I have the version of Tales of Monkey Island included with the Monkey Island 30th Anniversary Anthology, which I believe is the same version currently available on Steam and GOG. I play it on my laptop, and while it runs the game fine on the laptop screen with the laptop speakers alone, plugging the laptop into an external display causes the game to have no sound under most circumstances.

All I want to do is just plug my laptop into a TV and play the game on the TV, but doing that makes the game have no sound at all. I've tried every combination of going in and out of full screen, deleting the game's properties file, and disabling all other audio devices in Device Manager, and the only thing that works is when I specifically: plug in a pair of USB speakers, disable all audio output devices except those in Device Manager, delete the game's properties file, then run the game; in that order.

Is there any way I could just make it so the game just plays through the TV speakers when plugged into the TV without any of that hassle at all? Has anyone else dealt with these issues and found a resolution?

I've talked to the tourist I, I've talked to Jumbeaux LaFeet, I know which parrot is which, but it's not giving all of the dialogue options. Is this a bug or have I missed something?

I recently started listening to the album "Bound to Ride" by bluegrass banjo player Jim Mills, and I immediately recognized some "licks" from various tracks on the album that remind so much of the banjo duel in CoMI. I have read that many such licks are common in this type of banjo playing, so maybe it is just a coincidence, but I became curious about who the banjo artist recorded for CoMI actually was. I can't find this information in the game's credits or on any Wiki. Does anybody know? Any suggestions for further sources are also greatly appreciated.

Monkey Island is my favourite game franchise. I started with Curse of Monkey Island as a child and I was hooked.

Well, I have now started streaming on twitch with my wife and I streamed The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition and we enjoyed it that we are now doing "Monkey Mondays" So we plan to go through all of the Monkey Island Series on Twitch.

It's really fun as this is a franchise my wife only ever heard about through me and then she saw it in Sea of Thieves. So now she's actually seeing the chicken with the pully in the middle and soon will notice why I dance like Haggis Mcmutton 🤣

They got almost everyone from MI1 SE to reprise their roles! The Lookout, the Storekeeper, Meathook, Bob the ghost, the Fettucini brothers, and I think Herman also, are voiced by the same actors. Also the music has the same kind of seamless crossfades between locations that iMuse used to do. For example when you run from the rowboat to the hanging skeleton and back, the same theme crossfades from marimba to banjo and back.

I just completed my first set of livestreams playing through LeChuck’s Revenge Special Edition; first playthrough was 9 hours on the Amiga and the second playthrough was 2 hour 50 on the Xbox 360 edition.

Now I’ve been emailed to say that Curse, Escape and Tales from Monkey Island are all on sale from STEAM! Bought the three of them for less than £10. Can’t wait to try these for the first time.

Playing this on Steam. In Part 4, in order to beat the fishermen at the burping contest, I need to drink the exotic drink. I can see the drink at the destroyed Scumm Bar. But the only selections I have are 'Take another drink' or 'Exotic Drink'. When I select exotic drink, the patron on the right says he is not done with it. Selecting another drink gives me a plain green drink, not the exotic one. How can I obtain the exotic drink? I must be missing something. I am a full fledged Chum, and have told him a story.

Hey everyone! I'm throwing my fiance a surprise Monkey Island themed birthday party. I've got decorations and food/drinks covered, but I'd like to plan some fun games for us and our friends to play inspired by challenges in the games. Things like the spitting contest, but obviously we would have to think up a way to play that without actually spitting (because gross), or pin the pin on Largo LeGrande's voodoo doll, etc. So let me hear your best ideas! Feel free to take inspiration from all of the games.
