Why do I keep losing? What do I need to upgrade?

I just got access to the arena finally but I keep losing. My squad is 2.7 million power. I have 1.3k level 6 troops and most of the people above me have either equal or sometimes lower stats. What am I missing? Most of the time my heroes are even upgraded higher than my opponents. The only thing I can see different is I don't have Kimberly. Kimberly seems always be the strongest. Is not having Kimberly really that detrimental? Or is there something else I am missing? I have Kimberly on my other account so I didn't really want to pay for anything on this one.

I would choose either Violet or Scarlet to continue with and ditch the other. Their job is to stand in front and absorb damage; that's it. Scarlet one of them is useful and the other useless.

Stop building one of them because you're wasting resources; save those resources for a damage dealer and put them in the back row.

That makes sense now. I just ditched Scarlett for an attacker and I won. It looks like from my stats I should update mason. He is the only that comes close in damage at the moment to a lower Kimberly. Thank you for the advice.

Definitely focus on upgrading Mason as he can become a UR hero that you can upgrade using purple shards later in the game. He's the best hero for a f2p, I believe. You had the right idea by going all tank, but having a shield on your backrow is probably eliminating any bonus you get from having all tanks.

I replaced Scarlett for Maxwell. He's not a tank but everyone's stats grew when I added him. I do have Farhad and Richard who are tanks but Maxwell is the only attacker besides mason with 2+ stars. I also have blaze and venom but they're not tanks. Besides mason is Maxwell cool or should I pick one of the others?

Maxwell is easy to grow as the server gets older since they give away his shards in a monthly event.
