Hi there, flying in to Seattle with my dad in september for a week trip to ONP.
Planning on renting a car for a week. Do we need something like a jeep? Or will anything do?

Except deer park unless you stop frequently to let your brakes cool. Not sure about for hurricane ridge. Having the ability to downshift is extremely useful. I took someone's prius down from deer park and it had a fake downshifting thing that didn't work. The ability to go down into 1st or 2nd gear to save your brakes is important if you go very deep into the park (upper dungeness, deer park, possible hurricane ridge).
You can drive to every trailhead in the Olympics in a standard passenger car. You don’t need AWD. A little extra ground clearance is nice, but not necessary.
I live here. Love my AWD Outback, but I'm mostly highway grrl. Unless you're going off-road or muddy adventuring, pretty much anything will do.
For me, good speakers are imperative ❤️🎶.

We rented a Camry (which is fancy for us lol). Don't plan to do anything off the main roads, and car rentals are expensive so opted for a cheaper option.
But that BMW X3 that u/workswithpipe is renting sure does sound niiiiice haha
Agree w the other comments. Unless you’re going to do some odd off roading, basically any car will work. Well, I don’t know how common EV chargers are, so I would do gas/hybrid

We reserved a bmw x3. Only $250 more than a nissan rogue for the week and since we’re going to be driving a lot we decided to go with something fun to drive.
I LOVE driving and it's part of the experience for me ... totally concur of it's in your budget to find something fun (with good speakers).
You can do it in a Prius.
