Hi everyone,

I hope it’s okay that I am here. I am a woman who has transitioned during adolescence. I’m now 42 and post bottom surgery (commonly known as SRS in our community) as of 3 years ago.

post bottom surgery, I have noticed that regardless of my activity level, I am gaining weight rather easily. I am not here to invade your space, I promise. I just need some insight from my fellow women.

incase you are unaware, post bottom surgery means I now have a vulva, and beyond that it also means that I do not produce any testosterone other than the levels that are present in natal women like yourselves.

Also. Some of you have opted for bio-identical estrogen post menopause - this is the same estrogen that I take to maintain my own estrogen levels.

I guess my question is - what works? Does anything? Are there women here who are on something other than estrogen in order to help maintain your weight? Am I alone in this?

I have heard of natal women going on low doses of testosterone as well as a way to help maintain weight.

Any insight would be appreciated. I hope I haven’t intruded here.

Thanks,

Elyse
