40 dollars an hour. Which isn't a bad deal
Yes it is.
I'm not gonna pretend to be a chef and say thats good or bad, but what do they even make hourly? I thought i remembered hearing back of house always gets stiffed at restaurants, so now i'm curious what your typical chef makes that they'd turn their nose up at 40 dollars an hour?
An executive chef makes, on average, 58k a year usd.
A sous chef makes 42k on average. A line cook usually pulls around 24k.
Depends where. At an independent restaurant in my city head chefs pull $60k or more.
I work in event catering as executive sous chef and earn 6 figures
Doesn't make sense to compare those two. Different clients and expectations and price point. Same for private chef work.
