I just had the weirdest problem with my ND2 transmission. After driving for over an hour, I was going over the local mountains to get home and every time I would shift into third gear it would grind as if the clutch wasn't pressed in at all. This happened many times before I decided to stop using third gear completely on that drive. I assumed that the third gear synchro was completely shot, so I carefully drove home bypassing third gear. After getting home, I parked it for about a week because I had to do some traveling for work.
When I got back from my work travel, I immediately got in the car and started driving towards the dealership because it's still under warranty. On the way there, I decided to try third gear just to make sure that they would be able to duplicate the issue. Well, I'm glad I did that because third gear had absolutely no problems for the whole drive. In fact, I've never experienced the third gear grinding since that one night.
What do you think is going on with my car?? For context, the car is just a year old and has under 8k miles.
