Did he explain Jaws getting his voice back in the Moonraker novelization? I’ve not read either.
And how about Dolly’s magical disappearing braces…?
The novelization is set in the continuity of the books, so it’s actually quite different by design from the films.
I give up my Dolly had braces belief at this point but it is a very interesting thing that happened to a lot of us
For real, I thought that was the whole reason they liked each other
I thought it might have been. Not read either in years!
Funny thing is, the character is supposed to be Polish, and 'Zbigniew' is indeed a regular polish name, but 'Krycsiwiki' looks polish on a first glance, but it's a total gibberish made from random letters.
(source: I'm Polish)
Yeah, I recently read the novelization and had a hard time with Jaws' surname. I know how "Zbigniew" is pronounced from being familiar with Zbigniew Brzezinski. But I couldn't find any sensible flow in "Krycsiwiki." "Krih-SIV-iki" was my best shot.
That's because it's non-pronounceable in Polish. Some of those combinations of letters just do not exist in Polish.
Whats the roughest pronunciation you could give it?
Ze-big-nev, i c
Witwicki and Krzyżanowski were the closest surnames I could find.
Krzywicki is a quite common surname
I also like him backing up Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore
In my head it's the same guy.
Same ,scary intimidating without metal Teeth
MI6 got him some real teeth and a house for him and Dolly, so long as he stayed mostly out of trouble.
Someone should deepfake Roger Moore standing with him at the tournament.
Mute? He's talking in Moonraker. He must've learned how to talk again in-between the films then, I guess.
A wizard did it
I didn't know Lucy Lawless was on reddit....
No, just Xena
I see....
“Here’s to us”
when he wrote the novelisation, moonraker had not released yet.
Yeah, I realize that, but it doesn't explain how he can be talking in Moonraker though.
In TSWLM he doesn't say a word (not even when he drops a big rock on his own foot). So my comment was mostly a dig at Moonraker (for not keeping continuity) more than anything.... but I like him talking so.... it's a tough one to call.
*edit: grammar
You’re trying to connect two separate things. The novelizations have their own continuity.
So, are you saying that he doesn't talk in the novelization of Moonraker?
One of the most classic Bond villains. I never knew he had a name.
I just watched the behind the scenes documentary on Moonraker and the director said they received so much fan mail about Jaws after TSWLM they chose to bring him back and that he was very popular with kids who wanted him to be a good guy so they gave him a reason to turn good.
They even recovered him and Dolly safely from the satellite if I remember correctly. So he could've come back a third time.
Technically he did in the video game Everything or Nothing. Dolly must have dumped him or hit hard time cause he is back to being a villain.
In the original novel, where he's just a mafia hood, he's called Sol "Horror" Horowitz.
I can see him being brought back in a reboot.
pretty sure hinx was intended to be a reference to jaws. mixed up a bit to fit the craig continuity
That’s what I thought. They treated his character like a modern day reboot of Jaws.
"Well, here's to us"...
So how did Jaws get aboard that airplane at the beginning of Moonraker?
Imagine trying to pronounce that name with a metal jaw.
Didnt know he was thaaaaaat Polish, haha
Am I mistaken in thinking Silva from Skyfall was Craig’s Jaws? And I guess rami malek would be Dr. NO?
"He was left mute"
Jaws after saying "Here's to us" in Moonraker: 😳
Are these books good? Ive never heard of this author before but a quick amaZon search shows moonraker and spy who loved me novels
Hot take - “James Bond, The Spy Who Loved Me, the film novelization by Christopher Wood is the best non-Fleming Bond novel ever written.

To clarify for the confused, this is from Christopher Wood’s novelization of the film.
