Hi Folks, Currently trying to figure which of these is a better deal. I need to be getting a car urgently but I don't want to have regrets. Advice is very welcome!
I'm very countryside based so I think that helps my decision, many thanks!
Also depends on which motorisation you’re looking at. In some countries the 4x4 was only available in diesel.
Only diesel here! Not that I mind too much as I'd be going long distance quite often anyway
Check the owners manual. On my petrol 4x4 it says that the 2nd gear can be used instead of 1st on flat ground. But I definitely have to shift a lot more compared to other cars. Basically every 10-12 kph I shift. And when overtaking I have to downshift to make it through safely. Haven't had experience with the diesel one.
4x4 has independent suspension on the back wheels.
4x2 does not.
4x4 has the option to deactivate ESP.
4x2 does not.
Any difference in the trim level and options?
Both DCI Laureates
OK and what are the production years of both? Also, would you use the 4x4?
Both 2016s. I'm based in the countryside and do a lot of outdoorsing (and light off-roading) so I think it would be well suited for me
Hmm. 15k is suspect low milege for an 8 year old car. I'd try and figure out what's happened there first and see it has been serviced every year as well.
Otherwise, it's 75% less mileage for +25% of the price, and a 4x4 to boot. The 4x4 could be the better deal here and more fitting to your use case. But the mileage is suspect. How does the price of the 4x4 compare to other 4x4's in the market?
It's one of the cheaper ones but still on the average range for it's kind. I'm looking into the vehicles history and can see no problems
They are very different to drive. The 4x4 are lower geared. They are superb off road but nowhere near as capable at cruising as the 2x4. If you want a long-legged car, get the 2x4. If you want a good countryside/winter car, get the 4x4.
