I'm new to the game and on my first colony, at cycle 3400( slow but steady), and just starting to discover the star map and no other planet colonized besides the one connected with a teleporter. I'm creating my colonization rocket and seeking ideas I see about the Tardis rocket
I like the idea but also want to know the opinions of others. do you like it? Do you see too overpowered?

I've been playing since last summer and I have yet to melt a rocket... Not because I don't want a giant mobile base, but because it just seems so much work. Besides, I can fit three dupes for colonizing in a vanilla rocket with +8 room morale
Three happy dupes is nice, but how about three happy dupes and a mobile nuclear reactor?
Tardis is a fun project. If you can make it, you already can colonize any planet without it.
But from game-learning perspective, just try to colonize couple of planets and see how it go. You can make tardis at any moment, don't spoil minor challenges for yourself. Make tardis after normal colonization became boring
I'm all for it! At least for one rocket. It's not that hard to do and the benefits are awesome. My rocket has 3 petroleum generators, AQ/ST cooling system, electrolyzer, full bathrooms with shower, great hall, rec room with arcade and beach chair, a hospital, massage clinic, luxury bedrooms for 8, nature reserve with 8 jet suit docks and a full 96 tile pip ranch. Not to mention the grill, payload opener, exosuit forge, and artifact analysis.

Idk I like it I made my tarsus rocket a self sustaining thing except for fuel which if the rockets had a way to move rad bolts outside and back into the engine it would be fully self sustained
Personally, I would do it "legit" one or two times, and then consider melting a rocket once you've got your fill of that and want to try something weird and interesting.
But it's a single player game, follow your heart.
The tardis will be the 3rd rocket i build, 1 made a carbon dioxide engine for databank and a drilling one with normal module, but i think for colonization i will need something better.

Yes, 1st try was a 30min save to test the game till i realize that the DLC was deactivate( i realize at the moment of the 2nd research), i create then 2nd try with the objective to be my first colony

It takes a lot of work, understanding of game mechanics, and planning to pull off. Given what has to go into it, I really have no problem with it,. It feels in line with a lot of the intended mechanics in the game where those same things lead to something incredibly overpowered.

I prefer not to crack the game, at least until I do it on my own
Plus if you're breaking the game why do it the hard way? There must be a mod that let's you delete the walls?
They're a huge pain in the ass to set up. If you can pull it off, you've earned it, if you ask me.

Where's your power generation? I see you are at 0 coal, what did you transition to? What about food. I see a meal wood farm, but you still have excessive amounts of dirt so it can't have been all that, plus the 0 coal so no hatches.

pacus for omelet but im not even eating that anymore, I'm fully frost burger now
power generation i have 5 petroleum generators, 6 nat gas (tecnically 5.5 if they are on all the time) a hot steam vent with 3 steams generators and 11 solar panel but they don't do a lot xD
coal are crafted to refined carbon after being dropped from the hatch, I have mealwood just for the seeds for the pacus, and the meal lice it's given to the sage hatch
ONI is the kinda game where if you can do it its legal. Nothing is an exploit only a feature.
I know I'll get downvoted but rockets as they are in spaced out kinda ruin the game for me. Even without melting the walls you create more space than they consume and they can be built anywhere that I feel using them is too 'exploity' even though it's as intended. I don't normally mind using exploits in the game even the none intentionally ones but when I reach rockets I start to overthink the possibilities and it ruins spaced out for me. So I play the standard game but wish I could play spaced out without the new style rockets, therefore I'm really looking forward to new DLCs.
Use them to fly around in, then, not as farm- or SPOM- or living space-modules? Just cause it's possible to do otherwise, doesn't mean you have to do or even think about it. Set yourself a few rules:

There's no accounting for taste man! Everybody have different ways to play, and as was mention in other comment if you want to make it more difficult then create rules for you, thats how the nuzlocke was born on the pokemon games
