I thought it was a "look at this great retention!" photo at first. 💔
Honestly it's more work to do this than to go down to the cuticle
Exactly what I was thinking as I looked down at my two week old acrylics. Sorry, OP. You should go back and complain.
… and don’t forget to get your refund. Yes she did do some work but it was not the work you requested.
You could go even further! I last had mine done on 8th June & the regrowth is comparable to this 😞
had mine filled june 15th, they look exactly like the photo today 😭
Exactly! If this is the fill then what did they look like before 😭
I did my nails 14 days ago today this is pretty much exactly what they look like. I'm already itching to change them on my next day off.
I thought the same. I'm almost at my three week fill time and my nails look like OPs
100%. Mine look exactly like this right now and tomorrow they’ll be 2 weeks old.
Same.
that is the most unfilled fill i’ve ever seen….
I don’t know why this made me laugh so hard 😂
They hit her with the FI and left the rest
Underrated comment😂
wow yeah they didn't come close to your cuticle. These look like they're already ready for a fill.
Like I appreciate them trying to keep a lil distance from the cuticle but this is a bit much…😬
How come you did not say anything after seeing the amount of product they put on the first hand?? This is completely unacceptable.
I couldn’t really tell for sure until they were painted tbh
Yeah I guess it’s not as noticeable if they used a nude extension product. Do you feel comfortable going back and telling them to make it right?
I went back twice to fix chrome that chipped less than 2 days and then again 3 days later and they fixed it both for free. It chipped again and I decided not to get chrome again. Not sure if it was because of the tech.
why are you victim blaming? this isn't like deciding on a nail length where the customer's feed back is needed. this comes down to the tech either being lazy or just straight up not knowing how to do their job neither of which is the responsibility of the person paying
They’re not blaming op. It is absolutely the responsibility of the customer to let the tech know if they don’t like something. Maybe the tech they used this time is new and needs more practice. Or maybe they are just not good. We really don’t know. Constructive feedback is a valuable tool in all areas of life.
I’ve had many experiences where I tell the nail tech that it needs more product (to build up the nail to make it straight) and they say no don’t worry after I file it it’ll be fine, multiple back and forths and I give in. Turns out, I’m always right!
That’s where I find a new tech who is willing to listen to me and my concerns. That’s so frustrating!!
Totally!! So frustrating, I always find a nail tech that will listen to me! I do my own now so I know she listens 🤪
Lmao 🤣 if she don’t listen.. give her a glass of wine and a bubble bath, that should help her out 😉🤣
Hahaha then she’ll know what I REALLY want 😂
Right! Bottom line is that I’m paying for a service! If it’s not done right, then the tech (or the manager) needs to make it right!
One time I had an eyebrow tech rip off a large section of my eyebrow cos she found out I didn't want to use her. I was polite about it and basically it was like, oh I prefer this person instead, she plucks too much and it hurts, and I sat down and the lady I didn't want came over and started doing my brows and she looked pissed... I think she was the manager lol. We didn't go back obviously but I had a messed up eyebrow and a rash for a few weeks. Sometimes people can be vindictive and then play clueless.
At that point, I think I’d threaten to sue them for assault. See how much they like being petty bitches.
jesus!! i hope you gave that place a 1 star review and described what happened. people need to be warned to not go there😬
Another way to view it is that you pay a professional for a service and expect professional service. Now you, the non-professional, gotta question the professional you just paid for a professional job...? Maybe they should teach the techs on their dime vs. the customers. I get the concept of trying to learn as you earn, but to an extent.
Victim blaming? No crime was committed here. The OP was not harmed by the poor fill-in job. When a person is paying for a service, they are the one who needs to speak up if the service is poorly executed.
For sure not blaming OP! But as a client you should at least point out a shitty job at some point before leaving. If you are confused, I referred to the fill as unacceptable.
you gotta chillllll with the “victim blaming” claim 😭 she went to a nail salon and got a bad fill, babes, she’s in no way a victim of anything 😵💫
it is also absolutely up to the customer to speak up when unhappy with a service - that’s reality, not victim blaming.
Victim blaming?
Mistakes and poor quality work happens all the time in service situations. Speak up or deal with the consequences.
OP is absolutely not a victim here and it's ridiculous to say that.
Imagine saying “I want a fill but just half the length that it has grown out”.
Nope nope nope! Did they actually do anything? And no offense…but why are we so afraid to speak up to our nail techs? I’m personally not (now) but we see this all the time! Ladies…we are paying for their service. If you’re not happy…speak up. If you don’t and you leave…well, you’re shit out of luck.
Yeah I see so many posts here of "would you pay for these??" or "should I only pay half for these?? They didn't do anything I asked for" and so many commenters say "I personally would never not pay if I didn't like the outcome." What?! Why tf not?? You paid for a service and they didn't provide it. Y'all really need to learn to speak up. Nails are not cheap and I wouldn't walk out of the salon having paid for something I didn't receive.
Exactly!!! I’m the picky princess and I always spoke up to my tech. Had him for a decade and he was just so good to me. Moved states and now so my own and occasionally will for others but I ask questions if they aren’t speaking up cause I want to know any little part that they might be unhappy with so I have a chance to FIX IT
It took a while for me to work up the courage, but I always speak up now. I watch them like a hawk and if something looks off, I say something. I'm not paying $60+ for anything much less than perfect, and I'm not sorry about it!
$60??? Where do you live? I might need to move! I pay nearly $100 every 3-4 weeks!! 😳😂
We are worried because sometimes when you speak up the person retaliates and then before you know it your nails are destroyed and hurting and you have to find a new salon to go to or maybe even decide you don’t want to get your nails done anymore at all because of the experience.
Edit (addition): it’s like speaking up to your landlord about an issue, there is always the possibility of making the situation worse.
Confrontation is really hard for some people, me included. I count on the people providing the service to be honest and do the right thing. Been screwed many times by nail techs unfortunately. I just move on and find another place…
Is the fill in the room with us?
Rightt 😂😂
It doesn’t even look like they pushed your cuticles wtf 🤨
That's why there's such a large gap, there's no room because of the cuticles.
I’d be choked if that is actually the after picture.
They didn't push your cuticles back therefore there is no room for more product. Shoddy job all around.
You paid for this service ?
I’d be pissed
What did she fill, your imagination?
Go get your money back.
Definitely not crazy! They still look grown out.
they're cute, but they definitely don't look filled
Jeez that looks like 2-3 weeks of growth already! I would go back and have them fix it
I would go back in ASAP & ask for the manager. Request another fill free of charge.
That doesn't look filled at all .
No I’m suing.
I think they missed your hands…
Yes I don’t think I will see this tech again he was so fast and rough he did my cuticles with the drill and they are sore 😭
Get a refund and go to a different place. Or go through their reviews and request a specific, well-reviewed nail tech at that salon. Don't let the same guy do it. I can't stand people who are reckless with the drill.
Filled with what? Air?
Oof
empty ass fill 😭
Absolutely no offense as the set is cute but girl what fill? I can understand a little room around the cuticle so they don't lift but this is excessive.
You were robbed.
I would go back and ask them to fill them??
Mine look like that right now and I had them done a week and a half ago
These don’t even come close to the cuticle! It looks like they’re at two weeks of regrowth. Please go back to the salon & have them correct it! ☹️
I’d be mad
No you’re not crazy. This is how my nails look after 2-3 weeks of growth. WTH
Looks like no fill ??? Call them send them a photo
YESTERDAY!?
they played in your face.
I know it's hard for some people to speak up, but you have to advocate for yourself so businesses don't cheat you out of your money.
That looks 2 - 3 weeks old. Ripoff.
It be the dreaded cuticle by the looks of it
This has happened to me. It was a half-assed manicure where they didn’t take everything off and worked with what was already there. I never went back, but you may want to ask for a re-do or a refund.
My nails look better than this when I go in for my 2 week appt to get them redone if I’m being honest. You might need to get your cuticles cleaned up more.
"Can I get a fill on the side please?" ass nails omg GO GET YO REFUND
That’s terrible they need to do them again
Judging by the thumb they looked filled, they just didn't paint all the way up to the cuticle.
Honestly, that's kind of worrying. I mean imagine where that apex will be in a week or two. Definitely go back. You could really injure yourself after a little growth. Sorry this happened!
It seems that this manicure is at least 2 weeks old (
This is a 1-2 week regrowth for me
girl you got scammed, you should have never walked out with that
I would go back, make them do it right. They make a killing now on doing them.
😩😭😭
No, those definitely look grown out! I’d ask for a redo for sure.
Looks like the 2 week regrowth I'm sporting right now because I'm too lazy to do them😅
I am SCREAMING on behalf of your nails. Call them. Get your money back. They will offer to fix it but do not go that route!!! Soak them off with acetone polish remover and then go get them done somewhere else! Your nails look ready for a soak and new set thickness wise.
Source- me, I was/am a nail tech.
For the people saying shitty things to OP- kindly remove yourself and negativity from Reddit.
Yea I’d be pissed
That's bad
Tbf, I get not wanting to “complain” because in my experience, I was scared that because I had become a regular that they wouldn’t want to work with me anymore if I complained. But you spent money on a “fill” that you rightfully deserve back because like others, this screams Lazy and barely touched up. I would either tell them they fucked up or find a new salon. I switched salons after 3 times in a row, the one I frequented, messed up my nails and charged me for it.
You got no fill
Terrible job. Get a new tech.
I’m angry for you. Why do they do this? It’s beyond frustrating with the rise of costs for nail services it should not look like that when you’ve just had them done!
Wow. Thats really bad.
This is exactly why I do my own. I'm too much of a perfectionist to let that slide. That and I don't want to spend the money on it. I can honestly say, I real enjoy doing my nails myself.
who has been gaslighting you in your life? you are not crazy at all!
You're definitely not crazy. I did my nails a week ago and they aren't this grown out.
Wtf? I would ask for a fix or a refund so you can get it fixed elsewhere.
As a nail tech… that is unacceptable
As a nail tech… that is unacceptable
They did you dirty. I think you should get a refund and let them redo it.
Those are painted waaay too far from the cuticle. Your tech needs glasses or better light.
This makes me smile
They didn't fill it in all the way. I hate when they do that. Why can't they get close to the side walls and the cuticle lines!
Why do you only have polish on one nail love? But yeah, it looks like they weren’t completely filled and I’d get a refund or at least complain so the next time you go in you can get a discount.
You are definitely not crazy. It looks like they didn't even push your cuticles.
Where’s the after picture?
girl go get your damn money back... this is some bullshit and it made me mad and im not even the one wearing these lol.
My question is... How come you didn't notice this YESTERDAY, girl? Dang
I'm not a complainer and I've never gone back to a salon when I've been dissatisfied, but no lie I might actually go back this time. That looks like two weeks of growth. How odd!
Oh wow. That’s insane. Please try to get a refund or at least have them do a real fill. Smh wow
Those look like they were done two weeks ago I would go back right away and have it redone correctly.
If you look at the thumb, it looks like it's filled all the way down to the cuticle. Maybe the polish job isn't down to the cuticle? Or they filled it with clear instead of the color that was originally used?
The only "fill" they did was with your money in their pocket 😭
Not at all get your money back honey
Maybe go back today and politely tell her that you had "an off day yesterday and didn't notice until this morning" that the proper amount of product wasn't used to fill your nails completely. Tell her that since you don't have a re-scheduled appointment today, that you'll wait a little while for her to fix your nails. If she tells you she'll have to re-charge you for the gel polish, ask if she will waive that charge since you had to come back because the original job was incomplete. If she disagrees with any of this, ask to speak with the nail manager. If they don't fix your nails for you, let them know you're going to warn everyone on social media and in person not to patronize their business. And never go back.
This is terrible! Leave a 1 star review and never go back, that’s just dishonest!
i think they didn’t do any cuticle prep or dissolving so maybe they were trying to work around it??? they should’ve done at least cuticle remover dude comeon
don’t go back to them this was a shitty job i’m sorry
Mine are at 2 weeks and they’re not even that grown out…
Bro she’s lyin to us😐
Yikes. Definitely go back and complain. That's not filled in.
NGL my two week old set looks less ready for a fill than these do :/
Unless your nails grow freakishly fast that is not a proper fill
What’s the color of your polish 🙈 please
I hate confrontation, so I wouldn't go back and ask for a refund or for them to fix it. I would, however, never use their services again.
I will never understand how the employee does not realize that this is unacceptable work and if the salon lets them do this kind of work, then the salon is no better than the employee.
This being said, I still hope that the person who received this shoddy work does have the nerve and goes back to the salon and lets them know that this was terrible work and that they want a refund. Any reputable salon will give her a refund. Then go somewhere else and have it properly done.
You were not watching them? Or notice while there?
Your nails are very pretty (shape, style, health!) but the person who claimed they did a fill in should be ashamed.
They look grown out to me.
Oh you’re not crazy! Your nail technician is!! I would go straight back to the shop and demand a refund, or at least have someone else in the shop redo it! That is completely unacceptable!!
Definitely not filled properly
Looks like she has a solid 1/8 inch of cuticle that could have been pushed down and cleaned up than filled further down.🤷🏼♂️
That looks 2 - 3 weeks old. Ripoff.
Umm yea no you’re not crazy. But also, you guys don’t say anything during the appointment if something is amiss? I don’t mean in a snappy or rude way. I am always very tactful but if I see something doesn’t look right I say something right then and there so they can fix it. The amount of times I have seen people walk out and paid for crap service is baffling.
That looks 2 - 3 weeks old. Ripoff.
That looks 2 - 3 weeks old. Ripoff.
I know nothing about nails. Nothing. I think you got Got.
When I get a fill personally they fill it right up to my cuticles… I’d either go to a different salon or go back and ask them about how they fill their customers nails. Maybe it was only just the worker who did it 🤷♂️
That looks like at least a week of growth
They didn’t even finish painting either!
That’s their little marketing scheme. They don’t go all way down to the cuticle on propose so you can keep getting refills. This is my conspiracy theory though
I’m going in for a 3 week fill in a couple days and you’ve got more of a regrowth gap than I do 😅
Sorry, but you did not get your nails done. They did nothing 🥺
They didn’t go back
What did they do to your poor nails? I really feel sorry seeing this
They were nice enough to make it so you have to come back a week early so they can make more money!! Same reason they use a cheese grater on our feet, ensures a quick return to the salon!
They played you. Salon’s have been slacking heavily.
Didn’t you notice this when you were getting them done though?
These are most definitely not filled correctly and don’t look very balanced. I would go back. These look like mine right now at 3 weeks growth..
You gotta go back. I'm sure one look and the front desk person will sort it out!
Don't get me wrong but it's looking incomplete and kind of empty..fill the other nails with atleast a little bit of touch of blue
When i saw this picture, I literally said out loud "girl you didn't get a fill." You definitely are not crazy. I'd either go back and have them actually do the fill or never go back again because that's terrible.
Get your money back
GURL That's not a fill, that's a SCAM!
Oh no that’s definitely a bad nail job. Is there a way you can go back to the salon?
this looks hella grown out
Looks you need a fill
You are not crazy
I had my nails done 3 weeks ago and they look like this. No bueno.
Ask for a refund and leave a bad review. This is unacceptable.

This looks like two weeks regrowth to me 😭
