Two types of owners in the Michigan cannabis industry.

"I can't name a single Great Lake but don't worry, I know this market bc I was rich in Cali/Colorado once upon a time you silly Midwesterners! Ope!" *blows money on ridiculous marketing and new investments instead of following labor or OSHA law or fixing existing problems*

and

"Me and 6 of my burnout boomer retiree friends are gonna start an LLC and sell weed again WOO GLORY DAYS!" *invests tons of money* *too stupid to figure out how to follow regs or take criticism from workers* *goes out of business* "Oh no! This market is so tough! No room for lil guys!"

Some owner probably touched your buds with his bare hands because he felt like he could and should. The plants in the grow room were showered in metal shavings from a contractor drilling into the roof. The trimmers were laid off before the package even finished testing. The lab won't fail their biggest client's products bc companies can still "lab shop" for another lab if they do. The kitchen the edibles came from has pest and mold problems. The workers come in sick and handle the weed bc they can't afford to stay home and rest. The budtender stocking and selling your merchandise feels unsafe when customers threaten to kill them and the manager is only concerned about losing business and doesn't care.

Everything I just said is something I've personally witnessed working in Michigan Cannabis for about 4 years. I was finally fired for "taking too many breaks" with no warning from a trim job (a very physically demanding job to do 40 hours/week) and called it quits and never looked back. Ended up getting really sick and haven't had a job since, but my resume is horrible looking now.

EDIT: Welp, it's been fun. This was all someone who isnt me and these are just allegations. I never expected 21k views and 28 shares (at this time) quite honestly! My favorite part is when people ask questions then don't understand my answer. It happens to me kind of often. It's mostly a problem on my end, I'm sure! People were nicer than I expected, honestly.

I hope if you came into work today and someone showed you my post, you got a good laugh. IYKYK, right? If you're an owner or manager (doubt it but who knows, people talk), maybe try to listen to workers and take their feedback into serious consideration. Invest in them, they are not "labor" or "capital" they are humans. "Safety" is not the same thing as "quality". Assuring one does not assure the other.

AND SOLIDARITY WITH UNIONS FOREVER! PEACE AND LOVE FOREVER IN THE MITTEN! WOO!

EDIT: Okay, I've decided to post some evidence!
