interesting, can you explain a little? why beer?
Bear has hops and grain in it and will make horses sweat due to the digestive brakedown.
That was one hell of a chug 😂
He wasted no time 😆
Isn’t that a NA Guinness though?
Yes it is :)
Party pooper 😜🎉
I didn’t know horses could have beer 😆
They can, and it can help horses with anhidrosis sweat
I like to know who first discovered this
Military I presume. “Whiskey for my men. And beer for my horses.”
We had a mare growing up that would ONLY eat her food drenched in Milwaukees best 😅
The yeast in it is actually good for them you want to give them more of a dark beer tho like Guinness!
We gave our mare beer when she had trouble lactating. She loved it, but not as much as this sweet boy does!
TIL you can give horses beer lol
I mean, I won't say no if you give me some...
Anything but IPAs
Schluuurrp!
i love that horses can have beer. just crack one open and drink with your horse, there's not many animals that can do that
Most animals can have beer, your dog or cat can drink beer they'll just be staggering around after one drink...
I wonder what it takes to get a horse drunk? Back of the envelope maths it takes around 100g of alcohol to get me visibly drunk and I'm 50kg. 600kg horse is 12x so around 1.2kg alcohol, so around 1.5L pure alcohol, which is like 3.75L rum or 30L of beer.
Useful math
Omg I'm sure mine would love a beer!!
There is even a song about it, Whiskey for my Men , Beer for my Horses.
i never knew this, i had to listen to it and I LOVE IT! Devouted metal-fan that i am, i have soft spot for this
Fellow metal fan here too, but I always have time for Willie Nelson!
Wth that’s something new for me 😳 I didn’t know that
But can they get drunk or something after that? And have weird behavior?
Well it's not easy to ger them drunk since they have enzymes that break down alcohol in their digestive system. I mean i think it could be done, but would require a ridiculous amounts of strong alcohol and i would think it would result in major health issues.
Yes makes sense
Someone answered my question and it makes sense 😂 about the amount of beer it would take to make a horse drunk. I’m not irl worried about that because mine sweats… yes he does very effectively.. thank God that’s one problem I don’t have, fingers crossed it doesn’t become a problem in the future
Haha I didn’t even know about horses and beer, but when I saw your question, I immediately thought of this scene and started laughing.
Being around horses is an endless learning process 😂
That’s actually god for the gut ! It’s common practice on the racetrack
A horse after my own heart.
I usually do this to help with sweating during the summer here in south TX. My boys love Guinness.
WHISKEY FOR MY MEN, BEER FOR MY HORSES!!
We give beer in the summer to help them Sweat
