My hair is fine and thin, and also curly. It’s straightened in the pics, which is not something I do more than once a month or so.

A few years ago I noticed that much of my hair is only a few inches long. At the time I was constantly wearing tight ponytails, so I immediately stopped doing that and switched to claw clips and scrunchies, and wearing it down as much as possible even though it looked terrible.

It’s been a solid 3 years since I made that change, and yet my hair is all weird. The worst of it is behind my ears and on the back of my head. It’s so disheartening, I literally hate my hair and am on the verge of shaving my head because I can’t stand how bad it looks anymore.

I’m not great at getting regular haircuts, but I do give myself a trim every few months. Is it possible that I did originally have breakage from the ponytails, but because I didn’t trim the damage it just never recovered?
