I am selling my couch and it’s one of those real big sectionals, powered recline, leather, like new condition. I really barely used it but we’re moving now and I need one that matches my new home.

I’m asking $3,000.

How do I protect myself?

1) I’ve seen suggestions for cash being safer. $3000 is a lot of cash in this case. Is it being too unreasonable to ask for cash only?

2) I’ve also seen “don’t share personal information like phone number email or address”. My couch is at my place (house) and I’ll want help from the buyer in moving each piece out. So I’ll need to share my address. I thought about loading it in a truck with the help of a friend and meeting elsewhere but if I were a buyer, I’d want to see the powered function of the recline feature before buying.

What would you all do in this situation?
