I recently crossed a huge milestone and started earning over $10k/ month for the past few months.
This is not the first time I have crossed this milestone since I had months where I made more, but those were from one-time bonuses or some asset sales.
This time, all of these $10k is from mid to long-term projects. Thus, I am finally officially celebrating this achievement.
It has been a very long-term goal of mine to cross $10k and make over $100k/year, which I am projected to do this year.
However, since I have been chasing this for so long (10+ years), I don't know what to do next.
Here is some context:
- I work as a freelancer, so I mainly exchange my time for money
- My area of experience is SEO (search engine optimization)
- I am currently fully booked, so there is little room to increase my income further
- I am basically an overpaid manager at this point since the majority of my day-to-day is managing other people, creating strategies, and making sure they're executed properly
Here is my biggest problem: I am tired of working as a freelancer, and I don't think it's really sustainable for me to do it for the next 10-20 years (I am 30 now). However, I am not sure how to get out of this now-seeming spiral where I have to sell my time. Since I am making a lot of money, I don't really want to let go of that, but I am not sure where I can transition.
Do I build a productized service? Maybe I should build some sort of agency or do something entirely different. I thought about these, but again, I'm not sure if this is the direction I want to take. It doesn't truly excite me.
Although I am a bit tired of SEO, I have TONS of great care studies, expertise, and network, so I also don't want to let go of that since I know I can level my 10 years of experience to gain clients or build something else.
I am looking for some ideas or maybe stories about people who have been in a similar kind of situation.
What would you do in my situation? Any ideas, stories, tips, or advice?
