The new tank is up but I did not have enough mud. It’ll do for now though til I can get more. Next I’ll drill a hole at the side bottom corner and install a spout like those ice tea dispensers, for letting water out slowly for the tides.
I got one of those tiny peristatic pumps on Amazon for twenty eight bucks, I already had tubing. I just reverse the tubing from the bucket in with brackish water, to pulling water out of the tank once high tide is complete. The tides take four hours at the lowest setting I could get another and put them on timers, but I kind of like the hands on approach. (I hate to drill holes in the tank!
I copied it from the person who posted the tidal tank, somehow they had it on automatic which I can't quite figure out. I also have reptile misters, which I have set up with distilled water, they go off twice a day for a minute. Just to keep the humidity up in the tank and to simulate misty rain.
