Hey Dad,
As a first-time homeowner, I find myself facing an ongoing challenge with our washing machine. Despite regular efforts to clear the drain line using a snake and maintaining the lint trap, water continues to back up at the drain line. Notably, our initial home inspection revealed no significant or minor issues related to the drainage system. Given our limited budget, we’re uncertain about the best course of action. Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Pops!
I kind of had the same problem.
What I did was to remove the washing machine drain pipe and fixed a normal water hose to the drain to see if it's a water capacity issue or flow rate issue
Found out that my drain system couldn't handle the flow rate of the washing machine water outlet and it's backing up. The drain pipe had a bend somewhere far away and it kept backing up water when the flow is higher.
My solution was to simply connect my washing machine drain to a large plastic tub to which I fixed a small hose that connected to the main drain. That way the pipes didn't get clogged up.
Got it fixed later ...but check that out first. If it's a water capacity or a flow rate issue
