The filth in this episode is one of the worst. The living conditions are so abhorrent. Her mother keeps getting infections as well because they are living in squalor. It’s so sad but also fascinating to me (I hate to admit).

My opinion is the only way to clean that mobile home up is to take the few things out that are necessary, demolish the current home, and get another one, complete with furniture. They have destroyed that home. Also, Jeanne's mother went back to Houston after surgery, and her incision was infected, there was filth and dog hair in the incision. Both episodes are only for people with strong stomachs. Then, Jeanne's major reaction after her father died was the loss of his income.

The most mind boggling part to me is that from other sources, Jeanne went to church, heard a sermon that convinced her the father needed to come back after years gone, and called him, and didn't even ask her mother about him moving in. He abandoned his other family, and moved back to the trailer in the boonies. I think the little travel trailer outside was where he lived, when he wasn't living in the home taking care of the dogs. He was never the husband, because he was apparently married to someone else.

Oh wow! Didn't know he was already married. Honest I think he died to escape his fate. He spent his days living in squalor to feed his severely obese daughter who needed people bringing her food constantly. Did you see how the parents sat there with empty plates watching her eat? That was awful. She never asked if they wanted anything. Smh

I didn’t believe a word out of the woman’s mouth. Her Nana abused her by making her smoke cigarettes???? I know a lot of the people on the show had awful childhoods and she made a mockery out of all of them. If you get a chance to watch the show again watch out for her having someone to blame for every single thing that happened to her since childhood. Very manipulating woman.

Oh, 1000% agree. Definitely sketchy, even the claim of being beat with wire hangers. Those would leave a lot of evidence behind! I try not to doubt the claims the patients make, but sometimes it’s clear who is lying and who is really suffering from past abuse.

My spouse and I are guiltily fascinated by this show as well as Hoarders. TBH (for me) I think seeing the people on these shows makes me feel better about my own shortcomings and if anything I’m doing resembles their behavior I fix it (example: clutter gathering in an area of our house).

Watch Awake Surgery, on Discovery plus but I believe also show on TLC. It’s mostly cosmetic stuff but the patient is awake. One guy getting his man boobs removed even ordered lunch when the staff was getting lunch!

God that pissed me off so much. After he died she was like “oh well he was a bad guy and spent all the money for food online and he’s the reason I’m fat” not a direct quote but close enough. Hell with Jeanne.

I didn’t believe her story of abuse either. Said she would be bruised from head to toe and nobody knew and she snuck food and got fat to get back at her abusive granny. That granny was probably nice af and Jeanne just wanted to play the blame game.

I missed it but I sort of assumed on my own - he was dead for at least a couple of days. Also the state of the house when they got back - it looked like the dogs had been tearing cushions apart, all the stuffing was on the floor. Found it really odd that neither of them made any effort to tidy that up.

I thought it was incredibly sad that they clearly had no friends between them as no one missed him, it only got flagged up because they were away in Houston and he didn’t answer the phone.

Yeah- Dr Now asked Mom to show him her (hernia?) recent surgery scar which had been hurting for months and now looked like a membrane covering her intestines with a bigass puss pocket on the bottom half of it - when he opened her up in the OR he saw she HAD NEVER CLEANED the stitches: he had to pick out dog hairs, dirt and remove a lot of crusty dead flesh 🤢

I watched the episode yesterday and it’s so vile. It looks like her glasses are stained from tobacco use in the ‘house’. Her attitude is disgusting towards Dr. N. She seems mentally slow because she cannot understand her not losing weight is why she can’t the surgery. I needed a shower after watching that episode.

Haven’t watched in a while, but did she drive to Houston with her mother? I seem to remember her and her mother at a gas station and Jeanne yelling at her mother to get her a drink…a BIG one. If it’s the same person, she’s the one that was whining about everyone staring at her because she’s fat…while sitting at the gas pump SMOKING A CIGARETTE.
