I am on the pool restoration area and I have a soil rake and two cans of polishing wax. Do they ever get used or am I just taking up space?
So it does get used at sometime?
You can check on the wiki what the exact tasks are but I know for sure that the wax is used at the poolhouse, you need like 3 cans of it then
Once you finish the actual pool you go into the pool house and there you almost immediately have one wax. Not sure about the rest as I'm still doing it but it may take more than that, it's a fancy house 😁
Pool house as I recall requires a lot of primary and secondary cleaning supplies!
It does indeed, and yarn.
Thanks for the heads up! I’m doing the Casey/Skatie sign and I will make sure I keep my moths. Which, I just discovered, create the yarn.
As I just discovered, they also disappear after a certain amount of clicks, my bet is around 40. So keep them if you can, but they're free to produce so don't stress it if you can't, you'll make more 🙂
Both of those are used in the pool house.
If you don’t mind spoilers, do check the wiki on what’s needed for your future tasks before selling high level items.
Yes keep them, you will need a couple rakes and wax soon enough.
Echoing what everyone else said but definitely do not sell either of those. (I am trying to make two rakes now and hate everything haha.)
This page is bookmarked in my browser so I can always check what I need: https://merge-mansion.fandom.com/wiki/Tasks?so=search
NOTE: THIS LOOKS COMPLICATED BUT IT IS ACTUALLY SIMPLE. I BROKE IT DOWN TO MINI-STEPS.
Do you know how to "stack and store" unused-but-valuable items in the spot at the bottom center of your screen? I'm talking about the spot where, for instance, a blue chest (or, I believe, a piggy bank, etc) first APPEARS. You can "stack-and-store" many many items there.
To test the way it works, do this.
Locate a pulsing streetlamp (ripe to drop a moth) or pulsing tree (ripe to drop seeds) or anything else ready to drop something.
Do NOT clear any adjacent space. Leave it completely surrounded.
Choose an easy-to-replace item anywhere on your board that you want to test-stack. This is now your "test item". (Don't use a valuable item this very first time. You might mess up.)
SLIDE that "test item" into any of the occupied squares adjacent to the pulsing light/tree/whatever.
Doing that will shove the other item out of the way. Your "test" item will now be adjacent to that (still pulsing) light/tree/whatever.
Check the spot at the bottom of your board. If it's empty, that's great. If it already has items there, I recommend you move those items so you can watch what happens.
Click your "test item" and SELL it.
IMMEDIATELY "cancel" the sale.
The space the "test item" HAD BEEN in will be occupied with a moth or seed or whatever your lamp/tree/whatever just dropped. And you'll see the "test item" itself is in that stack-and-store spot below your garage.
I don't think there's a limit to how many items you can stack-and-store in that one little space. In Sunny House I routinely have 30 or so. Once it got up to 50. (Among other things, I had awhole bunch of gloves and pot fragments and garden tool barrel pieces I didn't want to sell but didn't have room for. I also keep rare items there.)
ISSUES:
ONE: if you stack-and-store multiple items, each item is added to the BOTTOM of the stack, so they won't be visible to you. A counter is a nice feature, cuz you can watch the number increase as you stack.
TWO: It will take some strategizing to learn how to loop through the pile when you want something from it. So keep a small stack at first until you figure out what's best.
THREE: Don't go into an auto-pilot frame of mind while you're doing this. If you lose focus you might forget to "cancel" your sale and that item will be history.
Oh wow, this is a great hack!
I tried this, but may be doing something wrong, or maybe they changed the way it works in the latest update... My item I wanted to store came back to the spot where the butterfly popped in the the space. (I am assuming the butterfly is in my stack but I have a bunch of stuff there already so I am not sure. Does this still work?
(I just put a NOTE but it didn't attach to that message. It's separate. Do you see it?)
Your flower might have already been used up(?). Did you still see it pulsing? Sometimes a flower only gives out one butterfly, or its not ready to drop one yet. . If there is nothing pulsing before you sell your item, then the spot stays empty and when you cancel the sale, the item you just "sold" returns to that empty spot. So there would be no butterfly.
I hope that wasn't as confusing as I think it was. Did it make ANY sense? ☹️🤪
I definitely saw the butterfly, and there were 3 other Orange flowers that were ready to drop in that same spot. Weird...
NOTE: Did you actually SEE a butterfly drop?
Yes, definitely.
Definitely don’t get rid of those, especially the polishing wax. Wax is so rare and cleaning cabinets take ages to recharge these days
