Anyone have any idea why this happens?
Troubleshooting (Print Quality)Too low nozzle temp to push filament through?
I’m printing using pla+ and I thought 190 would work for that
I print a temperature tower for every spool of filament I buy. You could have ten rolls of the same color filament, from the same manufacturer, and you're going to have different temps for most of them. I usually print PLA+ at 220, but, like I said, I do have a few rolls that like it warmer, or cooler. You can find temperature towers on thingiverse for free.
Definitely won’t. 215+
I print PLA+ at 190 nearly all the time
Might be brand dependent or your nozzle is getting hotter than it says.
190 will not extrude evenly on either of my printers. Have to do 205+ to extrude and 220-230 to get good prints.
I think its the temperature. 190 is bare minimum for pla but a modified pla might need more.
But 1st we need to check for clogging. Here is what I would do:-
1. Go to prepare>> extrude, do not cut the filament,
2. when it says to insert the filament just press confirm.
After this if any plastic comes out then congrats ur printer is not clogged. Just raise the temp in your slicer.
If the plastic still doesn't comes out, ur nozzle is clogged. Check youtube on how yo unclog and do the same.
Happy printing, Adios
How much have you used your printer? I ask because I just had to replace the extruder on mine after about 8 months of almost 24/7 use. It started clicking and making weird sounds every once in a while then filament wasn’t being pushed out even though the gear was turning. Check to make sure it was a clogged nozzle or bad nozzle as well. Replaced extruder and all is well again. It’s a fairly easy and cheap fix.
Bro I haven’t even done more than 25 prints
Check for a clog then. Take the nozzle off, clean or replace it and see if that does the trick.
I’ll try that out
Interesting. I was printkng for 6 weeks and the clicking sound while printing started. It got worse and at one point the prints didnt finish but i found the printer going through the printing motions in midair a few centimeters above the model without extruding. Cleaned the nozzle and it was all gunked up. But the mistake kept happening. I clean and it gets clogged again. Now it wont even print bed level tests anymore, no extrusion. Should I replace my extruder? Sounds like this might be it
Always Run a temp tower - will tell you at what temperature this roll prints properly.
Do a dry pull on your nozzle. - remove the filament (retract on the machine) - put the ‘rod’ like thingy that came with the machine (has a loop on one end) and do an extraction while gently pushing on the rod. After that do one more extraction without the rod. Both these are without any filament. remove the rubber covering the nozzle While the nozzle is hot, wipe it with a paper towel. (Be careful for your fingers ) Do another dry pull. And then load filament and extract. This works for me 90% of the time
I know there is a firmware update that fixes the temp measurements, could be off as much as 5 degrees for the v3se. So 190 could be 185 which is too low imo to print pla(plus/pro). I would suggest upping your temp by 5 degrees and try again. The temperature control tower other users mentioned is a perfect way to check which filament runs best on which temp. Even if your firmware is off a bit giving back the temperature measurements you can check and adjust that using the temp control tower.
