My baby just turned 4 months and has been growing right on track. Lately, during feedings, he’s been pushing and pulling at his bottle while he’s feeding, making it hard for me to feed him. When he first started doing this, we were using Preemie Dr Browns nipples with Dr Browns bottles, and we went up in nipple size to a size 1. He still pushes and pulls at the bottle. When he does this, I’ll give him a break from eating to see if he was just trying to be done, but then he’d cry to keep eating.

Has anyone else had this happen with their baby? Is it a phase? Did anything help? Did you figure out if it was an issue related to something else?

Some background: my baby has been on reflux medicine since 1 month and has been doing well on it. I have tried pace feeding, changing positions, etc, with no changes. He is teething, no teeth have come in yet though. No bad gas issues, normal BMs. Normal amount of spit up for a baby, I think…

My husband thinks he’s trying to “help” but lacks the dexterity. The best we can do is try to hold his little arms down so he doesn’t go buckwild. He’s freakishly strong! Sometimes he even puts his hand in his mouth while he’s trying to drink 🤦🏼‍♀️
