Hey everyone, so do you all think wearing the same thing in every video is a good idea or should I switch it up? I know some YouTubers only wear a black tshirt as their thing or a polo. Do you keep it consistent or do you switch it up?
Agreed. Start with what you're used to - you'll always have time to build a channel image. Far more important than your clothes is how comfortable you feel in front of the camera.
The only thing is, make sure your clothes don't blend into the background.
I wear the same shirt in every video just in case I take multiple seasons to finish a video so people can’t tell they’re different recordings lol
Playing 4D chess lol
I only wear my Rebecca Black's hit song "It's Friday" Tshirt that displays in bold lettering that "It's Friday" w/ a picture of the Rebecca Black taken from the music video of "It's Friday" by critically acclaimed recording artist Rebecca Black.
Who sings that song again? I feel like I saw the name somewhere recently but I just can't remember.
What's the song mentioned on your shirt called again?
It's a banger called "It's Friday" sung by Rebecca Black, an American recording artist thats famous for their breakout hit "It's Friday" by Rebecca Black.
My sluttiest outfits
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I got a sweatshirt with my logo and channel name on it for $40 and wear that most videos.
A smile
full on costume (suit, mask, etc.)
With a gag too?
lol
YouTube is successful when you’re being your authentic you. Where what you would wear.
I try to wear a nerdy tshirt if I remember (since I make videos about fandom and stuff like that) but I don’t always remember 😂😂
I'm a faceless creator, so I wear whatever I feel like.
Literally whatever I'm wearing at the time of recording. In my most recent video I'm wearing a Wawa Hoagiefest shirt from when I worked at wawa
Whatever I have on that day. Might be camo, might be shorts. Might be my bald head, idgaf. I don't even dress differently for my career let alone this.
I do a bit of all of the comments so far. I have channel colours (Black and Green) and happen to mostly just wear plain black shirts...so that's my go to 😂. I am thinking to pop my logo on them too.
Make sure you have a lint roller and use it... And brush your teeth beforehand to get any "coffee tint" off...
I mean, you don't have to wear a suit but you are in public in a way and while it doesn't need to be fancy, putting on "street clothes" can significantly impact how you feel about yourself. Think back to the pandemic and how people dressed up at home just to feel nice. So that's how I'd judge if your outfit is okay or not. If you feel great wearing the same clothes in your videos because it's your "YouTube uniform," then that's what you should be wearing.
Hope this helps. ☺️
I do hot sauce stuff so I wear a red polo, might swap it out each season for another thematic color.
Me: blouse, dress shirt, or dress
Husband: button-up or polo
And we wear T-shirts on Sundays for our livestreams because they're more relaxed
I honestly don’t even know… I try my best to seem presentable. These are all clothes I would wear regularly though
I wear the same shirt all the time, makes it easier for continuity if I have to reshoot something.
I'm usually in my underwear, highly recommended.
Those youtubers most likely wear the same t shirt because it becomes tedious to find a different outfit when you're trying to pump out a lot of content in a short amount of time. Or they record multiple videos in a day or so.
I ware nothing bc I am a png Tuber XD
Black nitrile gloves. Every video, except Halloween I did orange.
You want views? WEAR NOTHING! That's how ya get the views.
I’ve started shying away from showing my face on camera, so whatever I want.
I got tons of love for my Amiga shirt. So put on some stuff your audience can relate to. Doesn't matter if you switch it up with similar stuff once in a while. Or you could try to build a "brand" by always wearing the same outfit. Needs to fit the overall channel vibe though.
At least a loincloth and some furs.
Usually casual athletic wear, though. One time I did dress up in a three piece suit, but just my underwear instead of the pants for a bit.
Whatever I had on when I got home from the pub.
I swear one of these days it will be someone else's (far too small) shirt and a poorly made beer carton top hat.
As a fashion YouTuber I'm trying to keep my top half of the outfit matching the theme of the video, so I try to switch tops/dresses, button-ups, etc., hairstyle and makeup every video. But the bottom half is pretty much always my leggings and cozy wool socks as it's just not in the frame 😅
Regular
I wear whatever I'm wearing at the time. Which sucks because I film my footage over a few days so i have to keep my dirty shirt near my desk until I'm done so it doesnt keep changing between shots. 😂
Well, it depends on the weather but just whatever I'm wearing that day.
Plus one of:
-a furry panda hat
-a skateboarding helmet
-a captain's hat
-a camo woolly hat
-a floral bucket hat
I like hats and thought it'd be an opportunity to wear different hats to normal. #HatsNotHate (Yes, yes, I know hashtags don't work on here but I'm doing it for effect.)
This is for my dad jokes channel, not my mindset and motivation channel, before you ask. 😅
wear whatever you feel comfortable with, some youtubers wear the same things for different reasons like having to shoot the same video with a span of a few days, opposing their backgrounds, or their own mentality like wearing a uniform for a job
Anybody not wear pants?
You people put on clothes?
I just wear whatever I was wearing that day. Not a full time creator so not at the stage where I specifically gear up for the videos.
But I do think there's some credence to the consistency thing. So if you wanna always have a certain theme you could rock similar clothes each time. I follow a lot of creators who do that where they rock the same outfit style but different clothes each time whilst sticking to an unspoken "theme"
I put my brand t-shirt
I only show my hands so...
I was gonna say nothing but I realised quickly that's not what I mean
Anything comfortable since I'm animating
I'm only starting now to show myself on camera but I'm going for different outfits with a general aesthetic.
I just wear my gas mask
I think Clothing is no matter main thing is your content. If your content is good then you will defintly grow after the success you can buy expensive stuffs
I think if you make Kids videos, or you dress to fit your niches thats a good idea. But for general vlogging you might be overthinking it
My friend made some shirts with my logo on them, I usually wear them because why not
Look at my channel linked in my profile. Don’t watch the vids because I don’t want you messing with my algorithm but you can see I wear only 3 different shirts. Mostly one red one though. I think it helps with branding. People recognize me instantly and it seems to be working
Interesting, and I didn’t mess with the algo for You, but I see the red shirt and it pops
a loin cloth
I just dress like I normally would, that's about it.
