In 70 AD 1.1 million Jews were killed, and another 97,000 were taken captive by the Romans. Does anyone know what the population was at that time? How many were left behind?
Thanks in advance!
I was wondering the same thing. I skimmed through most of this list and I was just adding up the millions that have been documented to have been murdered throughout the millennia. No wonder our numbers are so small with the millions murdered and millions more forced to convert or abandon their religion. It’s interesting how you see so many people from around the world on the different, genetic subs, showing trace Jewish ancestry. And that’s just recent from the last few hundred years of data points. Especially a lot from Latin America likely linked to the Spanish Inquisition and Jews moving to the New World. I think I once read that 10s of millions of Brazilians have Jewish ancestry or some crazy number like a huge portion of their population like 50M+.
