That and the Tifa in the lifestream scene similar to the scene that happens after cloud gets mako poisoning made me think they wanted to show fans they hadn't forgotten and decided to indulge a bit early. They did the same thing by introducing sephiroth so early and showing flash forwards in remake.

Cut to Scarlet's shocked face. Then this.

The cursing is kind of only really in English. The Japanese script doesn't really have cursing at all.

Given that those two actually have history with her and Tifa doesn't, I'd be willing to give up the slap fight (which is tonally weird anyway for a big dramatic escape) for a better showdown with Barrett and Yuffie, even if some of that happens in the return to Midgar.

I think they are 100% giving this sequence to Yuffie instead. She and Barret both want revenge on her of some kind. She wants revenge for Sonon and Wutai as a nation.

I think what will likely happen is Tifa will has a 1v1 boss fight against Scarlet in a mech. Then the fight will end and Scarlet will try to slap Tifa and then Tifa will bitchslap her.
Either that or the fight gets recontextualized into a true slapfight, with a minigame. Maybe the context is that Tifa tells Scarlet that she has nothing without her armor or something, and then Scarlet gets mad.

they've got to have a replayable version of this in the Gold Saucer. Like a VR version or something and it has multiple difficulties and you have to do the hardest one (Should be harder then 3D Brawler and they figured out a way to prevent pause cheese) to get the platinum, just to piss people off.

Considering how well Stellar Blade did in sales, Square will turn on the sexy and will make this slapfest a reality. Tifa cannot be at full strength when this happens as she might decapitate Scarlett. I see Tifa groggy due to the poisoned gas and barely able to stand when this fight happens. Tifa wins, party arrived and a boss fight with Crimson Mare Mk 3. Scarlett dies

If I'm being honest I feel like they're gonna change this to yuffie beating scarlet rather than tifa. So far we haven't seen much of tifa hates scarlet to the bones but we do see it from yuffie

Really curious how they do this, because there's some silly weirdness in the original. Once Sapphire Weapon zaps a hole in Tifa's gas chamber, she basically climbs down the side of the sheer wall of the canon. There's literally no handholds, just sheet metal. You can see a Shinra soldier try to follow her and he falls right down. Yet somehow, Scarlet is able to keep up with Tifa? I don't know how she got there, I doubt there was some maintenance hatch that opened up to the top of the actual canon where nobody needs to be. I wonder if they'll play it straight in part 3 and just have Scarlet end up with Tifa without explanation, or maybe she'll fly in on a mech.
Tifa switches to slapping as a way of making the fight more fair while still embarrassing Scarlett.
Would be surprised if it ends up being an actual boss fight and Scarlet ends up knowing some sort of mixed martial arts. The whole fight is a series of intricate fightings and by the end it becomes a slap fight.
If we had to throw boxes, we will almost certainly be slapping it up.
I have a sneaking suspicion that this will happen, just not how we are expecting. I think and the slap fight happens there instead.

Alternative is that Yuffie could swap for Tifa given her history with Scarlet in the Remake series. Also given Tifa axe kicked a dragon in the head and killed it, Scarlet would not be standing after a slap to the face, unless she's caked up with enough makeup to have thickened skin

I strongly disagree, I think the part is just bad and pretty sexist. She's a martial artist, Tifa deserves better than a "cat fight". You can still have them like fight 1 on 1 but it really should just be Tifa knocking her to the ground in 1 blow.
