Hello. Looking at spring break in Maui with 5 yo. Grand Wealia used to be the only place to stay but now a see mixed reviews more than in past. Any recos for activities plus luxury hotels? Westin? Four seasons? Grand Wailia? Hyatt?
We found the price the same btw FS and Grand Wailea oddly- maybe it was a fluke. FS does not nickel and dime which was nice. I’d give them the edge.
Four Seasons Maui would definitely be our top recommendation out of all the luxury hotel options in Maui. Is there a reason you are looking at Maui specifically? Four Seasons has a great Kids for All Seasons club, and the island itself has a lot of activities. At FS Maui, there is actually a guaranteed room upgrade promo happening right now too! Happy to answer any questions you may have about the property. 😊
No reason other than never been. I had someone else recommend the bonvoy property too since FS is so much more $
That's definitely a great choice with young kids. Let us know if you have any questions about either hotel!
Do you think GW or WB is better? Heard that GW is very dated and water elevator doesn’t even function. We do not mind big.
The water elevator has been down and "getting fixed next year" since 2021 at least. Are you looking for resorts with child focused amenities/kids clubs or is it more general atmosphere and activities that you are thinking of?
Wailea has the best waterpark, if that is something that is important to your kids.
If it's in your price range, we also recommend the Fairmont. Every room is in 800+ sq ft 1 bedroom suite- a great value. They have 12 poolside suites next to the family pool with swim up bar and waterslide, and faster access to the beach than walking all the way back to the elevators.
If you book with an advisor, there is a 4th night free promotion which could offset the nightly rate as well. Plus the daily breakfast, resort credits, and other amenities.
Let me know if you'd like to connect with a member of our sales team! Our hotel only service is completely complimentary- you would just get these benefits listed above. 😊
I would choose between the following 2 the FS or GW, (as Hyatt is a step down): The Grand Wealia and FS hotels are right next door to each other, so in terms of There's a couple differences between the two, the FS has a specific kids club while the GW has a river system between the pools and a big waterslide for (mainly) kids which is going to keep a lot of kids entertained. Both are very kid friendly and will cater to kids well. The snorkeling off the beach here is good too.
Either way definitely go with a TA so you can get the best room allotment and upgrades at the property.
The FS is going to have, IMO, slightly better dining and hard product, but the price is a big difference in favor of the GW.
For activities, there's snorkeling, coastal hikes, catamaran cruises, outrigger canoe experiences, etc. A lot of people also do road to hana, but i'd skip doing the entire thing with a 5y.o.
If you want to get more lux, there are helicopter tours, and boat rentals for snorkeling and dolphin cruises, or private guides that will drive up road to hana and give you the fun history and stop for short hikes throughout.
