“Hard R” means using the n-word with the ending in “r” instead of an “a.” The “hard r” version is thought to be even more offensive, but obviously you shouldn’t ever use either one.
Linus on the WAN Show admitted to using the “hard r” a few times when he was younger, and Luke was like “Uhh what the fuck” and it turned out Linus thought “Hard R” meant “retard.”
Well to be fair, that WAN show was the first time I learned about this. I was just as confused as Linus was when that happened.

You are more correct than the people who think it has 1 singular meaning/use. Maybe its cuz I grew up with a mom who worked at a school with mentally challenged children but using hard-r to describe the use of tard vs retard was definitely common.
