Lately, I have seen many designers switching from Figma to Sketch or other alternatives. I really wonder about the scale of this movement. Who is leaving Figma?
The grass is always greener. Figma is still light years beyond Sketch, or any other tool. But when you look at something from the outside in, you don't see all the problems.
The "switchers" remind me of when I was a kid and did not get my way, so I ran away from home. I rode my bike down the street and sat in a yard until I was hungry. I was home in one hour.
And that's the f*cking problem. Figma knows they are home.
Figma does bare minimum to stay relevant and make money. Figma with it's billion dollar evaluation made it risky for others to compete for this market sector.
Competition would fix the stagnation, but we don't have anything since XD. And completely idiotic situation with Adobe killing XD before they finalised Figma acquisition. XD could be the catalyst. Either XD or Figma would strive to be better. Too bad Adobe has great people but terrible management. Figma has terrible both.
