Elaborate with your thoughts on the games and make it easier for other users to find what game you're talking about by putting the title in bold.

Also, please make sure to use spoiler tags if you're revealing anything about a game's plot that may significantly impact another player's experience who has not played the game yet, no matter how retro or recent the game is. You can find instructions on how to do so in the subreddit sidebar.

From Glory To Goo - Stratagem Blue - A Colony Survival RTSIndie Sunday

Hey r/Games,

I'm a solo indie dev creating a survival RTS (same genre as They are Billions, Diplomacy Is Not An Option etc). In it you build a colony with the support of a spaceship in orbit and hold back hordes of aliens.

For replayability the player can unlock a wide variety of captains, each of which have different gameplay mechanics, unique units and skills. There are also many biome specific exploration incentives like native aliens you can ally with or destroy, lost colonists and more. Plus plans for multiple factions and a campaign.

The game is now out in Early Access and I have left the demo up as well (it's a little out of date)! A few days ago I also released its first significant update which addressed lots of feedback from players and it's also now on discount. The game's been covered by some popular indie Youtubers like Splattercat, Wanderbot and Orbital Potato.

WHERE BIRDS GO TO SLEEP – Quiet Little Feet – Story Rich Adventure RPG with Survival Elements inspired by Disco Elysium and Pathologic 2 Indie Sunday

Hello again r/Games,

Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1387640/

Short Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vweo8K41mSg

We are a married couple making Where Birds Go to Sleep, a narrative adventure RPG many dub an "intrusive thought simulator" in which you do not directly control the main character.

In line with our tagline "Become what you hate", the character you “possess” is a vile and horrible smuggler, and you inhabit part of his consciousness. You influence his psyche via your choices with a unique twist: he can disagree with your choices or vice-versa, which makes the player/main character dynamic unique. You can try making him a decent man or watch how low he will sink.

The story and game focus on themes of paranoia, entrapment, cruelty and manipulation, where the player is manipulating the main character, the main character is manipulating Dunlin, a major secondary character... and then it goes all wrong!

Thank you for hosting Indie Sunday!

Fair and square - Octopus Engine - A small roguelike real time strategy game with coopIndie Sunday

Hello everyone,

Fair and square is a rts where you have to defend your base from waves of enemies that grow stronger and stronger. Luckily you too get stronger and stronger. You will need to expand to get resources and keep your base alive!

Here is the trailer : https://youtu.be/PtWp_jYPcUk

Every run you get to chose a unique starting unit. After each wave cleared or specific building placed, you get to choose some bonuses to increase your chance of surviving the 12 waves coming at you.

I have been working for 18 months on this project. It was a long and wild ride as the technical difficulties to build an RTS are big! Not even talking about a multiplayer RTS! My brain was so close to explode on so many occasions and even as of today I have so many things that could be done better.

But for now I am very happy to share this demo with you, you can check it out here : https://store.steampowered.com/app/2546350/Fair_and_Square/

Hi ! What do you get when you mix Pendleton Ward's Adventure Time with Stephen King's Dark Tower? Probably, a lawsuit or even two. But hopefully, I managed to adapt these two sources of inspiration with enough originality to make the resulting story my own.

Trailer (Caution! Predatory dryads!): https://youtu.be/Q4HWsqDoTz0

Also, making funny comics about the game!

Genopanic - Mobirate - a colorful sci-fi platformer with metroidvania elementsIndie Sunday

Genre: Platformer, Metroidvania, Exploration, Adventure
Setting: Sci-fi, 2D, Pixelart
Features: Singleplayer, Steam Achievements, Full controller support
SteamDeck: Running great on SteamDeck, green tick "SteamDeck verified" soon

Hi all! Genopanic dev here.

3 long years of development, and now our game is finally released on Steam!

First of all, I want to note that Genopaniс is not quite a metroidvania in the usual sense, but rather an exploratory platformer with metroidvania elements.

Our game has a low entry threshold, so even people who are far from platformers can play it comfortably.

We've put a lot of effort into creating an enjoyable, soulful game with juicy pixel-art and atmospheric music. Our composer wrote more than 20 ambient tracks for the game (by the way, they are now also available for purchase on Steam, including as part of a bundle with the game)

We were inspired by Metroid Fusion, and also kept in mind such atmospheric references as Prey and Half-Life, but did not forget about humor and cuteness to convey a slightly scary atmosphere combined with funny goofy animations, characters and sounds.

Fans of hardcore Metroidvanias may find it too linear, but still, I hope some of you might like the game

A short space adventure for a few hours (usually 4-5 hours)

The game has just been released on May 17th, and is now available on Steam with a 10% discount

AETHUS - Pawsmonaut Games - Physics-driven sci-fi Survival set beneath an alien planet.Indie Sunday

Hi folks, first Indie Sunday post, really excited!

I'm an ex-AAA (7 years) solo-indie developer making AETHUS - a sci-fi survival/base building game set on (and beneath) an alien planet in the far future, where ultracapitalist megacorporations control the galaxy.

AETHUS is my love-letter to survival games, and tries to address one of the biggest shortcomings I feel about the genre - a lack of high quality narrative/story to drive the game forward.

In AETHUS, you'll unravel an dystopian conspiracy as you explore deeper within the planet, mining for riches with physics-driven gameplay as you harvest and craft hundreds of items while building up your mining outpost on the surface.

TRAILER

STEAM PAGE

I'm planning to release the full game (no early access!) next year, 2025, on Windows PC via Steam.

Finally, there will be a demo available next week, Friday 24th May, where you can try the game for yourself! Make sure to Follow the Steam page to find out what time this will be available!

Can't wait to have you join us in exploring AETHUS.

Fakutori - Antoine Latour - A new laid-back factory automation game where you try to craft the elusive legendary blocks! No limits, no pressure, just do it your way!Indie Sunday

Check out our Steam page : HERE

You start with 4 elements, and from there you must manipulate those to craft the legendary blocks : Did you know you can make a wormhole with just some fire, air, earth and water ?

Unlocking new blocks can happen in various ways, for example let's see how to get filthy rich by making Oil :

  • You can create Smoke, by combining air and fire. Smoke being.. well smoke, it doesn't fall, it goes upwards.
  • As you all know, every matter that goes up for 10 seconds morphs into Ether
  • Letting an Ether block stay still for 10 seconds turns it into Time
  • You can then combine one block of time, with one block of wood and one block of earth to get Oil.

Because what is oil if not wood that spent a lot of time in the earth ? That's simple logic !

There is no enemies, no timer, nothing to make you sweat. You do your thing, create your factory how you want, when you want : nobody will ever know if it's a mess :)

Our Steam page and trailer are up here -> https://store.steampowered.com/app/1459800/Fakutori

Come take a look and wishlist if you like what you see !

Mighty Marbles - Destined - A cute physics based marble game where you are the level, inspired by those physics toys you might have played as a child.Indie Sunday

Mighty Marbles is a cute physics based game where you control the level to guide the marble to victory. Inspired by the desire to see real life physics toys as a video game! Roll, solve and triumph in the fast paced bite sized levels.

I have just added full steam deck and controller support. Have a look at it running on steam deck here.

I have also been working on hard on also improving the sound to feel like the classic toys which you can check out here.

I made this little game because there was really nothing like it which I found surprising. I hoping it is very nostalgic and cross generational. Hopefully there is place for this kind of game :)

It you want to find out more visit the official site or the steam page for it.
