Lake Mary is still frozen. the west side of McGee Pass is partially melted out now. generally looks like the snowpack is pretty thin in exposed areas, with drifts down to 8k and more consistent coverage above 10k. check back in a month? a week of hot weather can change conditions quickly.
This is awesome! So snowpack this year is looking pretty comparable to 2023. Eek, does not fill me with confidence about it being all cleared up by then. Thanks!
I posted 2020 Caltopo above since that is my best guess for a comparable to the current year (within the limited number of years for which Caltopo provides satalite photos).
I’ve done McGee pass to connect with the JMT. Big McGee lake is awesome. I walked from the Crowley esta stop to the trailhead and up. That walk sucked major ass (soooo hot) and up to the campground and up to the lake on first day.
