I would have got over but of course there is a truck speeding past me on the left lol (I’m going 70)
People that merge onto the highway going 20 under…
[US]it also sucks being behind them on the onramp, i have to leave so much space otherwise im tailgating them going 20 under and that just makes everything so much more dangerous.
It always feels like, no matter the time of day or night, no matter the density of traffic, no matter the location, every time I come up to the on ramp, someone always gets in front of me at the last second and merges onto the highway at fucking 35.
few years back I was behind someone doing about 35-40 by the time we got to the end of the ramp and it was time to merge. I quickly moved to the middle lane and went around them and they flipped me off for tailgating them on the ramp.........
It made me angry just reading that. Fuck that asshole.
I get that almost every time I try and get onto a highway, and there’s an exit I take coming home that has a keep moving turn lane off the highway. 9 times out of 10 some idiot is stopped in the keep moving lane, with a sign right in front of their stupid face saying “keep moving”, and even when people honk at them they still just sit there. Half of you don’t deserve a license.
This happened every single day to me last week coming across town, and it's beyond infuriating.
You have to decide on your timing; I usually end up getting a full lane over before they're even on the highway.
Use your fucking gas pedal while on the on ramp. I fucking hate slow inattentive drivers. They are more dangerous than anyone else on the road
This. I can merge on my 150cc scooter and be doing the speed limit by the end of most on-ramps. There’s no excuse in a car made in the last century.
To be fair 150cc scooters absolutely whip
They swear they are being safe, too.
They think they’re “defensive drivers” but in reality they’re timid drivers and hesitation can cause accidents.
They'll also do 35 in neighborhoods and still think they're safe drivers.
I would have noticed them comming up on the ramp slow and slammbmy peddle to the metal to make hem get behind me.
Correct. They destroy the flow of traffic, which, you know, is the #1 thing they teach you NOT TO DO in traffic school. These people are baseline inept.
I almost rear ended one yesterday…was getting on the highway behind them and checking over my shoulder for cars before merging. And then almost hit them because they’d come to a complete stop. On a highway. With no traffic coming. I should have been paying more attention but my god
Came here to post this exact thing. It’s far worse being BEHIND the guy who doesn’t know how to merge, because when you finally get over, everyone is running up YOUR ass, and you have nowhere to go.
Agreed, can't stand that shit. I make sure to leave like a good 4 to 5 cars so I can get up to highway speed to merge.
Yep, almost gotta slow down to even slower speed a bit then time the gap instead of just a comfortable straight merge depending on what the highway traffic looks like... Adds another unfortunate variable and difficulty.
Even driving school does not teach merging ….
In the U.K., while we don’t need to go on motorways to pass, dual carriage ways are just 2 lane motorways with the same speed limit and merging is taught on those. In my opinion dual carriageways are even worse because there are fewer lanes. One lane is people doing 80+ or being sat behind the lorry doing 60 at best.
the worst is when they stop to merge.
Connecticut enters the chat
I've had the pleasure of never having to merge onto the 15 from one of those death traps they call "interchanges", but this isn't helped by the fact that all of the on ramps on that stretch have 1. no merge lanes 2. no on "ramps" to get you up to speed 3. stop signs instead of yields. I think this puts people into a mindset and mental muscle memory of "I need to stop before a merge"
The first time I saw what passes for on ramps in CT I nearly lost my mind. Who's dumb fucking idea was that?!
"but it's designed for it's rated speed limit?"
Bitch, even at 45 that's not acceptable!
stop signs instead of yields
Wuh…?
Yeah, so because these on ramps are like 30 feet long, they have a stop sign at the start of them, not a yield. Because reasons, even though you still have to yield anyway
Almost got offended then I remembered … yep, that’s us and the parkway. Cause who in their right fucking mind decided a stop sign was the best way for me to merge into traffic? I do like that they are widening the highway in certain places (thinking the Derby ramp for one where they can drive the entire length, speed up, and merge into traffic.
Idk how they’re gonna do it for a lot of the on-ramps though cause there’s no space.
Meemaw enters chat
A week ago I was behind a guy in a two lane roundabout straddle both lanes and slow down to 5 MPH reading the signs to figure out which way to exit it or keep going. I mean Jesus worst case just keep going around and you'll have those same choices again.
Apparently poor planning on their part DID constitute an emergency for me. I was just dumbfounded and didn't even honk...
i had seen one off 35w and the 694 exit ramp here in MN. the guy stopped completely at the end of the ramp when there is maybe 3 car lengths worth of space of getting on 35w before the exit ramp for 694e luckily the pickup truck behind the guy noticed and was able to stop in time but it was defiantly a hard stop. it wasn't even stop and go traffic so no need for them to stop in order to merge. people don't realize how dangerous it is. if traffic is flowing it is your responsibility to merge properly. if stop and go then zipper merge.
And they do it in a car that goes 0-60 in 60 seconds
Whenever I see a car about to merge, I move over a lane if I can. Better safe than hope the other car will do the right thing.
This is the essence of defensive driving. Assume the individual driving the other car is literally a baboon.
It's hard to see their bright red ass from my Honda Civic, so I always defensively drive to be safe.
How disrespectful to the intelligent baboons out there to lump them in with most drivers on the road.
And if you see then there, slow down. It won't hurt you!
Buffoon*
baboon
Homeboy was driving in the right lane fast enough to overtake the traffic on the left, he shouldn't have been on the lane period at that speed. He's whining about a problem he caused
In most cases, all other drivers are.
Homeboy was getting passed on his left by the truck so he did not have that option.
Could've just slowed down before the last second also. You can see this mf is driving stupid n you're just gonna continue n run into him?
Driver did the right thing here. No reason to slow down to 20 below the limit just in case that ends up being the merging cars speed.
It's not just in case. You can literally see it. You know when it's going to happen. To continue to drive into them or wait til you slam your brakes makes no sense
the other guy was waiting for him to pass kept slowing down, if op slows down more they just keep slowing down until they both brake. op did everything correct, the other guy made an extremely bad merge.
Right he made a bad merge, you can see he's making a bad merge, you don't continue on until your options are crash or slam on the brakes. That's stupid
nobody is slamming their brakes here, OP was slowing down waiting for the guy to speed up and he never did.
You're on a highway, it's not like you're at a stop sign and have the option of waiting a few more seconds for the other guy to go.
the other guy forced all this is what im saying, it's the perfect example of what's the worst possible way to merge in without just driving into an obstacle somehow.
He very clearly slammed on his brakes at the end before he said "come on you get on the the freeway going 20 under"
Idk what you mean by slammed, to me that means pressing tje brake as hard as you can, not gently slowing down 10mph
When you can. In this case, they would have been sideswiping a truck.
There was a box truck camping in the left lane, and a pickup truck coming up the left lane from behind them.
That's a tip for mildly good drivers.
Exactly. I'm watching this video and thinking OP is the mildly bad driver here. You see that car wayyyy before they go into the lane. I'm watching saying, why isn't OP shifting into the right lane?
I think you missed the left lane was occupied and/or was going to be cutting off the truck coming. Very defensive to cut other drivers off. Speed up on the on ramp.
Eeeeeexactly
same here. I try to be a polite driver at all times.
Yes, I move over a lane to make room or I adjust my speed to match that of merging traffic so that it's not all on them but they should at least attempt to get near the speed of traffic before merging.
lol yup, people always comment about how “kind” of a driver I am when they ride w me. I’m really just letting others go or have their way because I don’t trust them not to hit me if we’re at a 4 way stop or something like that.
I do the same
I always do this too. I check the other lane and if it’s good I’m moving over.
ngl one of my biggest driving peeves is people who don't efficiently enter or exit the interstate. the ramps are there to let u change speeds, you dont need to go from 35 to 75 on the interstate itself
I love on ramps for this reason. I can legally floor it to match speed. LFG! Haha
I used to frequently use an on ramp to a highway that went from a T intersection dead stop at a traffic light to a left turn down a sloping on ramp that after 200 yards merged into the left lane - the fast lane - of the highway.
Worst driving and merging I’ve ever seen was at this ramp. Full speed cars in the fast lane. Slow and timid drivers in the merge lane. So frustrating. I saw many many near wrecks, a few wrecks and lots of road rage.
I’d typically leave a sizable gab between me and the car in front so I still had room to get up to speed and merge if they totally blew it.
Once I was behind an ancient dodge K-Car that drove incredible slow to the light at the intersection. When the k-car made the turn onto the ramp I saw the littlest old woman driving it. I was braced for what was going to be a very dangerous slow merge.
As I slowed down to give her room it felt like my car stopped. The moment the old lady was on the ramp she floored it. The K-Car shot off down the ramp with the right turn indicator on and she was in the fast lane and up to speed. If the other cars didn’t move she would have hit them.
I call that the canon call method for merging. It’s not bad.
I don't think that counts as a "pet peeve". It's totally reasonable for this to upset you to a pretty severe level. If you're stuck behind them, they are putting you at severe physical risk.
My mom is 80 and can merge better than that, literally.
I live on 81, one of the busiest trucking routes in America, people do this shit all the time in sedans and it's infuriating because of how dangerous it is.
I have a theory it’s why 81 is such a hellhole to drive on. Semi trucks get over in the left lane because they know people don’t merge for shit and then get stuck in the left lane, causing traffic for miles.
I was wondering what the artist was so after seeing your comment I youtubed them..... my wife walked in and asked me what the fuck I was searchin for!!
I'd say it made the video at least 20% cooler
I can’t stand people who go slow like that. But the left lane is for passing and I would just get over to the left lane. Doesn’t excuse them, but i can see that from a mile away and I would never let them in front of me and force me to basically stop on a highway. Once in the left lane you can get back into right lane or wait until the truck gets over for faster moving traffic.
The only issue is the other dude who comes up is into left lane. Which is why it’s super important to see that early and get over early.
can’t stand when people do this, or come to a complete stop
I'd have personally moved over before then and before the passing car got close to be safe and to help them merge onto the road.
Isn’t every on-ramp a max acceleration test?
If you can beat them to the broken lines, speed up. If you see you can't, take your foot off the gas. It's better to be aware of everything around you than be willingly ignorant.
This and the truck chilling in the left lane, you hit the highway exacta.
I see 2 things in the US. Either the merging car will go full out and push in front of you, or they will expect you to go faster so they can get in after you. As a non-american I feel both should adapt to make it safe.
Was the car really doing 20? It didn't really seem that slow in the video.
he said "20 under" so the merging car is going 50 if I understood him correctly
Some people in this sub don’t seem to realize it’s an old ass car with probably a really slow pickup. I’ve had the misfortune of driving a car like this for a few months and I would have ended up in this sub
I just accept bad drivers exist, anticipate them as best I can and just go around them. Going slow in the fast lane, bad merging, forgotten blinkers, on and on… just get around them and move on.
I had a dude one time in front of me that was going 35mph trying to merge into 70-80mph traffic, he then slams on the brakes to stop so I floored it and cut him off.
Get up to speed if you want to join the highway, it's not hard and no car struggles to get to 70mph unless you're driving a semi.
It’s a vehicle. It has a motor and a pedal you apply pressure to for acceleration. Won’t even break a sweat. But people act as though it’s a bicycle and they have to do the work themselves to get it up to speed.
If you're even remotely concerned with fuel efficiency and engine longevity you'll know that flooring it is never good for either. Make good use of the space you're given to get up to speed, but do get up to speed.
There's a ramp I take every weekday where you're merging into the left lane to get on the freeway and once or twice a week I'm stuck behind someone getting on at 45mph..the cars in that lane are normally going 76-80...
I’ll never understand how some people can be so woefully incompetent and unaware. Painful to watch
You could've held off
I always call that the most passive-agressive driving you'll ever see!
It’s apparent people are not being taught to quickly and safely match highway speeds when entering.
Umm.. pretty common and as a smart driver, you should know to slow down and afford the merge, or gtfo to the left lane…. This is the drivers/recorder’s fault
Young inexperienced drivers who are scared and not accustomed to night driving or intimidated by freeway. They’ll get better with time. If you honk they may even make it worse by slamming on the brake in panic.
I’m glad you said that because that’s exactly why I didn’t honk lol
Holy shit that's a long merge lane. We here in Latvia have like 4x shorter lanes most places and the majority of people manage to merge well. How inept at driving they have to be to fuck up this beautiful foolproof runway of a merge lane?
They paid for the whole gas pedal, but they ain't using the whole gas pedal.
Trucker camping in the passing lane created this whole scenario.
lol that’s not the worst i’ve seen. ppl going 45mph to merge 70mph highway ppl r stupid
The worst thing for me is when I am behind them on the ramp and have to worry about someone slamming into my rear end because I've been forced out there 20mph below the flow of traffic.
I'll try to hang way back and let them meander onto the interstate so I jave enough ramp in front of me to get up to speed. Doesn't always work.
Never ceases to amaze me how many dumbfuck drivers seem surprised to find that on-ramps eventually do end and become interstate lanes.
you know a merge is coming, speed up and get over or prepare to slow down. already have the expectation that the merger is gonna be dreadfully slow. itll help u alot
Add to that: drivers who act like they have the right of way when merging onto the highway and expect you to get out of their way.
Nobody has the ROW when merging. That’s why it’s a merge and not a yield. Cammer is a terrible driver and most of the commenters here are idiots.
Just inject the downvotes to my veins!
When possible, and in not going to imped traffic, I move over to the next lane to avoid this issue. Not all on ramps give enough acceleration path, and some drivers are just afraid to use the skinny pedal enough. So I just try to avoid it. But some times it's just gonna be like this.
This is a near-perfect example of what is wrong with morons that do not know how to yield while entering a highway. And, yes, that is way too many of you if past comments and conversations are any indication.
It is the obligation and law (yes, the law) of the person entering the highway (the one that sees a yield sign) to safely enter the highway by speeding up or slowing down in order to merge safely.
What to most people say? 'YoU NeEd To MoVe OvEr!!!" Check out the 0:15-second mark. OP was supposed to move over and cut off a faster-moving truck just to accommodate your inability to follow the law?! This is also why you can't just tell people that they are supposed to move. When you are getting on the highway, many times the ramps are above or below grade - how do you know what the driver of the lane you are merging into is dealing with? They can see the lanes in front, beside, and behind them. Let them worry about that. You need to follow your legal obligation and YIELD.
Even if it is a clear day and zero other cars on the road - OP is under no obligation to move. Is it nice of them to do so? Sure. Do they have to? No. Be better folks.
Exactly this. The driver merging is the one who should be adjusting to the speed of traffic…not getting over when ever they want to at what ever speed they want to and forcing the drivers already in the lane they are attempting to enter to adjust to them.
It bothers me when I’m in the lane they are merging into but it also really bothers me when I am behind these people also trying to merge into traffic and I can’t because the guy in front of me is a fucking moron. (they’re on their phone too like 60% of people are looking at their goddamn phones while driving and driving like fucking imbeciles with no regard for anyone else on the road)
Preach!!
This is when you lay on the horn…
How do you see this guy from miles away and not get in the left lane to go around.
You are supposed to slow down, speed up, or get over. Not tailgate them to prove your righteousness
i saw 300 comments and i thought it was gonna be 300 comments about how when you have 10 seconds of watching someone who you know needs to merge in front of you, you should slow down.
all these people complaining about slow onramps, bro my car doesn't even accelerate that fast my 0-60 time is probably like 10 seconds. if the onramp is short or if there is any sort of curve i'm not gonna be going 70.
They should rename this subreddit to tailgaters anonymous
Sees a car about to merge... continues to accelerate like a fucking jackass. Did you just get your license OP? What happened to courtesy and respect for other drivers?
lol I’m going a steady 70, I can’t get over either and although it may have been a woopsie on my part but I kinda expected them to speed up to merge instead of slowly getting on the highway
what do you mean by expect? you had like 10 seconds of watching them. You didn't need to expect anything you just needed to use your eyes.
The camera is mounted maybe a foot higher and to the right of me so the camera can see them a bit earlier than I could, all I saw was the guard rail until I fully passed it
so.. 8 seconds?
Cmon man everyone knows it takes 20 seconds to go from 40-65mph
I love to rip in at 120+ with my Vette brett.
We need social reform 'cause we're just so criminal
Linguist subliminal, damages minimal
Ken Ashcorp is one of my favorite Youtube music artists.
In few words, merger didn't let you pass, he was an obstacle, illegal
Put it on lets go, girls go wild cuz were goong alfresco ha no need to perform hand on our bodies to keep ourselves warm. We need social reform cause were just so criminal. Linguists subliminal damage is minimal. Top percentile largest fraction massive attraction girl on girl action. Stop that im gonna need a redaction. You already got your reaction. Me? Im gonna keep on smiling. You? Your gonna need restyling Got a quote back From the jeweler Your getting about 20% cooler 😎
Next time you're driving at night, check your rear view mirrors and take a guess at how far away the cars are behind you and how fast they are moving.
This is literally every driver in the state of Utah. These people drive me crazy
Then put on your signal, merge left when you see Slowpokes McGee merging, and allow the speeding truck to take on the idiot that can't merge.
Short merge zone looks like an old Massachusetts on ramp
I maintain, there should be an authority force that their only responsibility is to pull these people out of their car and beat them piss out of them. Then leave them lying in a pool of their piss.
Just had this happen trying to get on the freeway with my mom. This car was going 30 under the limit and had a line of six cars including us behind it. Cop car on the highway slowed down and just kinda watched the dude struggle to figure out how to pull over while we were all stuck behind him (highway turned into a one road after second road broke off for an exit. 20 minutes later it turns back into a two lane)
We watched as the dude got Hella grumpy in his car as he sat waiting for the office off the side of the road
Shits aggravating...like speed the fk up grandpa before you get us all killed
just slam directly into the back of them retard. its your god given right to go forwards no matter what.
Right on 🍺
They need to have on-ramp speed limit signs to remind people not to drive like blue hairs while merging.
as someone who tries a semi truck, i hate that. we have 53 ft trailer and the left lane is full of cars. no where to go but to slow down. especially the ones that can’t decide if he should merge or not
you’re supposed to speed up when going on ramp!!
This merge lane is literally called an “acceleration lane,” folks.
This happens all the time near me here in NY.
“FUCKING GO!,” is usually my verbal response along with my internal dialogue telling me to ‘calm down,’ ‘slow down,’ and ‘we’ll get there when we get there.’
Yes I have a conversation with myself to not let the rage take over. I try to drive defensively these days instead of offensively. Getting older…and things are less “worth it.”
This is why many stay in the left lane in my city.
I remember my driving instructor telling me "On ramp is there to get up to speed. You should hear your engine roaring to get up to speed. You'll cause an accident if you stay slow"
Should have illuminated the path for them.
I always get over for people to merge. I thought that was the law.
Absolute pieces of shit.
Well you cant be going highway speed on and off a ramp exit it will cause an acciden. That is why they have reduced speed limit signs to allow you to enter safely and exit safely off the ramp. This driver in this was clear speeding not giving the person coming off the ramp cushion to accelerate up to speed of highway traffic. The driver should have switched lanes as the far right lane is the slow lane and if he was in such a hurry should have been in the left lane.
why didnt you get over?
It’s under the video, there was a truck to my left that you can see when I’m forced to slow down
Then proceed to accelerate past the semi they could have let merge, those are the worst
Some people have cars which do not accelerate quickly. I drive a Hyundai, and it's great for gas mileage. I drove around the United States several times in it, but yeah..the acceleration rate is not super
Some people have cars which do not accelerate quickly. I drive a Hyundai, and it's great for gas mileage. I drove around the United States several times in it, but yeah..the acceleration rate is not super
Well have to think about safety!😂
Highway = Fast
Those people bother me too but it looks like you had a month to get over before the truck was on your ass.
people who drive around with blinding headlights like OP deserve everybad thing that happens to them on the road
Bro they are stock headlights, and no the brights are not on
Wait till you learn about the 110 freeway in L.A.
Omg Ken Ashcorp ❤️
I know, it's so stupid. The ramp is there so you can get up to speed reaching the freeway to reduce congestion and keep the flow going.
Nice Yield, dumbass!!! People drive like ASSHOLES!!!
this wasn’t even that bad 💀 the car sped up once they fully merged and there was no way this car was going under 20 op should’ve slowed down a little once they notice they were merging.. op said they were going 70 and if the car was really going 20 mph op would’ve smashed into the back of their car bc they didn’t look like they slowed down at all until they were almost right up on the merging vehicle
I regularly get behind drivers going 10 to 20 below the posted speed limit on a stretch of road that is posted at 55mph for nearly 20 miles. Absolutely infuriating drive to and from work most days as it is rare to get an opportunity to pass safely. It gets worst every year and there has been accidents due to the slow drivers. Don’t know what the reason is behind this behavior. It is like people have a comfort speed and they won’t go past it or something. But the worst ones are definitely situations just like this. Nothing quite like nearly rear ending someone because you’d expect them to at least be up to 50-55mph getting onto the highway. The other day I had an elderly lady I got stuck behind while getting on the highway. Stayed behind her for about a 1/2 mile, she wouldn’t budge pass 45mph in a 65mph. Made me sick to think she is going to end up rear ended and crushed like a soda can from a big rig. Thankfully there wasn’t much traffic that morning.
Huge pet peeve. Just out there mindlessly putting lives in danger.
HATE that shit!!! I also hate how cars that are merging onto the interstate seem to think that they don’t have to yield to traffic already on the interstate. There is one exit in particular in my town that I have to pass every day on my way to work & every day it’s the same old bullshit. Cars having to come to a complete stop on the fucking interstate because of idiots merging on & seemingly not even looking first, just expecting anyone in the right lane to stop so they can merge..going 20 mph
Because of drivers like this, people hate staying in the right lane even more than they already do
Every day I need to merge on to I-95. The speed limit is 70mph and half the drivers merge at 40mph. It’s a straight on ramp. It drives me nuts. Especially during rush hour.
Cdl-A Truck driver here, this happens 10 times a day to me. I don't let it bother me anymore.
Move lane as soon as you see the merge sign. Then it won’t annoy you
No fucking way this dudes listening to 20%cooler in 2024
Could've easily gotten over it the left lane but hey let's just stay the course and complain about how bad everyone else drive
Well there was ample warning that someone was going in your lane. So you can also change the title to people that complain (but do nothing while driving) that people merging are going slower than highway speeds.
This is horrible. If you ever need to talk to someone about your experience please feel free to reach out. I'll lend a friendly ear if you want to talk about the trama you experienced here.
High AF 😄 🤣
People that don't get over in the left lane because of people that merge at 50... 🙄
Yea when the left lane is clear I agree. But when the left lane has people that refuse to let right lane drivers i, it becomes a bit of a challenge. Don’t you think?
Why the fuck is there a truck in the left lane
There’s always a truck in the left lane…always😑😑😑
Yeah, that shit winds me up. Fuck those guys.
20 under? I find myself often behind people that try to merge doing 40 while the slowest on the highway is a semi doing 75.
Acceleration ramp and deceleration ramp🙄🙄.. people need common sense test or an IQ before driving 🙄🙄
I would've blown the horn for a few seconds. Slow merging vehicles are the worst.
People who are terrified of merging just shouldn’t drive highways.
It’s just part of life. You both survived and lived to see another day.
The reverse is just as bad…when they slow down to exit while they are still in the fucking travel lane. Like dude you have a quarter mile off-ramp what the fuck.
Hell, sometimes I end up getting on the freeway behind mfs who are going 20mph, let alone 20 under. It's the fucking worst because now rather than just one asshole, there are 2 or more slow ass merges happening...
expect it to happen and plan ahead... no prob
Avoid them, or slow down and move over. If you had the time to do this, you had the time to just switch lanes 😄
That is super annoying. However, it’s also super annoying when people going 20+ over speed limit drive on the lane that people are trying to merge onto.
I always assume this is gonna happen and just slow down
Your music is terrible, you deserve everything bad that happens to you.
looks like you just wanted a reason to complain 🤷🏾♂️
This was bad?? Oh boy, come visit Czech Republic...
Mildly bad actually, that’s kinda where we are lol
You’re the bad driver. You’re supposed to get over
Pair them with the folks who start decelerating to exit while still on the highway.
And this is why these illegal highways are so awful. I blame them entirely for these kinds of drivers. They learn that you merge whenever you can, regardless of speed, because the state refuses to build proper acceleration lanes, then those people move elsewhere with proper acceleration lanes, but hold on to their bad habits.
Federal law requires onramps have an acceleration lane at MINIMUM 1/4 mile in length. While the ramps are decent for accelerating, the curves at the end where they merge into the highway are often far too sharp. I drive a semi truck and make constant use of the concept of racing lines (a path you follow from one shoulder to the other to make the curve less sharp) and use up the entire pavement surface, and I still have to slow down to 40ish on these curves and am forced to merge in at 45 or less.
The sad thing is, we can't even teach people how to properly merge because the road necessary for it simply doesn't exist.
Difficult to judge speed with a video. I'll take OP,s word he was maintaining 70. Then it appears the merging car slowed down at the last second forcing the filming driver to brake. Perhaps the merger panicked with all the speeding. Car coming on the highway had a long entrance ramp but only short time to merge, definitely a crappy driver, that's why I always stay on the left at risk of somebody driving on my tail at 80 mph. In which case I'll probably go 90 and I'll probably be the one getting the ticket.
it's the worst, here in texas we have some 75 and 80mph highways and people will enter them going 35 and it's scary as hell trying to merge when all the other cars are going 80 but you're stuck behind some parade warcher who wants to enter going l the highway like its a school zone
I’m probably too defensive of a driver, but I feel like OP should have moved over. There was plenty of time to get left after you notice someone on the on-ramp and before being passed. All this did was put three cars in danger
Edit: obviously though that car was going way too slow to be merging
Omg yes 20 percent cooler is a great song. Bring out the bacardi wooh!
As a driver, you are duty bound to make room and allow for the zipper merge. While this kind of thing *is* super annoying, you had to have known that you needed to slow down, or you'd be making a potentially fatal mistake. Just take your foot off of the gas next time, and let them ahead.
This isn't a zipper merge!
