Oh yeah we're getting her to do a charge back , it's nowhere near what she paid for.
Now there’s a drink I can get on board with! Saw 20/20 in the shop the other day. First time in like 20 years.
They even gave you the wrong wine. She ordered Palatine Sauvignon blanc and got Triggs Riesling/gewurztraminer. Not only is there a price difference (the bottle received costs like $10) but they’re wildly different types of wine.
Yeah this is the main problem, it's not a wine that my mum can even drink!
Charge back to your cc?
That's the next step for her.
lmfao not the jackson triggs
They really said 'what's the cheapest wine we can put in there?'
There are plenty of like pretty decent dirt cheap wines too, but they went with the notorious pos wine lmao
My mom and her SIL buy my grandma a wine of the month thing from Harry and David for my grandma for Christmas every year. It comes with a wine, a fruit, and a cheese every month. My grandma loves it. It’s legit.
ETA you can buy 3, 6, 9, or 12 months
Thanks!
It comes with like 9-12 of whatever fruit they give you, a thing of cheese, and I think 2 bottles of the wine. It’s quite the spread. My grandma sends pictures every month. Lol
Unfortunately don’t think they ship to Canada - I’m honestly guessing that’s how OP’s sibling got got… we really don’t have many options for ordering alcohol gifts here, I remember looking for my mom last year and there wasn’t much.
That’s a shame! I didn’t even think about that
Harry and David is great. I’m from where their packaging and pear harvesting is (and some of their wineries) and it’s such fantastic quality. Their little stores are nice too, albeit expensive. Granted with them you get what you pay for. :)
The Snicklefritz Basket
Bold move slipping the $11 Jackson Triggs in there 😭 I could mayyybe see the wine glasses being an accident if everything else was correct. This is a straight up catfish 💀
Is this from a trusted website? Or from a pop-up that promised "great deals"?
$78 for a bottle of wine and some glasses is definitely a scam
The wine they were SUPPOSED to receive was a reserve selection, and same with the cheese. Calculated of what they were SUPPOSED to get you pretty much got to $78 like this was supposed to be a 'high end' basket.
I can't believe they thought they would get away with it! Audacious!
Because it's a gift box. How many people who receive the gift are checking in with the person who ordered it and doing comparisons with what they ordered/actually received (vs the number of people who just say thank you, I got the gift. Love it).
I'm sure it's much easier to get away with this crap because a lot of people never check.
I don't really believe in spending big money on wine. It all tastes about the same to me.
Oh me neither, but still you should get what you've ordered/paid for.
There’s a theory that above like $25-30 a bottle, even many sommeliers can’t distinguish value based on flavor. They could be tasting a $30 bottle, $75 bottle, $200 bottle, whatever, and not be able to pinpoint it from a price point.
But the gap in taste and quality between Jackson Triggs and a solid $25 wine is about as wide as the Grand Canyon.
Not to mention that the glasses look cheaper than the photo on the box they came in. You can see how much thicker the rims on the real ones are.
im not disagreeing the glasses are janky but with wine glasses the thicker rolled rimmed glasses are usually cheap glasses and the thinner glasses with the flat cut rims usually are better quality - usually crystal goblet glasses have that "not rolled rim" - I collect crystal wine glasses at goodwill and other thift stores. I love that most people dont know the difference between the good glasses vs the high quality crystal ones and I have found 149$ a glass 101/2 in tall Lenox wine glasses selling for 99 cents. There were 12 // I bought them all. Felt like I was stealing. I told the manager they were far more valuable that what they priced. She smiled and said then its your lucky day. ;)
No that’s not what a scam is. It may be way overpriced and a poor value and made with substitutions for which they probably had a clause in the fine print, but it is legit. They did send wine and glasses. The disappointment in quality is a different issue.
It looks like it's a twist off top, so at least it's easier to open! /s
I'm missing something. She ordered white wine, she got white wine. Cheese and crackers, a wood box and 2 glasses are photoed. Yeah, the glasses should have been matching, but I don't see a huge issue here.
The wine is the equivalent of two-buck chuck but without the plaudits. It's a well-known budget Canadian budget brand.
Got it. That makes more sense then. Thanks!
She ordered a specific and upgraded white wine, instead she got downgraded.
So it's like ordering a Tiffany And Co and getting Claire's

Yeah I was just trying to think of a comparison, not literally.
Cousin ordered Nordstrom, they received Kohls lol
I know many Claire’s but not so many Tiffany’s. I do know for sure that the Tiffany’s I’ve met are way less sane than the Claire’s …so maybe it’s a sign. Take it or leave it.
I feel like I've been greeted by a fantasy wizard, thanks I appreciate it!
The product that she ordered was of a much higher price point/quality than what was received.
why are you being downvoted in the comments?!?!?!
Hmm maybe because they used an apostrophe when one isn’t required to indicate plural. Eats, Shoots and Leaves fans.
Kidding. I don’t know?
OP, that still looks good.... I bought one of these scam baskets before and NOTHING looked like it was supposed to, shit had cracked seals and expired treats, everything was jumbled in a box... it was absolutely, motherfucking, embarrassing and disgraceful and if I can remember the name, I will come back and post!
OK - upon closer inspection, I see how they screwed you over.. I still think this "looks good" but understand it's NOT what you chose and paid for.
Yeah like at the end of the day it's a wine and cheese basket but it's nowhere near what she paid for.
Yea.. totally agree
Upgrade to Jackson Triggs is the worst part of this.
I mean, you got wine, glasses, cheese, crackers. Like in the picture. (I wonder if the website has a disclaimer about the exact products being subject to availability). The fact it’s overpriced is evident in the first photo. You decided to go ahead with the purchase. I don’t think it’s a big deal…
It’s a pretty big deal that she ordered an expensive Sav Blanc for $80 and received a $10 Jackson Triggs Reisling. They paid for a quality dry wine and received a cheap sweet wine.
I don’t drink Canadian wine so I wouldn’t know the difference.
You’re not a wine drinker are you. I ordered red wine, I want red wine. 🍷
LOL, They actually ordered white as per the first photo where they upgraded to white.
And yes I am a wine drinker and I live in a well known wine region.
Who orders gift baskets ?
A lot of people lol
jackson triggs?
that's like mad dog 20/20
this would 100% be a chargeback for me because it is NOT what I ordered.
