1. I am new. Where should I learn from?

Zerodha has an excellent learning resource - Zerodha Varsity.

Go through it. Further learning depends on what you want to learn (Intraday equity, swing trading, F&O, Forex, etc). Depending on your needs, you can look up books and go with the reviews to pick the best ones.

2. Which broker should I use?

The broker you choose depends on your use. Here are some common brokers and their unique features to help you decide:

  • Zerodha - Zero brokerage on delivery
  • Groww - Easy to use for Mutual Fund Investing
  • Shoonya - Zero brokerage across all segments (known for some technical issues)
  • ICICI Direct - Expensive in terms of charges but great service (recommended if your capital is large)

These are only suggestions and there are many others. Do your own research and pick what suits you.

3. Should I buy / sell / hold?

Remember that asking this question on a public platform will get you many varied opinions and it will only confuse you.

Please do your own research and don't ask such questions. If you still want to ask this question, please post your own opinions/research too.

4. Portfolio Reviews

Remember that asking this question on a public platform will get you many varied opinions and it will only confuse you.

Please do your own research and don't ask such questions. If you still want to ask this question, please post your own opinions/research too.

5. Unable to sell / exit because the stock is in lower circuit.

Sorry about the loss. If a stock is stuck in a lower circuit and keeps hitting back-to-back circuits, your best bet is to place a sell order at market price every morning as soon as the market opens at 9:15AM. Your holding will be sold as soon as the circuit opens.

As a general rule, avoid buying stocks that frequently move in circuits and / or have low liquidity. It is simply not worth the risk.

6. What should I do with my money? Where should I invest?

Remember that asking this question on a public platform will get you many varied opinions and it will only confuse you. Everybody has a different requirement and your investment needs to fulfill your need.

Please do your own research, learn about investing/trading and then take your decisions yourself. If you still want to ask this question, please post your own opinions/research too.

7. Please suggest financial advisors.

Such questions are better answered on google. Look up registered financial advisors near you and you'll find plenty. Go and talk to them - if you still have doubts after talking to a financial advisor and need opinions on what you have been advised, please be specific in your post and the community will help you.

8. What is an ETF?

ETF refers to Exchange Traded Funds which are basically mutual funds that are traded on the stock exchange (NSE or BSE in India) like stocks.

Just got the news seems like 3.5% up ,anways we will get to know tomorrow gn 😴.

Why did upa 04-14 perform better than nda 14-24?

We saw 17-18% CAGR gains between 04-14 on the Sensex and just about 12% for 14-24, why do you guys think the lower gains happened? P.S - Pre covid performance 14-19 also nothing that could have suggested something phenomenal imo.

Average up or wait?

I bought 20 shares of Tata motors at 450. But I think the value will increase by a lot over the coming years because the fundamentals are strong and it's a stock to hold on to. Do I average up considering the overall growth or wait?

Sahara Refund

This is regarding Sahara Refund Portal:

My father, who is no more, invested some amount in Sahara 10 years ago or so in the name of himself and my mother. I have two queries regarding the current situation in which forms are being submitted and refunds being processed through the CRCS portal:

  1. Some of the bonds( investment certificates) are lost, but I do have all the details. How do I approach this situation? Since the image of bond is required to be uploaded on the portal. Can I get any duplicate certificate or something? Anyone in the same situation? What's the way out?

  2. How do I claim amount for my deceased father, nominee is my mother. It's not possible through the portal. Any alternatives?

Thanks in advance.

Jo bhi kaho, ADANI stocks 5 saal tak bohot badhenge. Discussion

I honestly don’t like adani stocks and have none in my pf, but as seen in the past years, they will perform somewhat similar in this new term as well.

Good morning, you all.

So, the news is about GDP growth, where India's GDP growth exceeded expectations, reaching 7.8% in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2023–24 (FY24), as reported by various sources.

The fiscal year 2023-24 witnessed a robust GDP growth rate of 8.2%, a substantial increase from the previous fiscal year's 7% growth. Despite challenges in the agriculture sector, India's GDP for FY24 surpassed expectations, indicating continued economic momentum and stability.

100%POP No chance of loss

So this is a subreddit created for learning However what I see is over half of the time people say that I lost 100k in options and I feel like cutting my nerves, hanging my self, or dying.
It's repetitive and adds no value.
Instead, people should share some tips on options, some good strategy that actually helps others
Like the one I inserted above
With a POP of 100 % this strategy cannot have a loss even in the worst possible cases on expiry, good, right?
And if the market moves even a lot or does not, you still profit through decay, earning between 3- 6k!
What do you guys think?

MF investment strategy impact on returns in long time period.

Most people say that average returns that they have got from mutual funds are ~ 12 % after long time period(10 - 15+ years). Can the people who are investing since long time please share info on their returns.

My point is if after investing for long term, we are expecting to get same/similar returns irrespective of the strategy( only active MFs, only passive MFs, active + passive MFs, etc) then, why not just invest in passive funds.

Please share your inputs.
