you don’t like?
I hate that Maxime is the only one that gets this and having to vote for him brings in the problem child tinfoil hats but that’s the reality we face with the affordability crisis that’s been created.
sounds like a snowflake can't handle being told to fuck off? or more like a snowflake that can't handle the sub having an opinion you don't agree with and people actually liking it? oh God, get the mods, ban everyone who isn't a communist, QUICK!!11!11!1
Your post/comment has been removed for violating Rule #2: Be respectful.
I thought Bernier was an absolute nut last election. Now he looks like the only sane one
Who’s the guy on the left?
Maxime Bernier
So Maxime Bernier, who hasn’t been able to win a single election (even his own riding), comes to PEI to pretend to speak for Canada?
Not a fan of PPC or Maxime but I think he is reflecting the general mood of Islanders towards these protestors. Would be better if other Islanders/leaders went and told them to knock it off but we won’t because we don’t want to appear to be outspoken.
Maxime is the only politician to speak out against mass uncontrolled immigration and the harm its done to the country.
And literally a thing else he talks about is nonsense. Sorry being "right" about one thing, doesn't make him fit to lead. Luckily he hasn't got a hope in hell.
In Canada, citizens AND temporary residents have a legal right to protest. The government (through our representatives), make these decisions. Bernier couldn’t give a shit about PEI, he’s grandstanding to his base of racists and bigots.
Oh cute, we're calling people racist instead of discussing actual points. Immigration is a very hot political topic. He's a politician. Not a racial topic. No different than Trudeau going to that Asian food festival or whatever. Not like he really gives a shit about that.
I disagree but you’re entitled to your opinions
You're also entitled to be wrong, and on this matter you are.
These are not PRs, they're temporary foreign workers demanding PR status like entitled children screaming for candy. They have no right to protest. Their right to be here is limited in time and scope solely to what is ascribed in their Visa, which they "agreed" to in bad faith, all while planning to exploit any loophole possible to obtain PR. The fact they are protesting should be considered an indication they had no intent to respect the terms of their visas and be met with immediate deportation.
This is not just about cost of living, jobs and housing, it is now a serious national security risk. We need to acknowledge that and treat it as such.
A national security risk. 😂
They are playing a significant part in accelerating our Cost of Living, jobs and housing crises. We cannot address those until we deal with mass immigration.
secret-rcmp-report-warns-canadians-may-revolt-once-they-realize-how-broke-they-are
This is only one example how they are increasing security risks within Canada.
These are not PRs, they're temporary foreign workers demanding PR status like entitled children screaming for candy. They have no right to protest.
In Canada, the right to peaceful assembly is included in the Charter under fundamental rights (section 2), meaning it applies to all people regardless of citizenship status. Voting rights and movement rights can be limited by status, but not fundamental rights.
Good to know, thank you. I understood the right to protest did not extend beyond citizens and PRs. Can't say I agree that they should be allowed to protest, but I was wrong on that point and have removed that part of my statement.
You disagree that immigration is a policy issue?
No that's what Trudeau your hero does.
So make sure you vote for the PPC candidate so we can split the right wing vote.
Nah I'm good thanks. Stick to recruiting extremist left wing nutters. I hear they are having a hard time with support lately.
It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last
Would Japan be Japan with millions of Europeans? Or China? Why haven’t they let that happen? Sounds like they are racist by your logic.
Would Japan be Japan with millions of Europeans? Or China?
Japan won't exist for much longer on their current demographic trajectory.
Why haven’t they let that happen?
They have

Answer: 1. Yes 2. Their decision BTW, both Japan and China are facing serious labour shortages
lol Canada does not have a labour shortage. How many videos of 100s of people lined up for an interview at Tim Hortons will it take for you to realize. Probably time for you to go to Japan or china then they need the workers. We do not.
This is why I cannot take the Liberals seriously. Tackling climate change is an important issue but having a high population growth in wealthier/high-consumerist lifestyle countries like ours means higher emission rates. The transition from a high to lower population for a country is the biggest challenge but it does not mean that they are “doomed”. Economic growth is not solely dependant on population growth but a compounding list of factors such as innovation, technological advancement, and using resources efficiently. This is why Canada has a productivity problem. Companies here do not want to innovate and automate when there are things like the broken TFW program at their disposal.
Many voters this election will be single-issue voters
And they’re free to vote PPC. As someone who doesn’t wish to see a Conservative government, I hope he pulls a pile of votes away from them.
Regardless on your preference of a poorly ran federal government, we can all agree this immigration strategy is unsustainable.
the last 8 years of the liberal/ndp coalition has brought thr country to its knees.
According to what?
on this issue, I think Max do speak for Canada!
He doesn’t speak for anyone. Sorry
He's the only politician willing to do it. What does that say?
I’d say he’s an unelected individual grandstanding for his base of racists and bigots.
He's been saying this was going to happen for a while now, no one believed him and labelled him racist etc. He was right.
There’s a difference between someone talking about immigration issues because of some of the problems that naturally occur during immigration waves; there have been many in our countries history btw and the same kind of people complained then too.
He knew what the liberals were up to, he was almost the leader for the CPC.
He did almost win the CPC leadership and when he lost, he sulked off like a 5 year old and hasn’t been elected to any office since. Funny thing is, if he’d stayed with the CPC he would’ve actually been the leader. Thankfully he’s been great at pulling just enough extremists away from the Cons.
The PPC candidates were pretty terrible by the looks of it. But he's a smart guy and brave for saying the truth. I hope he at least gets his seat to call out BS when he sees it in parliament.
Isnt he the guy the media claimed would destroy canada ? Amazing how liberals and ndp supporters cant see it was their partys that have destroyed canada , scapegoating a guy who never had the chance to , lol what a world
So how about this . Every day with more and more immigrants piling in the Native population becomes more of a minority. Isnt that what colonialism did before? And i assure you the people arriving couldnt care less about the native population
You’re free to vote for the PPC candidate if one is running in your area. I’ve heard enough of their racist, science denying rhetoric to never vote for them myself.
but you'd vote for a teacher that thinks budgets will balance themselves?
I wouldn’t vote for a teacher who says, “budgets will balance themselves”. Fortunately no leader of any political party in Canada is on record as saying that.
LOOOOL
He speaks for me
Hitler spoke for lots of people too
Why do you people always invoke the hitler comparison when the subject of mass immigration is brought up?
Because “mass immigration” fake panic is a facist dog whistle
I'm sorry, but didn't our population jump a million people within 9 months? I'd say that qualifies as mass immigration considering that increase was in fact from immigration.
Reality: The current population of Canada in 2024 is 39,107,046, a 0.84% increase from 2023. The population of Canada in 2023 was 38,781,291, a 0.85% increase from 2022. The population of Canada in 2022 was 38,454,327, a 0.78% increase from 2021. The population of Canada in 2021 was 38,155,012, a 0.7% increase from 2020.
https://www.statcan.gc.ca/en/subjects-start/population_and_demography/40-million 39 million or 40 million?
Who is definitely not on the left :D
Thanks for that.
If I am not mistaken that's Maxime Bernier, leader of the People's Party of Canada and an absolute jackass who's only contribution to Canadian politics beyond bigotry has been siphoning votes away from the Conseratives for the past two elections.
In the past, yes. He’s also the only politician at the federal level raising the alarm on out of control immigration.
The conservative party is only conservative in its name
Yes I agree
Self entitled no goods leeching off the system that allows it. Shame on them and shame on Trudeau’s government for incentivizing this.
The local (cherished and loved) Indians have no use for this guy. As a nation we realize this silly goose doesn't represent them.
I wonder where the full video is
As I say every time this is posted there are two nuts talking. Neither is better than the other. Both can go jump in lake for all I care.
Round them up
If this country was a house party, they would be the drunk asshat's refusing to leave. We all know how to solve that problem, eh!
Book your ticket home pal, you’re done! I heard Brampton looks good 😂😂😂
What a raging cesspool of bot induced racism r/CanadaHousing2 is. OP you need to expand your sources of informed information.
Oh was the video faked?
The truth isn't racism, go fuck yourself sideways.
What does needing doctors and nurses have to do with racism? Does everyone in your orbit have a family doctor? is getting a coffee more important than gen z having affordable housing and not living 4 to a bedroom so a Tim’s franchise can pay shit?
Can you point out the racism in the video I don’t care or don’t support the Reddit group or ppc my only intention is to point out what sort of people are we allowing as a country and is it beneficial or causing problem to Canada.
Try forming your own opinions. What’s actually wrong with the PPC? They’re the only ones who seem to have a chance at improving the quality of life of our loved ones and children
I am tired. This sub and the constant and consistent racism makes me sad. Maxime Bernier is a vile human being.
Can we put on post moderation or something? This shit should be contained to the mega thread, where all the little racist snowflakes can bellyache in their echo chamber and leave the rest of us alone.
Maxime needs to go back to whatever hole he crawled out from. We do not need him here.
Maxime go home! No one wants you here!
As for the protester, he trying to do things easy way and failed and will pay the price. Shit happens.
And for everyone using this small group of protesters to dump all over immigrants - pleaee just go away with Maxime.
Does anyone know who the old dude is? Maybe he could negotiate with our Native communities. Sounds like a very cut and dry black and white type of fella. We don't need to crack down on immigrants, as much as we need to crack down on employer's who take advantage of cheap labour. No one understands that you get what you pay for. If you could pay anyone less than minimum wage...what do you expect? It would be nice to be able to.boycott the businesses taking advantage of these temporary foreign workers hoping for PR sponsorship. Deport Danny Murphy, Tim Banks and everyone else who takes advantage of not paying for their employees wages. We need to deport the abusers and not the abused. But no one really gives a care about people being exploited. Not the politician who made this mess, and not the cheap rich Feckers taking advantage of it. Everyone in provincial politics should be ashamed of what they did, and they should be ashamed of the friends they keep. You are the average of your five closest friends. Pretty low people, Dennis King and everyone else in his needs to crawl under a rock and disappear. Take Trudeau with ya, rotten rotten people all of them.
We don't need to deport people who lie to get here, and overstay?...
lol dude there’s like 250 000 TFW’s in all of Canada and most are in agriculture. Calm tf down
To answer your question, it’s Maxime Bernier from PPC. They often don’t get much coverage because people label them as “far right” , but they’re really not. To me, most of their policies/views are reasonable - maybe one or two I’m not fond of.
The PPC’s stance on some of our biggest issues are appalling. It’s the party of “fuck your data and science, feelings and beliefs trump facts”
There is however no scientific consensus on the theory that CO2 produced by human activity is causing dangerous global warming today or will in the future, and that the world is facing environmental catastrophes unless these emissions are drastically reduced.
This is on the PPCs website. It’s blatant disinformation. No idea how anyone in their right mind would find this reasonable.
Like I said, most policies. That’s the main one I don’t vibe with.
The PPC has an entire section on revitalizing the oil and gas industry as well. So not only are they unapologetic science deniers, they work to serve the biggest and richest corporations. They’re only pretending to have our best interests at heart.
I’m very curious, what policies of theirs do you agree with?
So by using the gas and oil that would make our country prosperous again that’s bad? What about importing people by the boatload every year to a country where we have one of the highest per capita co2 omission rates? What’s green about that?
Fossil fuel industries are the cause of anthropogenic climate change. That’s what’s bad. Alternatives are available and becoming increasingly more efficient and reliable, bringing with them immense opportunities.
Even if you put aside the effects fossil fuels have on our environment and look purely from an economic standpoint, think how much more prosperous our economy will become by getting in early on the untapped renewable energy market.
What about importing people by the boatload every year to a country where we have one of the highest per capita co2 omission rates? What’s green about that?
I’m not really sure what your point is here but I feel it isn’t really relevant to what we’re discussing about the oil and gas industry.
quick search tells me they also want to end corporate welfare, that's something I support.
Out of context that sounds nice. But it’s funny you mention that, because they cite “failing renewable energy businesses” for the “so called climate change” as the corporate welfare to end.
the Trudeau government having announced in 2023 $32 billion in subsidies to only two companies producing batteries for electric vehicles, and planning to spend hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies in the coming years to fight so-called climate change.
https://www.peoplespartyofcanada.ca/economy
So…they explicit state that they want to help oil and gas, and to end subsidies for renewable energy. This comes at a time of a globally remarkable growth in the renewable sector. Their antiquated economic stance relies on ignoring data and cozying up to oil and gas.
Irving must be salivating at the mouth by these policies.
Irving employes Canadians, liberals gave millions for a battery plant that is built using foreign workers!
My point is the PPC’s platform is a love letter to oil and gas and doesn’t care at all about having well-informed policies that benefit Canadian citizens.
pretty easy to notice the liberal/ndp coalitions policies haven't benefited canadian citizens either!
Funny how the liberal party used its media to claim the other group/s would destroy Canada , while they have successfully destroyed canada
there's not much left to destroy, or tax
They're absolutely far right and their policies aren't really reasonable at all, just because they claim they're reasonable doesn't make it true
in canada we have parties on the far left, and parties on the far right with nothing in between, we've lost the ability to compromise!
People can't play nice.
