xQc a year ago saying "yeah nobody gives a fuck" about a 16 year old iShowSpeed lying about his age to go on e-dates.
DramaHe was channeling his inner dan and shit stirring for content. He loves seeing destiny go debate mode.
At least it's some decent content. I can only take so much Israel Palestine 😴 .
That was so obvious. This "Destiny has gone full libtard" attack line was especially cringe worthy and he dropped it really fast after realizing he wasn't convincing anyone.
Doesn’t even make sense, wouldn’t libtard be more fitting for X’s position?
If you're willing to be a little charitable here, I think due to his past scandal and the fact he is not very bright he probably just made the decision in his head to draw a hard line for peace of mind without thinking deeply about it.
So when he has to "debate" this position, it is obviously shallow and silly.
EDIT: I know his past scandal had nothing to do with sexual stuff, but I mean he was probably hyper-aware of this type of cancellation stuff when he made up his mind.
Wasn't his argument that culpability should fall on the older person in this kind of scenario?
Bro doing everyone a favor fr, out here exposing the deviants
Yeah but some 16 be asking for it bro

I don't think xqc was being good faith with his responses to destiny's hypotheticals.
Yeah, when Destiny gave the 1000 year old anime girl hypothetical and X just said "why are you talking about fictional things that can't happen irl" I knew he was totally out of it, that's the whole point of the hypothetical... to push the concept to its most extreme conclusion in order to gage what X's actual beliefs are... dude was totally lost in the conversation
Hypotheticals have their place, but hypotheticals can be so far out that it stops being helpful, if you can’t imagine/fathom the situation in your head at all. I’m not saying it’s a binary but it’s a spectrum where a good interlocutor is capable of grounding their hypotheticals to something resembling reality to ease the conversation.
There’s also bad hypotheticals that Destiny wrongly calls “intuition pumping” (I don’t know what’s a more appropriate term), when you bring up a hypothetical to evoke a certain gut feeling, then lowkey strip out all the morally relevant facts from it to make the gut feeling that hypothetical evokes and the actual facts on the ground so different.
Something like imagining a baby getting raped, but the baby suffers no harm from the rape, this hypothetical is kinda absurd to the point of being useless. No, in this instance it’s not serving to “push something to its most extreme conclusion”. Oh a better example of this intuition pumping/loaded hypothetical would be the people seeds argument by Judith Thompson, where she evokes the connotations of the term “people” , but in her hypothetical, strips out almost everything that makes a person a person
In this case it's practically what follows from xQc's position, at least from the response he gave to a slightly more grounded hypothetical about a 16 year old in a coma who wakes up and is 26 now. The 1000 year old vampire girl is just an extreme of that. It's not realistic, sure, but X's position is literally that there is a black and white transition from when you're not 18 to when you're 18, so an answer to the 1000 year old vampire girl is pretty fine in order to gage his position. Although, to be a bit more fair, it did also seem like kind of a troll question from destiny
But it might actually just be the case that X was being bad faith, every time he would go "duuuude whaaat are you talking about" just seemed like a cheap attempt to feign disbelief and not have to engage with anything, it certainly felt somewhat bad faith while watching
Except Destiny always goes insane and will create one that will never happen so its useless to respond to.
Can't say I really recall any instances of that, but regardless, a hypothetical doesn't have to be realistic in order to work. A very extreme hypothetical can be used to gage whether someone actually believes what they're saying or if they believe something else and are just hiding it behind something more acceptable. It can also show how consistent someone is in their beliefs.
Maybe I'm too new to Destiny, I'm only really aware of the past year or two of content, but I can't recall him ever using hypotheticals in bad faith. They always map on to the topic pretty well and are used to have someone engage with their own opinions
That would be like saying ”What if a Alien came down and could mentally control DrDisrespect and made him sext a minor would he still be responsible for it?”…
When has Destiny ever used a hypothetical like that? The 1000 year old anime girl hypothetical has a very clear use. X said that a 20 year old dating a 17 year old is worse than a 50 year old dating an 18 year old, and so the logical extreme is that a 1000 year old dating an 18 year old is fine. This hypothetical also came right after Destiny giving a previous hypothetical about a 16 year old in a coma waking up 10 years later, with a 16 year old mind and a 26 year old body. The 1000 year old anime girl hypothetical is a clear logical continuation, if extreme, of both of these points which X responded to. It's not anything absurd or meaningless, it's to gage X's beliefs and how he applies them.
Lol you dont think using a 1000 year old anime girl is on the same level as i Said above???
No, absolutely not. As I said, the 1000 year old anime girl is a perfectly explainable hypothetical that maps on to the topic of the conversation. Being an extreme hypothetical isn't the same as being a hypothetical that isn't even related to the topic. I already explained why.
There is a double standard, always has been. Most people don't think its as weird when the woman is older.
those werent actual dates, just for content.

I feel like most of the argument was just a misunderstanding on both sides tbh. I think Xqc interpreted the whole not care thing from Destiny as way more extreme then he meant it. To him it sounds like Destiny doesn't care that a minor was involved it something they should never have been because the responsibility is on the adult, but I think Destiny meant more so that he doesn't really care because the perceived harm involved would be non existent in one scenario vs the other. The whole attraction starts at 18 thing is pretty dumb also not caring about extreme age gaps just because it's legal also feels pretty silly but whatever.
When are women going to get equal rights?
(dming minors is a right!)
What matters is what he's saying today. People can change their mind, you know.
This is some cancel culture type mentality to bring up the past like that.
I agree. I'm not trying to cancel him. I'm a juicer myself, and the only reason I found this clip is because I was watching this video for entertainment and it jumped out at me in light of last night's discussions.
That said, I think its ironic given his hard stance now. I generally agree with the sentiment that no one gives a shit but it kinda contradicts what he said last night. No hate xqcL
It was so fucking obvious that xQc was just trying to virtue signal. His brain was complete off during that conversation.
